“But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.”
In verses 14-16 we are reminded that we are merely of dust. We are like the flower that peaks in full bloom and while it is beautiful, it soon withers and fades back into dust. We are just like that. We are so young and vibrate at one point in time, but age catches up with us and in the end, we end up just like that flower though we return to the Father (2 Corinthians 5:8).
Verses 17-18 provide us with hope of our Father’s promise. Our Father’s mercy never ends for those that “fear” Him which is Strong’s word H3373 and it simply means to “revere” God which means to “respect” Him, to love Him. Notice that, God’s mercy is not for all. Only those who “revere” Him. Do you “revere” our Father?
God’s righteousness spans generations, from our children down to their children on and on forever.
All we must do is honor our Father, love Him and follow his Laws and His promises will be applied to our lives. Do not forget to claim them (Isaiah 43:26).
