The CDC’s Healthy Schools Program has a page titled, “Children In A Disaster Infographic: Easy as ABC”. As you view the infographic, you will be presented with helpful information in case there is a disaster while your children are at school.
The best part comes further down on the page where the CDC advises,
An emergency might require a sudden sleepover. Tell school administrators about any extra supplies your child may need to safely make it through a night away from home.
Now I don’t know about you, but I have never heard of a “sleepover” after school hours, emergency or not. That is not a school’s job or responsibility. Their job is to educate our children, not play Mommy and Daddy and watch over our children.
Considering how many teachers these days are concerned with parents listening in on the classroom, I think this is a horrible idea.
