I recently read an article that explained how two atheist organizations worked together and filed a complaint with the Department of Defense over graduation prayers. Working together, the two athiest organizatons penned a letter that was sent to Defense Secretary James Mattis in a formal complaint.
After reading the article, I pondered the thought for a moment.
We constantly hear and read about atheists complaining and seeking to remove our Christian right to prayer, but I do not read or hear about Christian organizations working together to try and hold onto those rights. It seems as if the letters and complaints are always one sided.
If Christian’s and Christian organizations are writing letters, it would be great to hear about that so we know that we are making a stand for God and trying to do our part. So we know it is not a one sided battle.
Each and every day we need to make a stand for God. It does not have to be an epic triumph, but we need to make it known that we will not stand for our Christian rights being removed.
We will not stand by idle and watch it happen.
With that, I decided to write and mail off my own letter to Defense Secretary James Mattis that I will now share with you.

Dear Secretary James Mattis,
I pray you take the time to read this letter today, as I took the time to write it.
I recently read an article by Heather Clark at ChristianNews.net. She explained how two atheist organizations filed a complaint with your office and sent you a letter requesting you to cease graduation prayers that are currently offered. I had the opportunity to review their letter that was signed by their lawyers and officials.

Sir, I do not have an organization to back me up. I do not have lawyers to sign my letter today, nor do I have a special title. I come to you as a humble American and Christian who is tired of seeing the Father and Son pushed out of our nation. While you will see a single signature at the bottom of this letter, I speak for millions of Christians who do not want to see prayer and the name of Jesus Christ removed from it.
I do not know your faith or lack thereof, yet I want to remind you of the Constitution of these United States which I hold dear to my heart.
Amendment I
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
The First Amendment set before us by our Founding Father’s makes it very clear, the Department of Defense has not violated this great Amendment of our Constitution as claimed by the atheist organizations. Congress has made no law for or against our Christian faith.
Rather, the Law of the Land not only offers us the freedom of religion and prayer, but it has guaranteed it.
Sir, I ask that you continue to hold to that oath and promise to the American people.

When prayers are held during your graduation ceremonies they acknowledge and honor our Heavenly Father.
Those who do not wish to acknowledge Him certainly have that right, but please do not remove that right from those who do wish to acknowledge and honor Him.
