Bible Verse of the Day

Bible Verse of the Day

Psalm 119:114

“Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.”

Our Father is our protector, that is the point here. This shield of protection should remind you of Ephesians 6 which tells us, “put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” (Ephesians 6:11).

This is why we equip ourselves with the Gospel Armour, to stand against Satan. What is this shield for?

Ephesians 6:16
16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Our shield is symbolic for our faith. How much of it do you have? How topped off is your oil lamp which provides light for your path and is symbolic for this Gospel Armour?

We need a strong shield in order to extinguish the fiery darts of the wicked and who is the wicked? Satan, his children, angels and those who wish to follow after him.

Turn with me to,

2 Thessalonians 2:8-9
8 “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:”

9 “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,”

The wicked is Satan. If you reference the word “wicked” from Ephesians 6:16 in your Strong’s Concordance you will see one of the meanings for the word is “the devil” and of course that is the subject from verse 11.

2 Thessalonians 2 simply offers us details into this and provides you with timing for the day that we must stand tall and strong in.

Hope in His Word“, it is truth and it is everlasting.
