OK governor defies Supreme Court — Ten Commandments will stay at capitol

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin has vowed that a Ten Commandments monument on capitol grounds, which the state Supreme Court recently ruled was unconstitutional, will remain through appeal, KOCO reports.

Satanic Temple sees Arkansas as possible monument location
Source: CBS | A group advocating for separation of church and state may propose that a Satanic statue be placed outside the Arkansas Statehouse after their first choice of the Oklahoma Capitol grounds was scuttled by a state Supreme Court ruling barring all religious monuments.
The Satanic Temple says Arkansas’ approval of a Ten Commandments display gives the group a right to erect the statue.
Oklahoma’s Supreme Court last week ordered the Ten Commandments display outside the Capitol building in Oklahoma City taken down because the state constitution bars the government from doing anything to benefit a religion. – Read More – CBS
