What Were We Like In The Beginning?

Name: Mary
Question: 1. Help me understand how man was in first earth age. I know all were spiritual bodies but I didn’t think spiritual bodies could sin so when God destroyed first earth age was it for something other than sin?

Answer: Thank you for the question Mary.

So our readers understand, the world that then was” is spoken of in 2 Peter 3:5-6. What is discussed in those verses and below is Biblically explained in my Bible study “In The Beginning: The World That Then Was” and “The Fall Of Satan”. Further, as 1 Corinthians 15:35-55 explains there is a celestial body (spiritual body) and a terrestrial body (flesh body) in case anyone is having difficulty understanding the different bodies.

Our Soul, Spirit, And Body

Unfortunately, Mary, when our soul was in our spiritual body during “The World That Was we were still able to sin and “The Fall Of Satan” was the reason why our Father destroyed “The World That Was“. We went into depth on this subject in our Bible study, “The Fall Of Satan“.

Remember, the body whether spiritual (celestial) or flesh (terrestrial) is simply the vessel that our soul resides in. Today on earth our soul which is our spirit resides in a body of flesh. When we die, or at the Return of Christ, whichever occurs first, our soul will reside in our true body which is our spiritual body that never gets sick, old or dies.

So it is our soul, our spirit that is good or bad. It is our spirit that chooses to do right or chooses to do wrong. Now our flesh body can certainly lead us into sin. Addictions to drugs, alcohol and lusting after the things of this world are a few examples of “desires of the flesh,” (Ephesians 2:3-5). Some of these examples are why our Father was grieved that He ever placed mankind on the earth in the flesh, (Genesis 6:6).

To better understand the difference between the body and the spirit, here is something for you to consider…

For many of us, when we talk to someone we can just tell they are a good (or bad) person, that is discernment working. We are not discerning the bag of bones they are walking around in. We are discerning their soul, their spirit, who they are.

The Destruction

When our Father destroyed “The World That Was” our souls naturally went back to our Father. The Scriptures do not specifically say that, but we know ‘all souls come from God‘ and “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord“, (Ecclesiastes 12:6-7, 2 Corinthians 5:8).

I do want to make it clear, no one has been destroyed. Our Father only destroyed “The World That Was“, the age itself, the time period that existed so long ago.

When Satan sinned during “The World That Was“, he caused one-third of God’s children to follow Satan which must have broken our Father’s heart, (Revelation12:3-4).

We know “the wages of sin is death” and “The Fall Of Satan” sealed his fate, (Isaiah 14:4-15, Romans 6:23). Our Father could have destroyed Satan on the spot, but then God would have had to kill His own children as well for their sin and betrayal.

Now let us think logically about this.

Can you even fathom killing one of your children?

Of course not.

Neither could our Father think about it, much less carry out the act.

So our Father created this age of flesh so we could decide for ourselves, being born innocent and without recollection of the prior age who we are going to follow.

God or Satan.

Our Father provided us with this time period so that we can be judged fairly and essentially seal our own fate. Even more importantly, it will have removed any chance of sin ever occurring during the Eternity when our Heavenly Father will live with us here on earth.

The Millennium

During the Millennium, our soul will once again be in our true body, those spiritual bodies that we have been discussing. Unfortunately, sin will still exist as you will learn in Revelation 20:7-10 and our Bible study, “The Fall Of Satan“. Yet, our Father puts an immediate end to it when it gets out of control and that is when Judgement Day transpires. The day when the soul itself is destroyed, the souls who refuse our Father. This would also include Satan, his remaining angels, and those who follow him.

Then and only then will all sin and wickedness be destroyed and that will mark the moment in time when our Father Himself will descend from Heaven and live with us (Revelation 20:11-15, 21:1-4)

Forever.
