We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Have you ever noticed there are two groups in Scripture?
Those who stand with God, and those who stand with the world.
As Christians, “we are of God”, and those who know Him will hear His speech. Anyone who does not hear wise and humble Christian words, is not of God.
If they are not of God, then who are they of?
The world, but specifically Satan, he is the god of this creepy world, (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Therefore, the people who do not adhere to the Bible are not of God as we are. Instead, they are of the other guy.
This does not literally mean God bore us obviously, your mother did. Neither does it mean those who refuse our speech are literally of Satan. This is symbolism.
Yet, it truly defines our world, does it not?
In fact, let’s read verse five.
They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
1 John 4:5
If you are of the world, you speak of the world, and it will hear you.
So if you have ever been frustrated as to why the world will not hear your Christian words, maybe now you will understand. The world cares only about its own, you are not of the world, therefore, the world will not care about you or your cause.
Jesus told us this so many times in Scripture.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
John 15:19
We walk with Christ, so “we are of God” and have the spirit of truth. Therefore, anyone who is not of God, is of the world, and they have the spirit of error, even Satan’s spirit if you will.

Is it any wonder then why our world is so void of truth and righteousness these days?
- The spirit of truth will comfort us, uplift us, and provide us with confidence.
- The spirit of error will scare us, frighten us, and make us worry at every turn of life.
Being of God has so many spiritual blessings, being of the world and Satan guarantees sorrow, sadness, and perpetual death, if you follow him.
Do not confuse the spirit of truth with the spirit of error…
These days, we are presented many “truths”, yet, they rarely pan out.
Have you noticed that theme?
There are “truthers”, “truth seekers”, and “fact checkers”.
Yet, these phrases have become so cliche.
Everyone claims to know and have the truth, but the truth is…
Nearly no one has the truth they claim they possess.
Here is the spirit of truth…
If you are not of God, the truth is not in you.
He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
John 8:47
The spirit of truth will brighten your day, not bring a cloud of fear over you.
