WEB Notes: Can you people believe this? 30 companies in the business to make money off of loans refused to provide that service to Remington due to the fact they manufacture firearms. I am willing to bet, if Remington called on the public for support they would get it. The effort being put forward to remove our rights is greater now than any other time in history.
For Remington Outdoor Co., one of the oldest firearms makers in the U.S., not even going bankrupt is easy these days.
At a time when gun-control demonstrations have unfolded across the nation and the world, 30 lenders declined to provide bankruptcy financing for the company, according to court filings. Moreover, the names of others that did extend loans were blacked out from court documents.
In the end, two prominent financial companies — Franklin Resources Inc. and a unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co. — ended up giving Remington the bulk of the $100 million loan.
