Christ Can Give Us Rest

Matthew 11:28
28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

We live in a busy world. We wake up at the crack of dawn and hit the road just in time to make it to work. We grind away the day, and then race back home to make dinner, entertain the children, and try and visit with our spouse before it is time to do it all over again.

It is easy for some to become frustrated with life as this routine and the troubles of life begin to consume us.

So consumed by our daily life, we begin to forget about Christ who is our source of life. Our Bible studies slip, our prayers slip, and soon, we can hardly find any of His fingerprints on our life…

Yet, these are the moments when we should reach out to our Heavenly Father more than ever. These are the moments we need to remember Christ’s Words in Matthew 11:28.

Christ can give us rest and comfort from so many of our troubles.

He helps us establish order in our lives through the instructions found in Scripture.

We can find advice and guidance on just about every issue, from what we feed our families, to finance, to our living environment, and of course, morality.

With so much quality advice to be found in the Bible, I would like to encourage everyone to take some time out of their busy day to take rest in Christ. Take rest and comfort in Him through prayer, take comfort in Him through the promises and Words in the Bible, and then do your best to apply it to your daily life, and stay on track.
