As we begin our march through this new year we discussed the escalation of events in 2016. The events were and are unprecedented and represent a dramatic escalation over the events of the previous year. We know these things must come to pass before the Tribulation of Satan can begin and before the return of Jesus Christ.
The escalation of events that we witnessed are a great sign for us to understand where we are on our Father’s Timeline. Christ foretold us, “when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh“, and so it does (Luke 21:28). This we know and we know this year will be far worse than last year, but what about each one of us? As this world changes for the worse, how are you and your family changing?
As we begin this new year I challenge each and every one of you to take a look at yourself and your situation. Look at the person you were last year or even the last ten or twenty years. What has worked for you and what did not?
- What would you like to change?
- What can you do in order to be a better man or woman?
- What can you do in order to be a better husband, wife, father, mother, brother or sister?
- What can you do in order to be a better servant of our Father?
- What can you do to be a better reflection of Him?
When we accept Christ into our hearts and minds we “put off the old man, which is corrupt” and then we can “be renewed in the spirit of your mind” and “put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness,” (Ephesians 4:22-24). We all know this, but as time drags on sometimes we lose sight of this, we lose sight of our mission in life, we lose sight of our goals as men and women, as family members and members of the Christian body. So let us all ask our Father to renew our spirits. As the days grow darker, let us all ask Him to allow us to burn brighter for Him, for our families and friends who depend on us. Let us ask Him to help us grow in His Word and help us to hold His Banner high.
10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
11 “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.”
12 “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”
Renew your commitment to Him through prayer and deed and ask Him to enter your life now. Ask our Father to renew your spirit. Ask our Father for a willing spirit, one that will change to become a better man or woman of God. A better; husband, wife, father, mother, brother and sister. Ask for a spirit that is on fire for Him and kindle His Fire (Luke 12:49). Do these things for Him, do these things for you and for your family.
As the days grow darker do not focus on,
“The things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal,“ (2 Corinthians 4:18).
Be aware of what is going on in the world, but do not let it bring you down or consume you. Our focus should be on our Father’s Kingdom that will never fade. Our focus should remain on Him and what pleases Him. Our focus should be on expanding His Kingdom and doing everything we can to become a brighter flame for Him in this world. To let our light shine before this world so others can see it and hopefully draw to that Light which comes from Him (Matthew 5:16).
Do not lose heart by witnessing the events of our world. Understand and know if we ask Him “the inward man is renewed day by day,” our spirit is being renewed through Him when we ask Him, when we seek Him, when we ask Him to lead, guide and direct our path through life (2 Corinthians 4:16).
As perversion and sin become more profound “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2).
While the days grow darker, do not conform to sin, do not support or accept sin, do not give it an inch and do not allow this sinful world to absorb your family. Stand tall and strong for our Father, carry the Banner of Christ for your family and friends to see and stand with your Christian brothers and sisters.
Be patient for His return, do not rush or mark dates. Be patient and be happy doing His Work.
31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Starting right now, let us renew our strength in Him, renew our spirit in Him and our outlook on life. Let us march through these end times with a renewed spirit in Christ and with a renewed outlook on life. Let us re-examine ourselves and strive to change for the better. Break down the barriers of life and seek out new challenges for you and your family, break out of your comfort zones. Try new things and create new adventures, make memories and most importantly be a man or woman of God people will take notice of for His benefit, be the example He will be proud of.
This new year, let us change for the better. Let this new year re-invigorate you in spirit and life through our Lord and Savior. Remember, no matter what happens, He is on our side and we have the Victory through Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).
Your Brother in Christ,
Brandon T. Ward
