Who are the Saints and what will happen to them during the Tribulation? The answer to that question has eluded many Christians of today as they are not taught to rightly divide the Word of God as we have been instructed (2 Timothy 2:15). By failing to do so, many have wrongly come to the conclusion that the Saints will be killed during the Tribulation and reign of the Anti-Christ. We know the Word of God has no contradictions, so if we find something we think is contradicting we need to dig into the Word for clarification. By using our Strong’s Concordance we can identify and clarify any words causing confusion. In this study we are going to document in God’s Word the Saints of today are in fact the Elect. In addition, we will prove the Saints will not be harmed during the coming Tribulation.
Before we start our Bible study, let us ask our Father for wisdom and understanding of His Word, in Jesus Name Amen.
Let us start our study by taking the word “Saint” (Strong’s word 6918) which simply means, “holy one.” The word “Elect” (Strong’s word 1588) means “chosen one.” These are in fact the same group of people, let this be no great mystery to you. Please open your Bibles with me and turn to,
12 “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;”
This is a description of God’s Elect, Holy and beloved. Not to say they are perfect for they are flesh and blood and sin like everyone else. How do you become an Elect, which is to say, “chosen one” of God? Does God play favorites? Absolutely not! “For there is no respect of persons with God,” (Romans 2:11).
God’s Elect earned the right to be “chosen” in The First Earth Age when they stood against Satan who had rebelled against God and wanted His Throne (“Satan’s Sin“, Isaiah 14:4-20, Ezekiel 28:1-19). Unfortunately, many of God’s children turned their back on Him and followed Satan. This is why we have been born into this present age with free will, to decide whether we will follow God or Satan. Those who followed Satan have free will to decide who they shall follow in this present age. Those who stood against Satan have what we will call limited free will. They have free will to a point, but God predestined them for a purpose as He knew He could count on them in this present age.
The “Elect,” more specifically the 144,000 have a destiny to be delivered up before Satan who is the Anti-Christ and give a testimony from the Holy Spirit. This is why Revelation 20:6 would state, “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” The Elect have already earned their eternal soul and will teach the people during the millennium who never had a chance to hear the Word of God.
Turn your Bibles with me to,
5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
How could God say He knew us before we were formed in the womb? Because of the first earth age when “all the sons of God shouted for joy” (Job 38:7). The Elect were chosen then for the stand they made against Satan when he rebelled against God. This is why God could say, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated”, (Romans 9:13). God knew in the first earth age that Esau had given up his birth right which was essentially God, instead choosing to follow Satan. What did Esau do in our present age? He sold his birth right for a bowl of soup (Genesis 25:34). In this flesh age once again people have the opportunity to choose God. However, we have the same spirit which is the intellect of our soul and people typically do not change. Turn with me now to the book of Romans,
28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Those who are called, God’s Elect. According to whose purpose? God’s purpose. What purpose? As Christ would explain in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is the purpose of the Elect, as God is not “willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance,” (2 Peter 3:9).
And so this has been God’s purpose for the Elect throughout history. To spread the Gospel to all nations of the world in hope that all of his children come to know and love Him.
29 “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
God “hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love” (Ephesians 1:4). “Foundation” is Strong’s word 2602 from the base of 2598 meaning, “to throw down, cast down” this verse is referring to the very overthrow of Satan in the first earth age when he rebelled against God.
It should be clear to you by now, no one is chosen for any purpose by God without them earning that right. God demands work for a reward (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Now that we have documented the characteristics of the Elect and discussed how they were chosen. Let us dial in the identity of the Elect and their role in the Tribulation.
1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”
After what things? After John witnessed the events of the first six seals. The four angels are holding back the very winds that initiate the start of the Trumpets sounding. You can document this by studying Revelation 8 as the earth, sea and trees are harmed when the first two Trumpets sound.
