January 1, 2016: The New Bank Bail-In System Goes Into Effect In Europe

WEB Notes: What was once inconceivable will now be law in Europe in just a few days. All of the pieces are starting to fall together for the final collapse, or so it appears.

Source: Economic Collapse Blog | If you have a bank account anywhere in Europe, you need to read this article.  On January 1st, 2016, a new bail-in system will go into effect for all European banks.  This new system is based on the Cyprus bank bail-ins that we witnessed a few years ago.  If you will remember, money was grabbed from anyone that had more than 100,000 euros in their bank accounts in order to bail out the banks.  Now the exact same principles that were used in Cyprus are going to apply to all of Europe.  And with the entire global financial system teetering on the brink of chaos, that is not good news for those that have large amounts of money stashed in shaky European banks.

Pope Francis uses Christmas Eve Mass to call for a united front against ‘terrorism’

Pope Francis used his Christmas message to urge Israelis and Palestinians to formulate a two state solution by sitting down at the negotiation table and agreeing a peace deal to allow both sides ‘to live together in harmony’.He also called for peace in a world torn apart by ‘brutal acts of terrorism’ while thanking the generosity of countries for showing mercy and offering shelter to desperate refugees.

Debt distress level at highest since recession

Higher interest rates are about to hit companies – just when many are ill prepared to handle them.

The Federal Reserve this month took interest rates up for the first time in nearly a decade – ending the days of free money. It might take a few years for higher rates to hit companies – as they look to refinance debt. But the troubling part is many companies aren’t in great shape to eat the higher costs.

Archaeologists Find ‘Impressive’ Ancient Statue That Could Symbolize Jesus or the Flock of the ‘Good Shepherd’

Israeli archaeologists announced Sunday the discovery of a ram statue in the ancient port city of Caesarea they believe may have been meant to depict either Jesus or the Good Shepherd’s flock.

“In ancient Christianity Jesus was not portrayed as a person. Instead, symbols were used, one of which was the ram,” excavation directors Dr. Peter Gendelman and Mohammad Hater said in a joint statement announcing the Christmas Eve discovery of the marble ram.
