How Long Was God Alone Until He Created Everything?
Welcome to Bible Question and Answer, our bi-weekly series where we provide Bible verses, answers and advice to the questions and concerns you have. During the course of the last two weeks readers have submitted their questions and today we are going to answer one of them.
Question: Since God never had a beginning or was never created, then obviously He has always been in existence. Since He created everything and everyone, then all that He created had a beginning. Which to me would indicate there had to be some amount of time that God was alone until He decided to create all that He did. Am I wrong to ponder this? I am not saying I am right or on to something. But it seems to make sense or am I missing something? Thanks for any input on this thought.

Answer: Lance, thank you for the question.
I think anytime we think about our Father that is a good thing and I am sure He appreciates it. The thing concerning this subject is time itself. Time truly means nothing to God as He does not age and that is something we cannot wrap our minds around in the flesh as everything around us has a beginning and ending.
We know a day with the Lord is as a thousand years to man (Psalms 90:4, 2 Peter 3:8).
I am not sure if you realize it or not Lance, but there was an earth age before the one we presently find ourselves in. Before our present age of what we will call, “flesh,” mankind live in their true bodies which are our spiritual bodies that never get sick, old or die.
Satan rebelled against God in that earth age and that has brought us into this age of flesh where we have been placed in order to make up our minds who we will follow, God or Satan.
We have a couple of Bible studies on this topic that you will find below, they will help to answer some of what you are asking here.
