I Will Show You Great And Mighty Things

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Jeremiah 33:3

In this verse, God was talking to Jeremiah —in prison no less — but this applies to all of us.

By the way, did you notice the qualifier within God’s statement?

  • We have to call on God.
  • We have to reach out to Him in prayer.
  • We have to apply His Word to our lives, and then He will show us great and mighty things.

Now, we’re not talking about some magic show.

God can show us amazing things by transforming our life, if we ask Him to, and if we do our part. He can pull us from the depths of sin, and anything else you can think of. Look, Jesus overcame all, and if we are in Christ spiritually, then it means we have overcome all as well.

Beautiful!

This verse also reminds me of Matthew 7:7-8, ask, seek, find. This is one of the famous sayings of Jesus. He told us to ask, then seek, and even knock on His Door, and then we would find what we are looking for.

Hey, there are no freebies in life!

God wants you to prove to Him, that you love and care about Him.

Then and only then, will the blessings flow.

Then and only then, will God show you great and mighty things.

You know, this morning I decided to look up that word “mighty” in the Strong’s Concordance. One of the meanings of this word is “inaccessible by height or fortification.”

God is telling us, He will show us great things. Things that are ‘inaccessible and fortified’ to everyone else. Hey, that is why Jesus spoke in parables, and why God will reveal the deep and secret things to you, if you ask Him, and if you do your part to learn and understand, (Daniel 2:22).

I don’t know about you, but I find that exciting and so very true.

But it takes time my friends.

It takes a lot of prayer and study, and then God will reveal His Word to you.