2 “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,”
The angel cried with a loud voice, meaning his message is extremely important! What did the angel have? The Seal of the Living God, which is the seventh seal.
3 “Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.“
The angel loudly proclaims the Trumpets cannot start to sound until the servants of God, the Elect are sealed by Him whereby they have the Word of God locked into their minds so they know the events that consummate the end of this age. In essence, at this point the latter rain begins to come down upon the Elect making them ready for battle against Satan who is the spurious messiah.
4 “And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.”
144,000 were sealed of the tribes of Israel. It did not say 144,000 Jews were sealed. How many tribes are there? 12. Jews being of the tribe of Judah are only one of the 12 tribes, there are eleven more. If you continue reading Revelation 7:5-8, God’s Word documents each of the 12 tribes had 12,000 sealed which adds up to 144,000 in total. So True Judah can claim only 12,000 of the 144,000.
Beyond any doubt, this documents all 12 tribes of Israel are God’s “chosen” people for His purpose. Many mistakenly believe Judah encompasses all 12 tribes which obviously is a tradition of man as we have learned from God’s Word.
9 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;”
After what? After the Tribulation John beheld a multitude of all the peoples of the earth, different nations, races and languages who were before the throne as well. These also overcame the Dragon who is Satan and his Beast Government.
13 “And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?”
One of the elders asked John this question.
14 “And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
In order for the Elect and the multitude to come out of the Tribulation they had to go through it, meaning they will not be raptured away, nor will they be killed. At the seventh Trumpet, which is Christ’s return, He “shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth,“ (Mark 13:27). From where? From earth which documents they lived through the Tribulation.
Many people ask what happens to believers (Christians) during the Tribulation? Christians who do not know the truth will unknowingly worship Satan believing he is Jesus Christ. Almost all Christians will be taking part in the Great Apostasy, as we are told in Revelation 13 the whole world worships the Beast. However, the entire point of the Elect being delivered up is for the testimony which the Holy Spirit will speak through them. When the Elect speak multitudes of Christians and people of the world will then recognize that Christ has not returned and that Satan is in fact the false messiah. Turn now to,
1 “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.“
This verse comes directly after Mark 13:27, we are now at the end of the Tribulation and who is with Christ? The 144,000 who were sealed, they have it locked in their mind that Satan comes first playing the role of Jesus Christ. These same testified against Satan during his time on earth. Their sealing, their mark is in their forehead. Just as those who accept Satan’s mark which is in their forehead, in their brain (Revelation 13:16). That mark is deception which is believing Satan is Jesus Christ.
3 “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.”
Do not read over that verse, that is a double witness. The 144,000 were redeemed from the earth. They were not killed.
The main purpose of the Elect is to be delivered up before Satan (who claims to be Christ) and his Beast Government during the Tribulation. The testimony of God’s Elect will turn many back to the true Christ and pull them from the deception of Satan. We also have the two witnesses who will be prophesying against Satan as well (Revelation 11:3-12).
Let us further document what happens to the Elect during the Tribulation, including some verses that are commonly referenced to as proof the Elect are killed during that time. Let us turn our Bibles to,
9 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:”
Pay attention to the timing sequence, not just in this verse but in general for your studies in the book of Revelation.
10 “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”
These are the Christians who are being killed around the world today and those who have been killed in the past for their testimony. Yet, many would point to these verses as documentation the Elect are killed during the Tribulation. Unfortunately, they have not rightly divided the Word of God as we have been instructed.
What is our time element here? The fifth seal. What is Satan’s number? 666 (Revelation 13:18). What does it stand for? The sixth seal, sixth trumpet and sixth vial, which is his appearance in all of them. So if we are reading about something that happens at the fifth seal, it has occurred before Satan has even placed a foot on earth as his appearance is at the sixth seal. So those under the alter died before the Tribulation. The Elect have stood and died for God since the beginning and they will continue to do so until Satan is cast from Heaven, when the Tribulation starts.
