God’s Mercy Endures Forever

In Psalms 103:14 we are reminded that we are created from mere dust, our Father remembers and understands that. He knows it is difficult to walk this life in the flesh. It is so easy to fall off the narrow path that leads to Eternal Life.

As we travel this path through life, we find ourselves constantly avoiding obstacles to stay the course. This is why our Father sent His only Son, the Savior, so we can repent and ask for forgiveness when we fall short, (Revelation 22:14).

God Provides Redemption

Oftentimes, we mess up more than we may want to admit. So much so that you would think God would just give up on us. But not our Father,  He is patient and loving, He is “longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”, (2 Peter 3:9).

So He provides us with Redemption through Jesus Christ so that we can wash away our sins, (1 John 1:7). He provides us with mercy that endures forever.

God’s Mercy Endures Forever

Please turn your Bible with me to,

Psalms 103:17
17 “But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;”

God’s mercy endures forever, it continues without end.

“Mercy” (Strong’s: H2617) means, “kindness, favour“. God will always show kindness to you, He will always show you favor, but we do have a qualifier here.

God’s Word said His mercy applies to “them that fear Him”.

I do not know about you, but I do not “fear” God just as my children do not “fear” me. The word “fear” (Strong’s: H3373) means “morally reverent” which simply means to “respect” God.

God’s mercy endures forever for those who “respect” Him.

Claim The Promise

How do we show our respect to God so we can claim this promise?

Psalms 103:18
18 “To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.”

If we respect God by keeping His covenant and commandments, then God’s mercy will endure forever toward us. God’s covenant is His contract with us, and His Commandments are the Ten Commandments among others.

It simply means following God’s Word, understanding what it means, and applying it to our life. That is how we can obtain this promise

God’s righteousness spans generations, from our children down to their children, on and on forever.

All we must do is respect and honor our Father, love Him, and follow His Laws. Then His promises will apply to our lives, and we will inherit His Eternal Kingdom in the life to come.
