WEB Notes: The article summary goes like this, “Researchers have demonstrated they can efficiently improve the DNA of human embryos.” So mankind is going to improve God’s Creation now, how about that. They tried before and take a look around our world today. We have pollution all over the place, our oceans are filled with trash and we pollute our crops with poison that we know is harmful. We have genetically modified food that is so common it is hard to find food that is not GMO. Some scientists call the GMO food process the biggest untested science experiment in history. But hey folks, these guys know what they are talking about and they will make mankind… Better (insert sarcasm).
The effort, led by Shoukhrat Mitalipov of Oregon Health and Science University, involved changing the DNA of a large number of one-cell embryos with the gene-editing technique CRISPR, according to people familiar with the scientific results.
Until now, American scientists have watched with a combination of awe, envy, and some alarm as scientists elsewhere were first to explore the controversial practice. To date, three previous reports of editing human embryos were all published by scientists in China.