Let us document that further.
12 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;”
Now we have arrived at the sixth seal. Let us find out what happens.
13 “And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”
This same description is given in Mark 13:25 where it specifies, “the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.“ What powers and stars are we talking about here? The stars of heaven are God’s children (Job 38:7). These powers are Satan and his fallen angels. Turn your Bibles to,
7 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,”
The war in heaven is the shaking of powers. Notice Michael and his angels fight against Satan and his angels. Satan is not coming alone.
8 “And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.”
9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.“
Satan and his fallen angels while evil are still God’s children, for God is the Creator of all. We can see at the sixth seal Satan and his fallen angels are cast from Heaven to Earth. Which documents those under the alter did not die during the Tribulation as the Tribulation does not start until the sixth seal. It also documents Satan is not a man, he has never been born in the flesh nor will he ever be.
Once Satan who appears as the lamb in Revelation 13 sets foot on earth he proceeds to set up his Beast Government. However, he does not gain full control of the world itself until the midst of the week. At which time he completes the healing of the deadly wound that was inflicted upon the Beast Government (Revelation 13:3-4).
Daniel 9:27 documents, “he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.“Satan is “he,” documenting he is present on earth for the entire Tribulation. As a note, 70 weeks are determined in the book of Daniel, we currently await this last week, which is a week of years, being a 7 year Tribulation (The Tribulation was shortened by Christ, Matthew 24:22). Satan causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease as the people stop worshipping Jesus Christ and start worshipping Satan who they perceive as Christ. This is the Great Apostasy, changing ones professed religion from one God to another.
We need to understand Daniel 9:27 was written prior to Jesus Christ. Believers of that time had to perform blood sacrifices. When Christ died on the cross for our sins His blood erased that need, therefore, today we take communion to honor God, to display our belief that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for our sins and was resurrected.
With that said, Satan will cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease as the world accepts him as the messiah, at this point they have been spun into his web of deception. We are told in Revelation 13:5 “there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.“
This is our second witness that Satan is here for the entire Tribulation as it states he is allowed to continue 42 months. You cannot continue to do something unless you were already doing it. This scripture is also our second witness to the fact that Satan takes absolute control of the world at the midst of the week as power is given to him. Make a note, 42 months is equal to 3.5 years, being half of the Tribulation.
7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”
Power was given to Satan to make war with the Saints at the midst of the week. This is a spiritual war that will be fought, as we are instructed to put on the Gospel Armor (Ephesians 6).
8 “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
To better understand Satan’s war against the Elect we will turn our Bibles to Daniel chapter 7. Daniel is given a description of the end times Beast Government of Satan. You can read of this in Revelation 13 as well. The “little horn” of Daniel is in fact Satan as verse 8 states he has, “a mouth speaking great things“ just as we learned in Revelation 13:5.
21 “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;”
Remember, we learned in Revelation 13:7, Satan made war with the Saints.
22 “Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”
Satan makes war with the Saints UNTIL who came? The Ancient of days, being God. They remain alive until Christ’s return. Then the Saints will possess God’s Kingdom, what an inheritance!
25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.“
Satan will speak against the Most High and will wear out the Saints for how long? A time and times and the dividing of time being 1+2+.5 = 3.5 years the same 42 months as we learned in Revelation 13:5. Being half of the Tribulation, the second half, therefore the Elect are not killed.
Imagine in your mind how Satan will wear the Saints down. A constant and aggressive spiritual attack from him, his fallen angels and the people of the world. This will be an extremely trying time. Knowing the Saints will be under attack by Satan, we should learn how to stand against him. Turn with me to,
11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Put on the armour of God to what? Stand against Satan!
12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
This is not a war of flesh and blood, but a spiritual war, one that we fight against Satan.
13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
What evil day? The Tribulation of Satan who is the Anti-Christ and his fallen angels.
14 “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;“
As you can see this is not physical armor, but spiritual armor.
