Bible Question and Answer
Name: Leidi P.
Question: I am a little confused where you guys said Adam and Eve had sex with the devil because he was the tree of knowledge of good and evil then Jesus was the tree of life, so Adam and Eve could of have sex with Jesus too, I am confused here both tree was in the garden of eden. Please explain GB
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Leidi thank you for the question.
For reference Leidi is asking about our study, “The Garden of Eden: The Origins of Satan’s Seed“.
Both “trees” were in the Garden of Eden among other “trees“, that is correct. The entire account is a “euphemism” which means, “substituting a mild, indirect, or vague term for one considered harsh, blunt, or offensive“.
Tree’s are not good or bad so we should understand we are not talking about literal tree’s, instead these “tree’s” are symbolic. They represent Satan who is the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” and Jesus Christ who is the “Tree of Life“. As we pointed out in that study the Two Witnesses and God are referred to as tree’s as well in scripture so that should not shock anyone that God would use trees to symbolize men.
We also point out what Christ told us in Matthew 7:20 where He said, “by their fruit ye shall know them“. Common sense tells us people do not suddenly sprout fruit from their arms. So the fruit is symbolic as well. Symbolic for our actions and deeds, our works.
So obviously the tree is symbolic for mankind, Christ and Satan. The fruit is symbolic for the works of mankind, Christ and Satan. So what is the eating? It is partaking of deeds. If we partake of Christ’s deeds and works we are richly blessed (Revelation 22:1-5). However, if we partake of Satan’s deeds and works we will be extremely cursed.
In Genesis 2:16-17 God told Adam not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but he could eat of the other trees. He could not partake of Satan’s works, deeds or anything else. To be quite blunt God was telling them to stay far away from Satan. I want you to turn with me and listen to what Eve tells the serpent who is Satan (Revelation12:7-9).
3 “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.”
Eve provides us additional details. We have TWO conditions here.
- “Ye shall not eat of it“
- “Nether shall ye touch it“
We already know about the first condition, they were not to partake of Satan’s deeds or works. The second condition tells us “Neither shall ye touch it“.
When you “lie with a woman” it means you have sex. To simplify this, God told Eve not to sleep with Satan, he is the “tree in the midst of the Garden“. God had to point this out as He knew Satan would try to seduce Eve and sure enough Satan did anyway. The whole reason Satan seduced Eve and had sex with her was to try and destroy the blood line that Jesus Christ would come through.
Does anyone honestly think God did not know what Satan was up too? Of course He did, that is why he said, “neither shall ye touch it“. While Satan fathered Cain he was unsuccessful in destroying the bloodline of Christ, but Satan does have children in the world today.
Remember, God created Eve for Adam period. No orgies or sharing of woman were ever to take place, so Adam and Eve could not or would never have thought about having sex with the “Tree of Life“. It was through Satan’s subtle that he brought about the sin in the Garden to begin with (Genesis 3:1-7).
Question: If Jesus had church in a believer’s home in Luke 5:19. If the promised gift of the Holy Spirit was first ushered in from the upper room of a believer’s house according to Acts 2:2. If Paul the apostle who wrote the majority of the New Testament had church in his house as in Acts 28:39-31. If Paul the apostle addressed many of his letters as “to the church in thy house” as in Romans 16:5 and Philemon 2. Then why do we have church today in large commercial buildings that are being ran as a corporation that Jesus would call “a den of thieves”?
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question John. You made some really good points here and you used scripture to back it up, I love that! You get a star for the day. ⭐️
I could not agree more with the point you are laying out here. Just about every church I have ever attended passed the plate and I always found that odd even at a young age. It puts everyone on the spot to put some of their hard earned money into that shinny plate, it places unneeded pressure on those in the congregation.
To me it is like the car salesmen who has you at the table during the negotiation process and says, ‘if I can get it approved for this price will you take it? If so, sign here‘.
