Question: Hi – I recently stumbled upon your website searching for more in my spiritual walk with God because I wasn’t satisfied with what my church is teaching. I don’t feel I have been fed spiritually lately and my hunger for Gods Word grows more in my life thus I have been asking God constantly to reveal the truth to me so I can know Him more and more each day = that I will decrease as He increases in my life. This is the first time I am writing to You. When I read Your Bible Study, I have a deep sense of connection in my spirit that I cannot describe. It is as if a piece puzzle was connected – it took me back to when I was a teenager how certain Words from the Bible just come alive, and now repeating itself as a confirmation.
I do have a few questions though just because I need to understand more in-depth – please forgive my questions if it sounds immature – . I grew up in a completely different country therefore sometimes my comprehension and understanding is not that good.
In one of the Bible studies that I read, you had mentioned that we were all created in Spirit before we came to earth – and we were warriors for God (given the choice to chose) . Does that mean that when I was born God breathe into me His Spirit and thru my journey (i was born into a Buddhist family for many generations) I became a Christian because I was once in a spiritual realm and chose to fight for God instead of satan?
I have been praying for my family to come to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, there are days when my prayer is like warriors and there are days when my prayer is like a heavy burden on my shoulder. I feel my prayer has been in vain many times and at times I feel helpless and hopeless. Is that because in the spirit realm my family have decided to follow satan before they came to the flesh? I know this is a very weird question – but I wonder if this is the case? You also mentioned that the only one that is hopeless is satan which means my family can still come to know God the way I did if they chose to.
My other question is about tithing. I have this heaviness in my heart because my husband don’t believe in giving to churches due to what they do with the money, I can see his point – but at the same time I feel guilty because my church constantly talks about the 10% tithe and the blessings of God when you give. I always feel if I don’t give i will be punished – that God will start making bad things happen in my family and my life. I am a working American citizen and don’t have much to give – I give my time to the church and tithe the little that I have in my account is that enough. I believe America is a great country and I am so blessed to be here, but at the same time from my opinion I think we have a lot of people in our population that we can help instead of helping others from other countries (Africa, Mexico, etc). Why don’t we (the churches) help our own people? Is it because we need to spread the gospel to the whole world and that is part of the reason why churches are helping other countries instead of our own? We need God more than ever – but it seems the churches are doing nothing but sending money and resources to help other countries.
On the Holy Spirit – speaking in cloven tongue – I believe I receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when I was in worship in Breakfast Club in my country. It was joy unspeakable. and I always wonder what it meant – it was lots of babel words that I cannot comprehend. if I read your Bible Study right, you mentioned at that time when the fire of tongue came to the apostles they were all speaking in cloven tongue but the receiver hear it in their own language. The cloven tongue can be in babels, however the Holy Spirit was able to translate the words so the receivers can understand what was being said. Is that correct?
I definitely want to know more of Gods Word and His truth – where do I start in the Shepherds Chapel without getting lost in translation since I am very new to this findings?
I really appreciate your time and all that you do in this webpage. I am sorry to bring all these questions to you but I definitely would like answers that you can support with Bible verses.
Thank you –
Hungry for more of God.

Answer: Thank you for the question and I am very happy to hear you found us. When we rightly divide God’s Word it surely connects together like puzzle pieces, I have always felt the same way. Your letter is just fine, knowing that you are from another nation and another religion no less is surely a witness in itself for the rest of our readers. I know how deeply rooted buddhism is in the Asian culture. We are going to cover all of your questions and for our response to flow better for you and our readers we are going to place your questions in quotes and indented.
Question: “In one of the Bible studies that I read, you had mentioned that we were all created in Spirit before we came to earth – and we were warriors for God (given the choice to chose) . Does that mean that when I was born God breathe into me His Spirit and thru my journey (i was born into a Buddhist family for many generations) I became a Christian because I was once in a spiritual realm and chose to fight for God instead of satan?”
Let me clarify, there was an entire earth age before the present age of flesh we live in today. When Satan rebelled against God that marked the overthrow of Satan and the moment in time when we all had a choice to make. To choose God or Satan. During that time mankind lived on earth in our true bodies, which are our spiritual bodies that never get sick, old or die. I would like to make it clear though it was not a spiritual realm as you might think of it.