15 “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”
What Gospel of Peace? God’s Word!
16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
How strong is your faith my friends? This is a spiritual shield what is yours looking like?
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Had God intended for us to die in the Tribulation He would have told us to take a real helmet and sword to defend ourselves. Everything He has described is spiritual and mental which in itself is going to take a physical toll on us. The mission of Christians since the dawn of time has been to spread the Gospel. When Satan steps foot on earth the Saints will continue to do so proclaiming to the world that Satan is not the true Jesus Christ but the spurious messiah. Friends this is no physical war as we have learned.
Now let us learn exactly how that battle will go down. In the book of Acts chapter 2 we know the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles and they began to speak with cloven tongues. “Cloven” is Strong’s word 1266 meaning, “partition”. A partition being a separation of “Tongues” which is Strong’s word 1100 meaning, “a language (specifically one naturally unacquired).”
As the Apostles began to speak the audience was astonished as they were able to understand what was spoken in their own languages down to their very own dialect! This can only be possible by the touch of Almighty God. The men of the audience tried to explain away the miracle that was spoken before them.
14 “But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:”
16 “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;”
You can document the words Peter spoke in Joel 2.
17 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”
Do not read over that. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy. God’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit will be poured out and during the time of the Tribulation they shall prophesy. This is the very latter rain. Now please turn your Bibles with me to,
12 “But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.”
This occurs during the Tribulation. The whole world will be deceived by Satan except for the Elect as they have been sealed with God’s Word. The people of the world will be extremely upset the Elect are not worshiping the perceived messiah.
13 “And it shall turn to you for a testimony.”
What shall turn to you? The Holy Spirit.
14 “Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:”
When you are brought before Satan, rulers and people of the world for a testimony you do not even think about what you will speak. Why?
15 “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”
God Himself will give the Elect a mouth to speak and no one will be able to speak against the Words the Holy Spirit professes through their lips. Remember, in Acts 2 the Holy Spirit spoke through the apostles and the audience was astonished as they were able to hear the words in their own language. No matter what country they were from, down to the very dialect of the town they were born in. This is going to be repeated in the near future when the Elect are delivered up.
16 “And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.”
Many Christians quake in their boots at this verse because they do not rightly divide the Word of God. This happens when the Elect are delivered up. Let us use some common sense here. What mother or father in their right mind would deliver their child to death? None, so that should raise a red flag to the student of the Bible. Let us ask ourselves. Who is “death?” As Hebrews 2:14 documents, “death, that is, the devil.” We are talking about being delivered up to the false messiah, Satan.
The parents, family and friends of the Elect who are deceived by Satan thinking he is Christ will beg him to convert their child.
17 “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.”
The Elect will be hated for not believing in the perceived Christ just as the two witnesses will be hated (Revelation 11:10). Think of how much religious strife there exists amongst families today because of various beliefs. Can you begin to comprehend what it will be like when Satan is on earth? He will display miracles in the sight of men, proclaiming to be Christ Himself and his angels will proclaim to be the angels of God, yet there will be an extremely small number of people saying he is the false Christ. In essence, it will be the Elect verse 6-7 billion people.
Ask yourself, how could an imposter who claims to be Christ go around killing people? That would deceive no one, yet God’s Word proclaims the whole world will be deceived. The Elect will not die during the Tribulation but it will be no easy task either. Many cannot stand up in front of a room full of people much less rulers and the entire world to speak against the perceived Christ. “But with God all things are possible,” (Matthew 19:26).
18 “But there shall not an hair of your head perish.”
This verse should raise up another flag for the Bible student. Two verses ago it said the parents deliver up their child to death. Yet, Christ says, “not an hair on your head shall perish.” If we were to take the word “death” in verse 16 literally we would have a contradiction in God’s Word and there are no contradictions. This should confirm for you we are talking about Satan in verse 16 who is “death”. The Elect will in fact be protected by God during the Tribulation, that is God’s promise. Let this be no mystery to you.
