Israel Gaza Conflict Intensifies, Death and Destruction Mount, But For What Cause?

The destruction in Gaza has now reached unprecedented levels according to some sources. Despite that, there have been no real calls for peace from the international community. In fact, the United States continues to block discussion about the conflict at the U.N. Security Council.

In Gaza, more than 200 Palestinians have been killed, 1200 wounded, and 34,000 have been displaced by the latest conflict. In Israel, 8 Israelis have been killed, wounded is unknown and some buildings have been damaged or destroyed.

According to news reports, more than 3,100 rockets have been launched from Gaza towards Israel with 90% of them being intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome.

Tower Take Out

Over the weekend, there was big news with Israel taking out a building that housed the Associated Press and Al-Jazeera media outlets. Prior to the attack, Israel claimed they shared intelligence on the building with the United States that showed the terrorist group Hamas had a presence in the building.

The Associated Press denied any knowledge that the building had been used by terrorists, and international press freedom groups accused Israel of trying to censor coverage of events in Gaza.

Personally, I feel Israel put together a cover story in order to destroy the headquarters of the two media outlets in Gaza to prevent media coverage. Further, since the beginning, I felt the point of the conflict was to save Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu that was about to be ousted from power. That is a thought that is gaining traction, even in the mainstream media.

There should be no doubt about it, Hamas is unable to wage a real war with Israel. The rockets that are being launched from Gaza are volleyed. They are not targeted as Hamas has no such technology. Israel on the other hand has U.S. hardware that is state of the art.

Which Side?

We are taking no sides in the conflict, we have no skin in the game here. We can all see the damage and casualty count for ourselves. Here is some of the latest video.

Christians should be praying for peace and calm right now. They should be reading their Bibles in order to understand the Jews are not God’s chosen people. Christians overwhelmingly support the Jewish state due to a false Biblical narrative. It does not mean we hate anyone, but it does mean we realize our Biblical error.

What Is The Point?

Israel tells us the point of the continued onslaught in Gaza is to root out Hamas and stop the barrage of rockets.

I get that.

However, let’s remember who brought this on to begin with. It was Israel as the Arab communities were closing Ramadan, Israel sought to shut down the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. That led to the Hamas rocket attacks which lead to Israel’s response and where we are today.

However, what we are all witnessing is massive civilization casualties and infrastructure decimation in Gaza. We are told Hamas is being destroyed, but are they really?

Hamas and the Islamic Jihad militant group have acknowledged 20 fighters killed in the fighting. Israel says the real number is far higher and has released the names and photos of two dozen alleged operatives it says were “eliminated.”

AP

Out of all this death and destruction, only 20 Hamas fighters have been killed. Israel says the number is higher.

What exactly is higher?

40, 60, 100?

Would it really matter for the amount of death and destruction we are seeing?

This does not appear to be a war against terrorists, but rather a war against an impoverished nation of people.