Of course the paper he wants you to sign is not a legal contract, it is just a bunch of scribbles. It is called sales pressure to make you feel obligated and a church should never do something like that. But that is exactly what they are doing when they pass the plate. You can really understand what someone is after by listening to what they talk about. This may shock some people, but if all they talk about is money that is their primary concern. You will know them by what? Their fruit (Matthew 7:20).
I know some of the people within the congregation really mean well, unfortunately they have been sucked into traditions and they continue to carry on with them without thinking about what they are doing.
We give to a “house of God” because they have helped us grow in the Word of God. As you pointed out it does not need to be some commercial building either. Most of those are ran by “a den of thieves” from my experiences anyway.
Since you pointed out Romans 16:5 I want to look at the word “church” as used there which is Strong’s word G1577 and it means,
“a calling out, that is, (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both): – assembly, church.”
No where can one get the idea that the word “church” means some big fancy building with their own rules and regulations outside of the Bibles. Rather, “church is “a calling out” for the “Christian community“.
That community can be anywhere Christians would like to congregate. It can be your home, a park or even right here on the internet where you will never find a shinny plate.
Question: I appreciate your website very much! The resources available here are so valuable … thank you for all your hard work.
I’ve been following a couple guys who claim that the earth went through a severe cataclysm 12,000 or so years ago (Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson). Here is a link to a youtube video where I first discovered these gentlemen (it’s very interesting with regard to their timing of events and how it coincides with the Bible). Worth your time!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H5LCLljJho
1st question: What evidence (scriptural and physical) is there that points to our existence prior to this earth age? Since we were in spiritual bodies does that change the physical construct as it pertains to evidence?
2nd question: Do you hold a strong opinion about Bible translations? If so, which translation do you prefer or recommend?
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Jared thank you for the question.
I rarely post links to other sites as I typically never have the time to verify the information. I will say I still cannot vouch for this video. However, I did watch several minutes of this portion of the video, which consisted of discussion about the ripples in Montana’s terrain and their thoughts on it being caused by an extremely large flood. I found that interesting enough to post. For the rest of our readers, please watch at your own risk and use discernment as always.
With respect to your two questions in order:
#1: It would seem you have read our study, “The World That Then Was, The First Earth Age“. For those that have not, please read that study so you can understand our discussion.
Jared the interesting thing is scientists have never found a real human body older than 8,000 – 9,000 years old. They have found apes and they claim they are humans, but it is a horrible lie and it should be obvious to everyone. A man looks like a man, not an ape and we certainly did not evolve from slime. I can tell you the slime in those ponds stays there, I have watched it for many hours and it never turned into a man, it did dry up though.
The study I linked above documents Biblically there was an entire earth age before the one we presently live in. But what did we do there? What happened and why did God over throw it? While we answered some of those questions in that study, for in depth details please read our study titled, “Satan’s Sin“.
#2: I will only recommend the 1611 Authorized Version of the King James Bible. It is simply the best Bible the English reader can obtain and bring them as close as possible to understanding the original manuscripts. This does not mean it is perfect and I have to caution you, there are still errors. The first error is in Genesis 1:2 where the word “was” should have been translated as “became” and we document that in the First Earth Age study.
Just this week in a Bible Verse of the Day we pointed out how the newer King James Bible improperly translated the word “He” as “he“. Anytime we see an uppercase “H” we automatically know we are talking about our Father or Christ. When the uppercase is removed it causes some doubt for the reader as to who is being referenced. We have an article on Bible translations that can be found here: Why We Use the King James Bible.
Jared, we have The Companion Bible on our site in PDF format. This is in fact a 1611 Authorized Version of the King James Bible which also has marginal notes from Dr. Bullinger. It is free and available online or you may download it as well.
We would like to thank our Father for giving us this platform in order to spread His most precious Word. We would also like to thank our readers for submitting their questions and giving us the opportunity to share them with the audience. If you would like to ask a question submit it for the next edition of this post and continue the discussion by leaving a comment below.
