Continue In Prayer, Watch And Be Thankful

Colossians 4:2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.

When we find ourselves placed in a difficult situation in life, this simple verse really provides all the advice we need.

We continue to pray, we are even instructed to pray without ceasing, (1 Thessalonians 5:16). When we stay connected to God through prayer, He stays connected to us. It takes effort on our part, honesty and diligence. God does not give out freebies, if you want to be apart of His Club, then you have to reach out to Him and stay connected. You have to open the Bible and read it, asking for understanding as you go.

After we do that, we watch. We access the situation we are presented with, and we make adjustments in our life accordingly. As we make those adjustments, we keep that prayer line open. We keep asking God to lead us, and guide us down our path through life. When we make Him apart of our life and put Him first, He will be with us even through the most difficult moments. Even if it feels like He is not, just like the famous Footprint In The Sand poem.

Then, we must always remember to be thankful for what we have. I don’t care if you have a new Corvette parked out front, or an old Pacer. Be thankful for what you have. Be thankful for a roof over your head, as many people do not even have that. Be thankful for your health, family, and friends. Be thankful for being counted worthy to know God and have a relationship with Him.

You know, that is the greatest blessing of all. Knowing God, and asking Him to be apart of our lives and help us through it. While material possessions make this life easier and enjoyable, knowing God brings blessings that will last forever.

Read through verse 6 on your own, very wise words that will help many today and in the days to come.
