Before we get into this week’s questions we would like to point out that you are helping to spread the Word of God by your continued submission of questions. Due to your ongoing participation, these Bible Q&A posts have been read thousands of times. Without your participation, this section of our site would not exist.

Bible Question and Answer

Question 1:

Name: Mari
Question: Were Jesus’ legs broken when he was crucified?

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question Mari and not a chance. Why? Christ was to be the perfect sacrifice, to replace the blood ordinances of the past. Blood sacrifice never pleased God, but they were required by our Father in order to give man some sense of cost for their sins (Hebrews 10:1-14).

I recommend you read our Bible study, “Passover: Why We Should Be Celebrating It As Christians“. In this study you will learn about the passover of old and how Christ fulfilled it by becoming our Passover Lamb. In Exodus 12 our Father would tell Moses, “Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats” and in verse 46 we are told “neither shall ye break a bone thereof“.

Christ fulfilled this in every sense of the word down to the time of the slaughter of the passover lambs of old.

Please turn your Bible with me to,

John 19:31
31 “The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.”

Jews,” meaning those either of the tribe of Judah or residents of the region known as Judah and we certainly know Satan’s children like to go by their name.

The bodies were not to remain up overnight especially considering the next day was to be the Sabbath.

John 19:32
32 “Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.”

The soldiers would break the legs of those being crucified in order to bring death about much faster.

John 19:33,35-36
33 “But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:”

35 “And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.”

36For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.”

Our Father’s Word is so complete.

Mari as a side study for you, in Mark 15:34 when Christ would cry out “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Christ was actually teaching Psalms 22 with his final breath.

Question 2:

Name: Linda
Question: Thanks Brandon you do a great job. Question : Any idea on how we are to pay our utilities like power bill during the 5 months.

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question Linda and the kind words. Our Father always receives the glory.

Linda is asking how to pay bills during the Tribulation of Satan as those who stand against Satan will not be able to buy or sell (Revelation 13:17). Linda if you already own your home that is certainly a big advantage, just make sure your property taxes are squared away. As for utility bills you can pay in advance which will leave a credit on your account, check with your provider to be certain this applies in your region.

If you are financially able, you can pay it all at once or pay a little over on each of your monthly bills to build up a credit overtime that will eventually cover you for that five month period. You can also do this for your water bill, etc if you have it.

I will say, this strategy is not a guarantee that you will have service during the Tribulation. It is only one option of many that we can try in preperation for the Tribulation of Satan.

Concerning the Tribulation being five months in length, we document this throughly in Chapter 5 of “The Timeline of the Tribulation” which will be published in a few more weeks.

Question 3:

Name: Dennis
Question: Do all people regardless of believes or not spend the millennium with Christ? Can I please have scripture to back this up? Or do I misunderstand the pastors teaching? Thanking you in advance.

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Dennis thank you for the question. You may have mistaken our site, World Events and the Bible for another site. We do not have any pastors here. Let us answer your question anyway.

In a Bible Q&A from 6-5-2015 we discussed what happens to sinners after death. You will find in that Q&A session that there is a great gulf in Heaven, which simply means a divide. A division between what? Basically, between good and bad. There will be sinners and the wicked on one side and the righteous on the other. We went into great depths in that Q&A, please reference it for Biblical documentation which I think will help you.

While there will be a divide, during the Millennium those who take “part in the first resurrection, shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years,” (Revelation 20:6). Naturally, they are the righteous who will be teachers, and their mission will be to echo the Words of Christ in Mark 2:16, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

These priests of God and Christ will no doubt teach those of the wrong side of the gulf about our Father and His Word. It will not be a time where “faith” is rewarded as they will be able to see Christ just as the Rich Man was able to see Lazarus and Abraham. Further, everyone will be in their true body which is our spiritual body that never gets sick, old or dies. The sinners on the wrong side of the gulf will know they are in Heaven upon their death and during the Millennium (2 Corinthians 5:8).

In Revelation 20:5 you will note it states, “the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished“. They do not obtain eternal life, unless they prove themselves during the Millennium. Everyone returns to the Father upon death and they are “aware” and alive as we outlined in the Bible Q&A I linked.

Please turn your Bible with me to,

Revelation 20:11
11 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”

This occurs at the very end of the Millennium. This is in fact Judgement Day and it is our Father who sits on this Throne and He who issues the Judgement. We should understand Judgement Day is only bad for those who stand against our Father. For those who stand by Him and love Him great rewards will be issued at this time (Daniel 7:26-27, Revelation 22:12).

Revelation 20:12
12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

They are called “the dead” as they are spiritually dead. If you are not in Christ you have no eternal life and are dead.  If they do not pass this final test they are cast into the lake of fire, “this is the second death(Revelation 20:14). Obviously, dead men cannot stand so that should help to make the point. How are we all judged? According to our works.

It is true at the time of Christ’s death He did go back to those on the other side of the gulf and teach them. Aside from that instance there is no record of Christ going near them in Heaven (1 Peter 3:18-19).

Question 4:

Name: Karen
Question: If it says Easter in the bible does that mean it’s a bad translation?

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: It sounds like someone has been paying attention. Thank you for the question Karen, that is correct. To be specific, it means the word “easter” was translated incorrectly not necessarily the Bible you are using. Though I will say, every Bible there is including our good ol King James has translation errors.

The word “easter” was placed into the King James Bible one time and what a horrible mistake it was. You will find it in Acts 12:4. “Easter” is Strong’s word G3957 and it means, “Passover“. We should not celebrate “easter” which is simply a replacement for Christ. No where in our Father’s Word does it say to play rabbits and eggs on Christ’s High Holy Day.

All the children remember growing up is “easter baskets” and “egg hunts.” I know as I grew up that way myself until I became a bit older and thought, ‘where did a rabbits come from if it is supposed to be about Christ?‘ You know Karen, wickedness seeped into the church in Ezra’s day and not much has changed has it (Ezra 8:15-20)?

We have two studies on the subject I would like you to read titled,
