The Fall Of Lucifer

In Isaiah 14:12-15 we have the fall of Lucifer. God tells Lucifer, “How art thou fallen from heaven”. This seems to indicate that Lucifer fell in the past, but if we continue reading, we discover that is not the case.

God continues,

“Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”

In actuality, God said Lucifer will be brought down to hell in the future, and this pit is even the bottomless pit.

Now, “hell” means the grave, and Revelation 20:14 explains, “death and hell were cast into the lake of fire”. That is exactly where Lucifer is going, and that will occur at the end of the Millennium, just before the Eternity.

Ezekiel 28:14-19 will also provide us with another witness, even explaining, that Lucifer fell from his position of power.

Yet, what triggered Lucifer’s fall?

He said within himself,

“I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will be like the most High”.

Lucifer actually wanted to occupy God’s Throne. Lucifer wanted to become God and rule over the stars which are symbolic of Angels, (Job 2:1).

Job 38:7 tells us, in the beginning, “the morning stars sang together”. The word “Lucifer” actually means, “the morning star”, which is also one of Jesus Christ’s names, (Revelation 22:16).

So at one time, Lucifer and Jesus sang for joy as Job explains.

What a turn of events.

We should understand, Lucifer and Satan are the same entity.

We find both names condemned to death, Satan is in the pit, and even disguised as “an angel of light”, (morning star, 2 Corinthians 11:14, Revelation 9:11, 20:10). Further, Lucifer who is Satan will be destroyed first, and then the wicked right behind him, (Ezekiel 28:18, Revelation 20:10-15).

So Satan (or Lucifer if you prefer) and his angels are “the stars of heaven” that will fall marking the Tribulation, (Mark 13:25). That will be his official fall, fulfilling the words of Ezekiel 28:17. Satan will finally appear on earth before men claiming to be God, what he always wanted, (2 Thessalonians 2:4, 9).

Don’t marvel, Satan has many names in Scripture, (Revelation 12:9).

The following studies will go in great depth to explain the fall of Lucifer. We even have a first-hand account from Jesus. Another study, The Timing of Satan’s Appearance will even detail Lucifer’s arrival on earth.

I hope you enjoy them.

The fall of Satan is one of the keys to understanding why man exists today in the flesh. In our study “In The Beginning: The World That Then Was,” we explained there was a completely

When Was Satan Cast Out Of Heaven?

While Satan once roamed the earth, he is presently bound in Heaven. In the future, Satan will be cast from Heaven to earth which initiates the Tribulation.
