Answer: Great question Nichole, let’s talk about it.

God is against homosexuality, He made that clear in the Old Testament and the New Testament. We are going to learn, while “God is love” and wants everyone to be saved, God actually hates the soul of those who enjoy sin, (1 John 4:8).

Homosexuality Is A Sin

Homosexuality is a great sin as we are going to learn.

That means God is against gay marriage and any other form of homosexual behavior.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

It really does not become any more clear than this. God is against homosexuality.

Yet, some will say, “but that is the Old Testament”.

The Old Testament is still very valid. Christ did not come to change the law, but to fulfill it. In fact, Jesus said, “one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law”, (Matthew 5:17-18).

The Bible said it is a sin to be gay, worthy of death.

We also know, Christ is “the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”, (Hebrews 13:8). So there should be no doubt in your mind, Leviticus 20:13 is still valid.

Nevertheless, we are going to see what the New Testament has to say about homosexuality.

New Testament On Homosexuality

1 Corinthians 6:9
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

“Abusers of themselves with mankind” is someone who participates in a homosexual act. God made it very clear, they will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

That means being gay is a sin.

Plain and simple.

No excuse making.

Further, “effeminate” not only describes a gay man who acts like a woman. “Effeminate” also means “catamite”, which is “a boy or youth who is in a sexual relationship with a man.” That describes pedophilia, that is filth, that is perversion, and God is against it.

Let’s see what the book of Romans has to say.

Romans 1:26-27
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

That is also a homosexual act, that is being gay.

Our Father created man and woman, and they are to become one flesh when they have a child, (Genesis 2:24). Two men or two women cannot produce children, that is not a union that God supports or designed. Homosexuality is a perversion and God is against it.

The word “unseemly” means,

“Indecency; by implication the pudenda: – shame”.

The “pudenda” is “the external genital organ”, we are talking about a homosexual act between two men. Let there be no doubt in your mind, homosexuals will have no part in God’s Kingdom.

If someone has found themselves in error, and they live in sin, that does not mean they cannot repent. They can repent, but they need to acknowledge their sin no matter what it is. Cease from the sin, and ask God for forgiveness, and ask Him to help them sin no more.

God Hates The Wicked

We should understand there is a big difference between “sin” and “wickedness”. While we have all sinned, we feel remorseful about it. On the other hand, someone who is wicked could not care less.

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Clearly stated, God hates the soul of the wicked, and those who love violence. Now think about that for a moment.

Those who understand God is against homosexuality and pedophilia, yet take part in those acts have taken “pleasure in unrighteousness”, (2 Thessalonians 2:12).

That is “wicked” behavior which means,

Morally wrong; concretely an (actively) bad person: – + condemned, guilty, ungodly, wicked (man), that did wrong.

Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall bethe portion of their cup.

While society now promotes homosexuality and attempts to do the same for pedophilia, no one should take these sins lightly. God is not only against them, He hates them, and He will destroy those who take part in homosexual sins if they do not repent.

Now what cup is being discussed here?

The Cup of Wrath from the Book of Revelation, and this is merely a taste of it, (Revelation 14:10, 16:19). Remember, God hates Satan, and our Father is going to kill him and those who follow Satan at the end of the Millennium, (Ezekiel 28:12-19, Isaiah 14:12-16).

God Does Not Want Anyone To Perish

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Naturally, God does not want a single soul to perish. He created all of us, we are His children. God would love nothing more than for us to live with Him happily in His Eternal Paradise of Peace.

In fact, God also said,

Ezekiel 33:11
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

These verses clearly display the love of our Heavenly Father. He has provided every possible opportunity for sinners and the wicked to repent.

This was made possible when God sacrificed His only Begotten Son for us.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If we simply believe in Jesus Christ, repent from our sins, and live our life by the Word of God, then we can obtain Eternal Life.

Repent And Wash Away Your Sins

Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

When we sin, we must go to God in prayer and “repent” which means,

To think differently or afterwards, that is, reconsider (morally to feel compunction): – repent.

We can ask God to help us cease our sins, homosexual or not. Then we must put in the effort and stop sinning, all while keeping God in prayer. When we accomplish that through God’s gracious gifts, notice what happens.

Our sins are “blotted” out which means,

To smear out, that is, obliterate (erase tears, figuratively pardon sin): – blot out, wipe away.

When we repent and truly change our ways, God completely erases our sin. He preserves our name in the Book of Life. Through Christ, we then obtain Eternal Life where,

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Revelation 21:4

How can anything else compare?

Those who hate God, those who refuse to follow His Word and adhere to His Law, homosexual or not, will be cast into the Lake of Fire if they do not repent. While the world will continue to make excuses for sinners, including homosexuals, that does not change what God said.