Understand, a spiritual body has mass just as we do. Meaning a spiritual body, like the angels have, can leave a foot print. A spiritual body is simply made of another material other than flesh, one that is not corruptible as Paul would describe in 1 Corinthians 15:35-55. The body types are very similar as both flesh and spiritual bodies can be sustained by the same food. We can document this all throughout the Bible, one example can be found in Genesis 19:1-3 where the angels dined with Lot in Sodom. Further, Moses and the Israelites consumed angels food as they wandered in the wilderness (Exodus 16, John 6:31).
Does it mean you stood with God in The First Earth Age? Most likely since you are seeking God now in this age of flesh where our belief comes through faith, but that is only our opinion.
Question: “I have been praying for my family to come to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, there are days when my prayer is like warriors and there are days when my prayer is like a heavy burden on my shoulder. I feel my prayer has been in vain many times and at times I feel helpless and hopeless. Is that because in the spirit realm my family have decided to follow satan before they came to the flesh? I know this is a very weird question – but I wonder if this is the case? You also mentioned that the only one that is hopeless is satan which means my family can still come to know God the way I did if they chose to.”
There is nothing weird about your question. You are seeking the Lord and looking for your family to accept Him as well, that is highly admirable. When you share God’s Word you are effectively planting a seed with that individual. You cannot make that seed grow, meaning you cannot make that individual accept God’s Word and grow into a mature Christian. We can plant the seed (God’s Word) with the individual, but we cannot make it grow. That is up to God (1 Corinthians 3:6-9). This is a very important concept to understand. Some people will throw all their knowledge at someone thinking they are doing good and they drown the seed and kill it off. Plant the seed and let it be. Remember, lead by example and be a strong woman for God. Your family will see the example you are setting and notice that you are blessed for it.
Your prayers are never in vain, your work for the Lord is never in vain and you helping your family is working for the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58). Your prayers are so special to our Father He even has them bottled (Revelation 5:8).
That is absolutely correct, Satan is the only one that is hopeless. He is already condemned to death (Ezekiel 28:18-19). In this age of flesh we all have the right to choose between God and Satan. That is the entire reason for this age of flesh to begin with.
Your family certainly has the opportunity to accept God. Our Father “is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance,” (2 Peter 3:9). God loves all of His children and He wants them all to be saved, but they do need to seek Him. Do not forget though, we do have the Millennium which is the one thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ for those who never had the opportunity to hear real truth.
Question: “My other question is about tithing. I have this heaviness in my heart because my husband don’t believe in giving to churches due to what they do with the money, I can see his point – but at the same time I feel guilty because my church constantly talks about the 10% tithe and the blessings of God when you give. Is it because we need to spread the gospel to the whole world and that is part of the reason why churches are helping other countries instead of our own? We need God more than ever – but it seems the churches are doing nothing but sending money and resources to help other countries.”
Understand in the days of tithes the church took care of the people. Today the government takes at least 30% of your paycheck before you see it. Then add in all of the other taxes and fees we pay everyday and that does not leave a lot left over. God does not want you to be destitute, He wants you to share His Word with the world (Mark 16:15). You are offering your time to God and that is worth far more than a few dollars in the church till. It is easy to throw a couple of dollars to a cause, it is quite another thing to take the time and invest it in what you believe in.
Do not allow your family to go without because the church is looking for your money. Anyone who will not provide for his or her family “is worse than an infidel” (1 Timothy 5:8). So do not allow a church to take all of your money and lay a guilt trip on you. Never ever feel guilty about it. If your church is constantly talking about money, then that is what is on their mind. You can tell a lot about someone by what comes out of their mouth. We are going to spend some time on this subject, please turn your Bible with me to,
38 “And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,”
Who said? Jesus Christ said beware of the scribes who put on a big show claiming to stand for God. A humble servant of God shows they are humble leading by example. They do not need to say it and put on huge displays of “holiness“.
39 “And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:”
40 “Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.”
Christ is talking about church leaders and those putting on great displays of so-called righteousness. Christ is telling us beware of these people especially the church leaders no less who will even take from widows’.
41 “And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.”
The church till right there so everyone could see, that is not how our Father operates and we will document that in a moment.
42 “And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.”
This woman was dirt poor, yet she did what she could. Does that mean she is less in the eyes of God because the rich men placed more money into the treasury? Absolutely not. Listen to the Words of Christ.