Now let us turn our Bibles to,
14 “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.”
At this point the entire world is deceived by the one performing the miracles, the Dragon who is Satan (Revelation 13:11, 12:9). He claims to be Christ, the whole Tribulation is deception, Satan’s deception. Satan then proclaims the world should make an image to the Beast Government that was healed of its deadly wound by him. Did Satan force and beat the inhabitants of the earth to create the image? No. They did it because they were deceived by him thinking he is Christ.
15 “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
Many Christians are terrified because of the word “killed.” This would appear to be a contradiction as Christ just told us we would not be harmed in addition to all of the other verses stating the Elect go through the Tribulation physically unscathed. We need to rightly divide the Word of God. “Killed” is Strong’s word 615 which comes from the base of 575 which means “separation.” Hold that thought for a moment.
16 “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:”
How did he cause them to accept his mark? We just learned from verse 14, he caused them to accept his mark by deception! Believing his deception is the mark.
17 “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
In verse 15 we were told we would be “killed” if we did not worship the Beast Government which Satan brought forth. This verse explains if we fail to worship the Beast we merely cannot buy or sell. It would appear we have yet another contradiction. We need to rightly divide the Word of God, the word “killed” should have been translated “separation.” Those who do not worship the Beast Government of Satan will not be killed. Instead, those who fail to worship will be separated from those who do worship the Beast.
God’s Word has documented point after point the Elect will be alive and well during the Tribulation. We also have example after example in times of old that God protects his own. In 1 Chronicles 16:22, God speaks, “Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm,” and He meant it! His anointed are the Elect.
Let me ask. What have we been told regarding the accounts of old in the Bible?
1 Corinthians 10:11
11 “Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.“
Let us take one of those examples if we may… While finishing our study, I ask that you recall the image of the beast that Satan will give life to as we just learned.
Turning our Bibles to Daniel 3 we see Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refused to worship the image setup by King Nebuchadnezzar. They showed faith and patience during their trial, did they not? They stood their ground and refused to worship the image knowing they would be thrown into the furnace for doing so. Their response?
17 “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”
They stood by God and proclaimed their faith by stating God would in fact save them from the fiery furnace should King Nebuchadnezzar cast them into the flame.
18 “But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”
The three told King Nebuchadnezzar should he decide not to cast them into the fiery furnace they will not worship his gods. Can you imagine the courage it must have taken to stand before the king and all of the people? They could do it because they knew they had God on their side!
King Nebuchadnezzar then ordered the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than was necessary. He then required the three to be bound and cast into the furnace. Those three held their faith while being tied up, carried and cast into the furnace. Think about that for a moment.
24 “Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.”
25 “He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.“
He was like the Son of God because He was the Son of God!
26 “Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.”
King Nebuchadnezzar believed and acknowledged our God as the Most High because of this miracle. We should note that Nebuchadnezzar believed so much so he penned a few chapters of the book of Daniel.
27 “And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.”
Nor what? Nor was a single hair on their head harmed. Just as Christ told us in Luke 21 when the Elect are delivered up before “death,” which is to say the Devil. The fire had no power over them. When we have God on our side, nothing can overcome that.
28 “Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.”
God gave us this account to reference with Revelation 13 where we read of an image as well. God could have simply chosen to change King Nebuchadnezzar’s mind and the three would not have been cast into the fiery furnace. However, God knew the three would make a stand for Him because they were Saints being predestined to do what they did. In so doing, God was able to bring forth a miracle that no doubt converted many people who beheld the miracle that day.
We have the Living God on our side. He is able to protect us from the burning fiery furnace, He shuts the mouth of lions, He guards us from the Plagues of Egypt and we show a lack of faith? It is time we all started to open God’s Word and read with understanding whereby we can come to the knowledge of the truth and dispel the traditions of man that have shaken so many.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10
