The Watchmen Of The Last Days

It is true, it is not necessary or probably that one can understand every single minute detail of world events. However, when we combine all of these events together we see they all push toward one main goal. The subversion and destruction of Christianity, and the creation of a new global order, that is the overall goal. Some may not be able to see that within world events, but that is what I attempt to communicate each day on this site and it is certainly Biblical.

I say to everyone, if world events cause you heartache, then just turn it off, turn it all off, including this site.

It has been stated, ‘all we need is the Bible‘, but what does that really mean?

Some of us need and have a desire to understand the world around us as it is related to the Bible.

The Bible is not just about ancient history, but prophecy, it is about the Creation of the universe itself and everything contained within it. From the largest star to the smallest atom.

We need the Bible in order to make sense of our world, we have to study the Bible as we observe our world.

Christ Told Us To Keep Watch

Looking at this from another angle, Christ told us to take action, not just read, He told the Disciples,

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” – Matthew 24:42

Watch“.

Our Lord and Savior told us to watch what transpires in the world so we understand the events that will lead up to His Return, not that we would understand the precise moment of His Return. In Matthew 24:36 He likened the last days to the days of Noah, so we should understand what Noah’s days were like.

Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6,

1 Thessalonians 5:1-2
1 “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.”

2 “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”

We do not know the year, the day or instant Christ will appear, He will appear as a thief to many who do not expect Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
3 “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

You have just been given a sign for the Return of Christ. During the last days, “they” being the people of the world, specifically the governments of the world will scream for “peace and safety” and they do even at this time to a smaller degree.

1 Thessalonians 5:4-6
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”

5 “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

6 “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”

The Day of the Lord, His Return will not come as a thief to those who are watching. It will not come as a surprise to those who read the Bible with understanding and can relate the events of our world to the Bible and the prophecy contained within it.

In Luke 12:37 Christ tells us,

Luke 12:37
37Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.”

Christ tells us, blessed are those servants who keep watch, those servants who “kindle” His Fire, (Luke 12:49). Keeping watch is extremely important. However, we are not to merely stand by “idle,” hiding our light and “watching” alone.

The Purpose Of The Watchman

This is one reason why you will find Isaiah 21:6 at the bottom right corner of our site.

Turn your Bible with me to,

Ezekiel 33:1
1 “Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,”

The Word of who?

The Word of the LORD, God, that is Jehovah our Heavenly Father.

Ezekiel 33:2
2 “Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:”

We are supposed to have watchman so we understand what will befall our people. So we know what will befall our nation and world in these last days.

Who sends that sword?

God does as verse 2 explained.

What is this “sword“?

With respect to the last days, it is many things. We know when Christ appears a two-edged Sword comes from His mouth, it is not a literal sword, but a symbolic sword of truth. It is simply the words He will speak and the truth He will reveal at His appearance, (Revelation 19:15).

Before the Return of Christ, the Saints who are Sealed also have a sword.

Ezekiel 33:3
3 “If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;”

Who seeth?

The watchman.

The point of verses 2-3 is to understand God controls the hands of our enemy, we should know and understand that. He places in power who He deems necessary in order to fulfill His Will. Not that He approves of the person, He just knows He can use them to accomplish His Will.

What is the watchman suppose to do?

Sound the trumpet which alerts the people to the impending danger.

Ezekiel 33:4-5
4 “Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.”

5He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.”

The watchman did his job, he sounded the alarm. He alerted the people to the impending danger, but some of the people chose not to listen and ignored the warning.

Just because they ignored the warning did not make the problem go away, did it?

No, instead those who did not listen were slaughtered by the sword. In these last days that slaughter can even be spiritual in nature.

God places the blame for those slaughtered by the “sword” at the hand of those who failed to hear the warning from the watchman.

Notice, those who took the warning have delivered their own soul. They escaped the impending danger of the “sword“.

Ezekiel 33:6
6But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.”

Now if the watchman sees the danger come and does not blow the trumpet, if the watchman fails to warn the people and they are killed, literally or spiritually, the blood is on the hands of the watchman. He had a job to do and failed not only God, but the people.

Ezekiel 33:7
7 “So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”

God continues talking to Ezekiel who was this watchman, and this is a great example for us in these last days, (1 Corinthians 10:11).

Warning The Wicked

Ezekiel 33:8
8 “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”

How does God tell the wicked man He will die?

Through the Word of God. His Law is in the Book. It is up to the watchman and Bible teachers to relay His Word to the world. If we fail to do that and keep our mouth shut, we not only fail God, but fail the “wicked man,” and God will hold us accountable for that.

Ezekiel 33:9
9 “Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

However, if we are that watchman and we are that teacher and we have warned the wicked, then we have done our job. The blood which is to say the guilt of their sin will be upon each “wicked man” for failing to adhere to the warning and Biblical instruction they were given.

Who Are The Watchmen?

Not everyone is meant to be a teacher.

Not everyone is meant to be a watchman.

However, that does not give us a pass.

We can all contribute to the growth of the body of Christ, one way or another. We can all share what we learn on our walk with Christ. This is critical in the hour we find ourselves, false teaching is so ramped it is hard to find truth anymore. It is up to each one of us to combat false teaching to the level that we are able. We can share with family, friends, and acquaintances when the moment allows. In the age of the internet, this is easier than ever.

So how can you tell who is, and who is not a teacher or watchman of God?

By the fruit they produce, as Christ taught us, is it good or is it bad?

That is for you to decide.
