This year, Easter will be celebrated on April 1st. Many Christians are making plans to visit family, friends and attend church services in order to honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But, how did Easter come about?

Many Christians would be surprised to understand the word “Easter” is not in the Bible, technically, not a single time.

It can be found one time in the King James Version Bible. Yet, modern Bible’s have the correct translation of “Passover” inserted where the King James Bible incorrectly renders the word “Easter“.

Just as the word Easter is not found within the Bible, neither will the Christian find bunnies and colored eggs in the Bible and certainly not in any way that would honor Jesus Christ.

So if we cannot find “Easter“, “bunnies” and “eggs” in the Bible, why do we use these terms and traditions to celebrate Jesus Christ?

For an indepth study on this subject we highly recommend you read our Bible study titled, “Is The Easter Holiday Biblical, How Does God Feel About It?” In this Bible study we explain the translation error and how the bunnies and eggs entered the church. We know you will enjoy it.
