Give Thanks To The Lord For He Is Good

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

1 Chronicles 16:34

Oftentimes, we tend to overlook the blessings in our life.

We tend to focus on the future, instead of the present, and we forget where we came from.

We forget all the blessings God has bestowed upon us in the past, and we only think about what we lack, or what we think we need.

An important part of being a Christian is remembering what God has already done for you, and being thankful for it.

It’s about remembering all the dark times He pulled you out of.

Remembering the food He placed on your table, when none could be found.

Remembering the roof over your head, when it was once absent, (Matthew 6:25-34).

Through remembrance, we can be comforted in knowing, God is always with us, (Hebrews 13:5).

Thankful For Blessings

My friends, we should never confuse the word “blessings” with riches.

  • Blessings are a happy and healthy family.
  • Blessings are having a roof over your head and food on the table.
  • Blessings are living a Christian life with Christ right beside you.

When we stop fretting about what we don’t have, and what the future holds… Only then can we be thankful for what we do have. Only then can we see how far we have come in life. Only then can we realize, it was God who was with us every step of the way.

No matter if you are rich or poor, you have blessings to be thankful for.

This is why,

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Always thank God for what you have in life.

Never define your success in terms of dollars. Define your success by how close your daily walk is with Christ.

You see, this world is a mere shadow of the things to come. Just as the old law was a shadow of Christ who was to come.

One day, these things will be the former things that are passed away, (Revelation 21:4).

You want to be one of the few truly blessed who will be standing right there with God. Those who remembered, true blessings are the simple things in life. Those who remembered, and never forgot their first love, Jesus Christ.