43 “And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:”
44 “For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”
That poor woman cast in more than all of those rich men. Why? Because the little she cast in was all that she had. That is powerful faith in our Father.
How does God want us to act? Humbly before Him and before men. Let your actions speak for themselves.
1 “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.”
2 “Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.”
Christ has made it abundantly clear, do not make a big deal out of your good deeds and that certainly includes your contribution to the church. Do it humbly before your Father and you will be rewarded for it. Notice, there is a reward for those hypocrites and you certainly do not want their reward.
3 “But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:”
4 “That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”
Are we looking to impress men or a church? Absolutely not. We are looking to impress our Father, to make Him proud we are His children. It is worth noting we have the same example for prayer in verses 5-6.
I will say I have been to churches where they pass the plate which I find absolutely disgusting. The entire point of that is for showmanship. ‘Look how much I put in brother‘. Showing your alms before men.
You read what Christ said about that. I take this subject very seriously as too many churches take from the people, but do not give enough back. The tactics they use to raise money is disturbing to say the least. I have been to churches where people change their personalities as they go on stage closing their eyes talking to the people like they are moved. Be yourself and act like yourself not a pretender. I have been to churches where they show you movies of their causes laying a guilt trip on you for 30 minutes or more. Then out comes the ol church till in the form of a passing plate. That 30 minutes could have been devoted to God instead.
I have heard Christian radio stations tell the people ‘give even if it is your last dime and God will provide‘. We read about that in the account of Mark, but that poor woman did it of her own accord. She was not conned into doing it. That radio station should use some of their own medicine, if they are so certain God will provide for them then why are they begging the people for money to begin with? I find it all quite sickening.
So I do not fault your husband, more importantly God does not fault you or your family.
I agree with you, this nation needs a lot of help from the churches and most importantly the people need spiritual help from the churches. Yet we are seeing the exact opposite. Mainstream Christianity has failed the people and more importantly they have failed our Father. Remember, they will have their reward as we read and it will not be sweet.
To wrap up this section of your question. If you feel led to give and you believe the church is helping you grow spiritual then feel free to contribute, but you do not have to tithe. A donation is fine. Remember, if you are contributing your time that is even more valuable than any paper currency.
Finally, as 2 John 1:10-11 documents if the church is teaching anything other than what God’s Word actually says and you help that church you are essentially going to reap the reward of their evil deeds.
Question: “On the Holy Spirit – speaking in cloven tongue – I believe I receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when I was in worship in Breakfast Club in my country. Is that correct?”
The first thing you need to understand about this subject is “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace,” (1 Corinthians 14:33). The peace that comes to our hearts and minds from the clarity found in His Word. You stated yourself you heard babel speech and you could not understand it. Does that sound like it was from God? Of course not. Christ already promised us the Comforter which is the Holy Spirit and if you are in Christ then the Spirit is in you (Romans 8:8-11, John 14:16).
Christians who claim to have the Holy Spirit and speak gibberish which are the babel words you heard are either lying to you or they have some other spirit that is not from God. Many of these people are performing the showmanship we read of earlier, they are seeking attention, while others are so-called teachers wishing to fill their church and church tills. I believe you read our study, “The Lesson of Pentecost Day“. I will now provide an excerpt from that study.
3 “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.”
4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
The Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit, God’s Spirit who gave them this gift.
This word “cloven” is Strong’s word 1266 meaning, “to partition or divide“. What are we partitioning? “Tongues” which is Strong’s word 1100 meaning, “a language.” We are not talking about babel speech or some secret language as we will learn shortly, the words spoken by the Apostles were understood by everyone. They spoke and the Holy Spirit caused that speech to be understood by everyone in attendance in their own native language.
Only our Father can accomplish a miracle like this, if we recall from Genesis 11:6-7 the people of the world were all of one language at one time. It was our Father who then confounded the languages of man to begin with so He can certainly remove that confusion if He so desires.
5 “And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.”
Jews which is to say Judeans, meaning those who are of the blood line of Judah or those residing in Judea claiming to be Jews.
6 “Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.”
No matter who was in attendance, a Russian speaking person, Japanese or Spanish it did not matter, they all heard the Apostles speak to them in their own language and they understood it. This is in fact the “cloven tongue,” one voice understood in every language.
