Question: Hello Brandon, here I am again with another question. It is heavy on my heart because I have four children and three grandchildren and they didn’t up till now make a decision to follow Jesus Christ. My only hope for them to get saved is based on the word in Acts 16:31: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, AND THY HO– USE.” I’m praying for them because the Lord said, that it is not his intent that any person shall get lost. What’s your opinion about that? By the way… I started studying your topics some days ago and can’t stop. Now so many things get an explanation in my mind, contradictions are wiped out and I can see things confirmed that I had in the backyard of my brain but nobody ever spoke to them. Thanks a lot and blessings to you!

Answer: Thank you for the question Victoria and I am glad to hear our studies are helping you.
Unless I am misunderstanding, it sounds like your family now believes in Jesus Christ. If that is the case you have nothing to be concerned about. If they have not accepted Jesus Christ they will need to do that on their own.
Always remember God is the Judge and we do have the Millennium for those who never had the opportunity to hear the Word taught in truth.
Please turn your Bible with me to,
9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
You cannot make this decision for them if they have not accepted Christ. They will need to do that themselves. You are correct 2 Peter 3:9 states the Lord is, “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” This requires action on their part. Now let us look at the verse you pointed out specifically.
31 “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
With just about every promise from God comes a condition or an “if” statement. Let us read the next couple verses.
32 “And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.”
33 “And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.”
They all went and were baptized in the name of Christ. So we can see that everyone in that house accepted Christ themselves and were baptized.
If your family believes in Christ as your question seems to indicate then enjoy their Christian company. If not, then when you can plant seeds here and there, but never force the Word on them. That will only drive them away. I want you to also remember Proverbs 22:6, let us read it together.
6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
This is a promise from God to you. If you raised your children up with the Lord then they will comeback around. It may take some time. Hang in there and remind God of His promise to you (Isaiah 43:26).
Question: Can you explain the Gap Theory?
Thank you and God Bless You
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Antonio, thank you for the question.
The gap theory is a Biblical belief that there is an unknown gap of time between the crucifixion of Jesus Christ (Daniel 9:26) and the end of this age of flesh which marks the return of Christ. We know this theory is true from the following scripture.
24 “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”
These are the words of Gabriel the angel. He has clearly stated at the end of these seventy weeks there would be no more sin and everlasting righteousness. Look at our world today. Sin reigns supreme and finding righteousness is becoming harder by the day. Under no circumstances has this scripture been fulfilled. We should note, it would not be possible for this to be a literal 70 weeks as that is just over a year and would never align with what we will read of from the Word.
25 “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”
Notice, the portions underlined and bold are in groups to make the timing of those events clear. So from “the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem” there were to be “seven weeks“. This commandment by men to “restore and build Jerusalem” was issued around 454 B.C.. We should note these seventy weeks we are told of are weeks of years (70 weeks multiplied by 7 days in a week equals 490 weeks of years that are to be determined).
So we are going to take the year 454 B.C. and subtract 49 years from it which brings us to the year 405 B.C. (the 7 weeks multiplied by 7 days to a week equals 49 weeks of years). Jerusalem was now restored and this point in time starts the “threescore and two weeks” (the 62 weeks multiplied by 7 days in a week equals 434 weeks of years) which is equal to 434 years of time that would need to transpire from the previous allotted time of 49 years. What happens now? Please turn your Bible with me to,
26 “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”
At the end of this “threescore and two weeks,” which is 434 years Christ was to be placed on this earth and also be crucified for us. This crucifixion was the cutting off we just read of which occurred around the year 29-33 A.D.. This now concludes the first 69 weeks (of years) or 483 years (49 years in addition to the 434 years). We now enter the gap in time or gap theory you are asking about.
We can be certain this last week of years is still future to us because of what Gabriel told us in verse 24, “to make an end of sins and to bring in everlasting righteousness“. This has not happened yet so we currently live during this gap phase of this prophecy. The final seven years are in front of us and they belong to Satan who will claim to be Christ before the world. This is the time known as the Tribulation. I would like to note Christ shortened this time for us in Matthew 24:22. Let us go one more verse.
27 “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
This is the final week we still await. The “he” spoken of in this verse is Satan who causes the daily sacrifice to cease. Satan will claim to be the Passover Lamb and Communion will no longer be taken by most of the world as they will believe Satan is the Messiah.
Please ensure you read Appendix 91 in The Companion Bible. This contains a wealth of detailed information on this subject.
Question: Will the 144,000 be killed during the tribulation? Thanks.
Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question Anthony.
The simple answer is not a chance. Now let us document it. Turn your Bible with me to,
1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”
This is extremely important to understand. These four winds usher in the final events that will consummate the end of this age of flesh and we will be talking more about these in the future.
2 “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,”
3 “Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”
These four winds cannot begin to blow until the servants of our Father are sealed. Sealed with what? Sealed with the Word of God. His Word is the sealing and this sealing will keep them from the lies and deception of Satan. That should be very clear to you as we just read the end cannot start until God’s Election are sealed.
4 “And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.”
This documents for us the number of those who are sealed from the Tribes of Israel being 144,000. Verses four through eight document 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes are sealed making up our total and documenting this is not just Judah, but 12,000 from Judah only. Take note, this does not factor in the ethnic peoples who will be sealed as well. Verse nine, thirteen and fourteen tell us before the Throne of God there is “a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues” who “came out of great tribulation“.
1 “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.”
These are those Christ spoke of in Matthew 24:31. Where are they? On Mount Sion standing with Jesus Christ. This places us at His return, after the “signs and lying wonders” of Satan (2 Thessalonians 2:9).
2 “And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:”
3 “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.”
Who sung the song? The 144,000 who were what? “Redeemed from the earth.” They were not killed and Christ documented for us in Luke 21:18 that “there shall not an hair of your head perish” when they are delivered up before Satan.
4 “These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.”
5 “And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.”
Spiritual virgins, those that Paul would speak of in 2 Corinthians 11:2-3. What else did these 144,000 do? ‘They followed the Lamb where ever He went‘ They did not get side tracked or confused about what they were to do. They were sealed with God’s Word for a purpose and they followed Christ through the entire Tribulation. Essentially they are the five wise virgins.
Anthony, I would really like you to read our study titled, “The Saints and Their Role in the Tribulation.” I think it will really help you.
