How Will The Antichrist Appear?

Name: Todd
Question: How will the Antichrist make his appearance, or entrance being cast from Heaven in your opinion?

Answer: Thank you for the question Todd.

The Bible tells us, Satan is cast out of Heaven, to the earth, by Michael and his Angels, (Revelation 12:7-9). We also know, Satan is the Antichrist. Now the specifics of his appearance are not given, other than he will appear in Jerusalem imitating the appearance of Jesus, (Acts 1:10-12, Matthew 24:29-31).

In our study “The Hour Of Temptation,” we go in detail describing how the people of the earth will worship Satan upon his appearance. So without a doubt, it will be a grand appearance, one the entire world will be aware of.

Scripture tells us, when Satan appears on earth, he will claim to be God, (2 Thessalonians 2:3-9). Interestingly enough, the “Anti” in “Antichrist” means “instead”. Satan is the “instead of Christ,” simply meaning, Satan will appear in the place of Jesus Christ.

So how does our Lord and Savior appear?

Matthew 24:27
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Everyone knows the sun rises in the East and sets in the West.

The appearance of Jesus will be known and understood in this fashion, and this is why the inhabitants of the earth will wish for rocks and mountains to fall on them, (Revelation 6:16). They will realize, in that moment, they were deceived by the “instead of Christ”.

We can then surmise that Satan’s appearance will also be “as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west”. This is why the entire world worships him, except for those with the Seal of God.

As Scripture explains, Satan will,

…exalteth himself above all that is called God… shewing himself that he is God.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-9

Satan will claim to be God.
