WEB Notes: “The sword stands ready”? You have got to be kidding me? I think someone has been watching too many B rated war movies. We are talking about peoples lives, innocent people that will die in a conflict and he tells them “the sword stands ready”. We certainly have children reigning over us as His Word declares (Isaiah 3:4).
The other part of this NK story that gets me is they have trouble launching rockets off the ground without them blowing up. Yet, we are continually told they are going to nuke the US when they have no nukes. Let’s assume for a moment they actually have nuclear weapons. Do you think they are going to place an armed warhead on a rocket that might come crashing back down on them? Not a chance. These guys are not muslim radicals so no one can play the “mutually assured destruction” card does not work here. Common sense people, common sense.
Vice President Mike Pence delivered a new warning to North Korea on Wednesday, saying the United States’ response to any use of weapons by the reclusive state will be “overwhelming and effective.” Pence spoke to hundreds of U.S. and Japanese sailors from the deck of the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier in the Yokosuka naval base in Tokyo Bay, Japan.
“North Korea is the most dangerous and urgent threat to peace and security in the Asia-Pacific,” he said. “The United States of America will always seek pea