7 “And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?”
8 “And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?”
The multitude was astounded as they understood the Apostles, in the very dialect of the town they were born in. This is going to be repeated in the near future when the Elect are delivered up.
9 “Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,”
10 “Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,”
11 “Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.”
There was no confusion, rather extreme clarity due to the gift of God.
We just covered what the cloven tongues were all about right from our Father’s Letter. They were about “the wonderful works of God.“ They were understood by everyone in attendance in their own language.
The disciples did not speak gibberish babel speech. They spoke in their own native language which was Galilean, yet their words were understood by everyone in attendance in their own language even down to the very accent where they were from.
That is not babel or confusion. That is clarity, that is peace brought forward by our Father’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit.
Question: “I definitely want to know more of Gods Word and His truth – where do I start in the Shepherds Chapel without getting lost in translation since I am very new to this findings?”
The Shepherd’s Chapel is very good for verse by verse studies. I would recommend you start in the beginning with Genesis. If you understand the beginning the entire Word will flow that much easier. We have a link under our “Resources –> Bible Resources” section with audio studies from them.
Question: “I really appreciate your time and all that you do in this webpage. I am sorry to bring all these questions to you but I definitely would like answers that you can support with Bible verses.”
You are very welcome. We are more than happy to help and please submit any follow-up questions you may have in the future. Just take your time with what we have laid out here and seek your Father in prayer for understanding. I know He is proud of you.
Question: God’s name is Jehova but, Since Jesus’ time, is God’s new name we refer to Him by Jesus Christ or is that separate and God’s name is still Jehova? ( I know they are One, but I’m only meaning what is the proper way to regard God by, Jehova or Jesus Christ or both names? )
Thank You in advance for your answer!

Answer: Thank you for the question Nichole.
I noticed you spelled God’s name as “Jehova” which I take it was an error… In either case, let us document it so everyone is on the same page.
First, you will find God’s name “Jehovah” in the King James Version Bible only four times in English (Exodus 6:3, Psalms 83:18, Isaiah 12:2, Isaiah 26:4). This is interesting as “Jehovah” is Strong Concordance word “3068“. Yet, you will find this word “3068” in the Bible thousands of times, yet in those instances the Bible translators translated the word as “LORD“. The fact is “Jehovah” should be in the Bible thousands of times, not just four. This is one example of many that document why we need to analyze the Word for ourselves. The Bible translators certainly made errors and their work should be proof read as they recommended.
Let us look at our Father’s name, “Jehovah” from the Strong’s Concordance which again, is word 3068 as used in Genesis 2:4.
(the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: – Jehovah, the Lord. Compare H3050, H3069.
Notice the prime of the word is “YHVH” in bold and caps. The characters above this are the actual Hebrew characters of His name which I have above the door inside my home. Some refer to God as “YHVH” pronounced in Hebrew as “yeh-ho-vaw’“. Since I speak English I like to say, “Jehovah“, though I rarely use God’s name. My personal preference is to call Him, Father or God since we are His children.
One final note on His name. Some people will mention there is no “J” in the Hebrew language which is true, “Jehovah” is simply the English equivalent. Those same people forget the Greek language does not have a “J” either, yet they say “Jesus“. Go figure. I would advise everyone, do not make the Word complicated and trick yourself in the process, some people make entirely new religions out of the material I covered in this paragraph alone.
To answer your question, God, the Creator, our Father is Jehovah while the Son, our Mediator is Jesus (2424 from 3091 meaning, “Jehovah Saved”) Christ (5547 meaning, “anointed, that is, the Messiah”) who is our Lord and Savior. So reserve the name and title for each one of them (1 Timothy 2:5, Luke 2:11).
You touched on something that baffles Christianity, your statement about the three being one. 1 John 5:7 is often cited as documentation to validate that statement as it states, “the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one“.
Unfortunately, this phrase was added to our KJV Bibles and is only found in manuscripts from the 1500s (AD) and newer. None of the older manuscripts have this phrase, which is why you will not find it in most Bibles including the ASV, RV and even NIV translations.
What I have crossed out below has been added to the KJV Bible and the words remaining are the only ones found in the older manuscripts.
