Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation army Gadi Eizenkot said that the Israeli army had resumed attacks on Syrian sites, Quds Press reported yesterday.

Eizenkot said the attacks had resumed after an Israeli fighter jet was downed by the Syrian defence last month.

Israel has claimed it attacks bases in Syria used by Iran and Hezbollah

Regarding Israeli “security”, Eizenkot pledged to complete building the wall around the Gaza Strip by the end of 2018.

He also revealed that the Israeli army would be allowed to use live ammunition if Palestinians targeted Israeli infrastructure when they launch the Great March of Return near the Gaza-Israeli borders tomorrow. Protests are expected to be held to mark Land Day and go on for six weeks until Nakba Day.

“We are reinforcing the barriers [along the Gaza-Israel border] while large numbers of [Israeli] soldiers will be stationed in the area to prevent infiltration attempts,” he said.

Soldiers have received permission to open fire on protesters “if Israeli security infrastructure comes under threat,” Eizenkot told Israeli daily Maariv.

He also said that Iran is not courageous enough to get close to the borders of the occupied Golan Heights and Hezbollah does not have missiles to attack identified targeted in the occupied Syrian land.
