1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Our bodies are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). With that said, we should consume food according to the law of our Father, not things He disapproves of (Leviticus 11:7-11).
2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Do not go the way of the world. We know the world does not take the narrow path that leads to salvation (Matthew 7:13-14).
3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
Never get puffed up with pride and think you are really something. How on earth with that kind of attitude will you ever be able to share the Word of God with others if they see how you treat them?
4 “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:”
No matter what our position or role in God’s Kingdom we are all a part of the body of Christ. One single body with different members. Some are the eyes, some are the legs that carry the body where it needs to go and some are the mouth to share the Word of our Father. All members are needed.
5 “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”