1 John 5:7
7 “For there are three that bear record
in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 8 “And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”
Understanding that, we will now turn our Bible to,
14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Jesus Christ is the Word that was made flesh and lived among men and He is the only begotten Son. So between these two verses we have; The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit who are One.
While they are one, I believe there is a bit more here than would meet the eye. I believe the Father and Son are connected by the Holy Spirit and this is the reason the Bible says they are One. However, I do not believe God has one body and all three of them live in it together.
Let me provide an example of my point and I will cap it off with scriptural proof. We, Christians are known as the many membered body of Christ. We “are one body in Christ,” yet there are many different parts of that body. Some people are the legs of the body which move it around while others are the brains that do the thinking, but together we all serve the same purpose which is to bring forward the Gospel to the world (Romans 12:4-5, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27). Everyone can understand that. We are one, yet we are all separate people. I am one with you, though I am possible thousands of miles away from you. How then can we be considered one? We are one through the Holy Spirit just as the Father and the Son are. Please turn your Bible with me to,
4 “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;”
5 “One Lord, one faith, one baptism,”
6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
The Father is above all and His Spirit, the Holy Spirit certainly works through us all.
Now for the scriptural proof I promised. Several places in the Bible document God and Christ in separate locations and how can we forget Christ’s time on earth alone. We are to rightly divide the Word of God, so let us do that.
What happened when Christ ascended into Heaven shortly after He rose from the dead? “he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God,” (Mark 16:19). Jesus Christ did what? He sat on the right Hand of God. If they were all in the same body, it would be impossible for Christ to sit on God’s Right Hand.
We also know after the reign of Satan who is the Antichrist, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will return. (Revelation 19:11-16). However, God, the Father does not return to the earth until the Eternity which is after the Millennium.
Please turn your Bible with me to,
4 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
This verse transpires at the beginning of the Millennium which is just after the Tribulation of Satan. Did they live with God and Christ at the same time? No. The Saints, those who stood against Satan during the Tribulation will reign as priests with Jesus Christ on earth for the one thousand-year Millennial period while God remains in Heaven (Revelation 20:6). What happens after the Millennium?
2 “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
This moment in time does not occur until after the Millennium and the destruction of Satan and those who wish to follow him.
3 “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”
You will notice, then and only then, on the first day of the Eternity after death itself has been destroyed will God Himself (a clear indication of separation from the Son) come to the earth and dwell with man. Things will finally be put back the way God intended and originally created them. Then will the words be fulfilled…
4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
During the week we had some comments concerning God and Christ being One and understanding who the Creator is, we will address that here.
God uses nature in order for us to understand Him and His Word. Naturally God is referred to as the Father while Jesus Christ is referred to as the only begotten Son (2 John 1:3, John 3:16). This alone should document for us there is certainly a difference between the two. Christ is the begotten Son, which means the Son born. Do not read over that. Think about it.
With that laid out, it is our Father who is the Creator of all, not Jesus Christ (Psalms 102:24-25). Please turn your Bible with me to,
6 “Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.”
What did we say earlier in this question? “LORD” in all uppercase means “Jehovah“, so we are talking about the Father who created everything in existence. Isaiah 42:5 adds another witness to this among many other scriptures.
I would now like you to turn your Bible with me to,
1 Corinthians 8:6
6 “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”
This word “by” is Strong’s word 1223 which means, “through“. God our Father created the Heavens and earth “through” Jesus Christ simply meaning Christ had His part in it, but it was orchestrated by our Father the Great Potter (Isaiah 64:8). John 1:3 also has this same reference where the word “by” is used which again is Strong’s word 1223 meaning “through” and for those with a Companion Bible Dr. E.W. Bullinger notes this in the column for you as well.
Two more verses to document the point.
1 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,”
The subject being discussed is God, the Father.
2 “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;”
There is that word again, “by“, still 1223 in the Strong’s meaning “through“. So we have God, the Father who has spoken to us through the Son Jesus Christ and “through” Christ the Father made the world.
EDIT: Final considerations: Please turn your Bible with me to,
16 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:”
17 “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
It was not just a voice, it was the Father’s voice indicating the Father was in Heaven while the Son was on earth both at the same instant in time. Documenting the point that the Holy Spirit works between them bringing them together. Matthew 17:5 also offers these same words from our Father when Christ was transfigured.
Only through prayer and rightly dividing the Word of Truth can we hope to understand the Bible.
