There Is No New Thing Under The Sun

Can it be said there is anything new under the sun?

Ecclesiastes 1:4
4 “One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.”

The earth has been here since the beginning of creation, but the generations of man come and go.

Ecclesiastes 1:5
5 “The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.”

The sun goes up every morning and every evening it goes down.

Ecclesiastes 1:6-7
6 “The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.”

7 “All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.”

The earth’s circuits are continuous without interruption or change.

Ecclesiastes 1:8-9
8 “All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.”

9The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”

There is nothing new under the sun, this is the answer to our question. This should provide one witness of many that nothing will harm the earth nor will the earth become desolate, (Genesis 8:21-22). We may have earthquakes and volcanoes on a grand scale, but the earth will remain and so will we.

Be comforted by this scripture.

Ecclesiastes 1:10
10 “Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.”

There is nothing new under the sun my friends. Fear not, worry not.

Rest in our Father’s Word.

I would encourage you to read the entire book of Ecclesiastes. It’s written to the man who walks under the sun, you and I.
