Welcome to our bi-weekly post where we provide Bible verses, answers and advice to the questions and concerns you have. During the course of the last two weeks readers have submitted their questions and today we are going to answer some of them. So please join us and feel free to chime in on the discussion in the comments section below this post.
Before we get into this week’s questions we would like to point out that you are helping to spread the Word of God by your continued submission of questions. Because of your ongoing participation these Q&A posts have been read thousands of times. Without your participation this section of our site would not exist. So if you have a Biblical or non-Biblical question you would like to ask, submit it now for our next edition of “Bible: Question, Answer and Discussion“.
Question: Would Jesus Christ be considered a martyr? A friend asked me this.
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Adele thank you for the question. First, let us all take a look at the definition of the word “martyr“:
“a person who is put to death or endures great suffering on behalf of any belief, principle, or cause:”
At first glance some might say, sure Christ fits that definition. He died for a belief…
The truth of the matter is Christ did not die for a belief or for Himself. Christ being the Son of God came in the flesh to die for us. By doing so, Christ became the ultimate sacrifice, He gave us the opportunity to repent and have everlasting life if we so choose. That is not a belief at all my friends, that is our reality.
Passover: Why We Should Be Celebrating It As Christians
Question: What are your thoughts on what is being said about the Shemitah possibly predicting financial collapse in September 2015?
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Lance, thank you for the question. I think people will always look at some prediction and turn it into whatever they want to believe. Shemitah is a Jewish term and it really concerns the Sabbath which has nothing to do with financial collapse. Biblically, during the Sabbath year (every seven years) you are suppose to let your land fallow (Leviticus 25:1–7, Exodus 23:10–11) and forgive all debts (Deuteronomy 15:1–6).
It is thought this year through 2018 could be the Sabbatical year which is also thought to be the Jubilee as well. That is very interesting considering what is transpiring in the world, but honestly Lance no one can nail down a date for sure on this. The world is spinning out of control, but let us stay focused on God’s Word and not the words of men.
Question: Assuming there were other Creations before this one, do you believe they had access to the inner planets? If artifacts were ever found on another planet, how do we know for certain those who were there were extra-terrestrial? I’m saying this because I believe God Created mankind in His Image; making us the greatest in the Universe. There’s a belief from some that the asteroid belt between Mars & Jupiter was in fact another planet that exploded (?!). Could this have been a Judgement by God in a previous Creation? I once believed ETs existed given the vastness of space, but changed my mind after really considering the staggering amount of things that have to happen simultaneously and exactly the right way in a symbiotic relationship for life to exist; let alone survive. To believe ETs exist elsewhere takes too much faith to believe in; however, previous Creations could have made the leap technologically…, right? Thanks for listening.
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Jerry thank you for the question. I would agree there are no other life forms out there like us. God created us in His image which does seem very special.
As for previous ages, we do live in the second earth age today where we obviously exist in the flesh. Before this current dispensation of time we find ourselves in mankind existed on earth in their true bodies which are our spiritual bodies. Same earth just a different age. That age ended when Satan rebelled against our Father. The unfortunate thing is a lot of God’s children followed Satan during that time. God could have simply destroyed Satan and those who followed Him. Instead our Father created this flesh age where we are born innocent in order to make up our mind who we will follow, God or Satan. We have two studies on this linked below.
Were there vehicles in the past that would have allowed man (in their spiritual bodies) to travel beyond the stars? Absolutely and I believe the Bible even talks about them. God’s technology far exceeds what we can even comprehend. With our Father nothing is impossible.
We would like to thank our Father for giving us this platform in order to spread His most precious Word. We would also like to thank our readers for submitting their questions and giving us the opportunity to share them with the audience.
