Question: If there was an earth age before this one, how old are our souls if we existed before? Scientist say the earth has been here 4.54 billion years, but some pastors say it’s only existed 6,000 years. Also, do you believe our soul (in the first earth age) did something right in the Lords eyes to be allowed come to this second earth age?

Answer: Thank you for the question Chelsie.
There is no way to tell for sure how old our souls really are. That is a question only God will be able to answer for us.
Science does tell us the earth is 4.54 billion years old, but even that is a guess which has changed numerous times over the years. The problem is, there is nothing that old to date.
However, one thing is certain, the earth is far older than 6,000 years old no matter what some pastor may say.
How can I be so certain?
Our Father’s Letter declares it, that is why.
Turn your Bible with me to,
2 Peter 3:8
8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
This verse is a key, one that enables us to understand the age of the Heaven and earth “which are now,” (2 Peter 3:7).
How many Days of Genesis were there?
Seven total days and our Father rested on the Seventh Day, (Genesis 2:2). So if a Day with the Lord is a thousand years and we had seven of the Lord’s Days, how many years transpired?
What happened on what would be the eighth day then, the day after the Seventh?
Our Father created Adam, “the man Adam,” and from the time of Adam to our present day another six thousand years have transpired.
So let us take a step back.
In Genesis, we have the works of our Father during the first Six Days of Genesis. He rested on the Seventh Day and created Adam on the day after the Sabbath which would naturally be the beginning of the eighth day.
The Bible does not say day eight alright?
However, if God rested for an entire day, what number comes after seven?
Obviously, eight and that is all we are talking about here.
So if we add the Seven Days of Genesis which each account for a 1,000 year period of time and understand there have been 6,000 years of time since the creation of Adam, then we should understand, “the Heavens and earth which are now” are roughly 13,000 years old, (2 Peter 3:7).
I did not say the earth and heavens are 13,000 years old. I said the age, as in the present age of flesh we find ourselves in. That would be from Genesis 1:2 to our present time. If we properly understand Scripture then we should understand Genesis 1:1 was the beginning which “became void and without form” due to Satan’s Rebellion.
You can learn more about this in our Bible study titled, “The World That Was, The First Earth Age“.
So how can the pastors of our time overlook the obvious fact the earth is at least 13,000 years old?
Your guess is as good as mine. I know they mean well, but they do need to focus a bit more of the Word of God and apply common sense to the Scriptures. Telling the world the earth is 6,000 years old is foolish and a great way to turn away a potential believer. We had our own first-hand experience of this teaching and could not believe the level some go to in order to explain a 6,000-year-old earth, (see: The Ark Encounter Is A False Teaching).
To answer your last question, the answer is no.
The good, bad and ugly are all born into this age of flesh in order to decide who they will follow; God or Satan. John 3:16 and Romans 10:9 document that, follow God or inherit death. Satan is death so it is pretty fitting I think (Hebrews 2:14).
Those who stood with our Father in “The First Earth Age” certainly did right by Him and we know some of them are even predestined in this age of flesh.
Predestined for what?
To share the Gospel throughout the generations to ensure that it reached us in these end times.
During the end times, there is another group of predestined individuals who are the Saints or Elect if you prefer. 144,000 individuals to be exact, they will all be Sealed with our Father’s Word before the days of Antichrist who is Satan, the days when the Tribulation unfolds (Revelation 7:3-8).
Chelsie, we have two Bible studies that I would love for you to read in order to document in depth what I have explained. They are:
