The Heavens Declare The Glory Of God

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

Psalms 19:1-2

I don’t know about you, but I just love a clear night sky around a campfire. Looking into the star filled sky we can watch as the constellations appear to move about. A telescope will reveal the surreal rings of Saturn and if we are lucky, we might catch a shooting star or two as the fire burns through the night.

Wise Of The World

For me, the heavens truly declare God’s Majesty and Greatness. Yet, His existence is dismissed by many wise men. Wise men who explain our universe was created through a process called, The Big Bang, (see: The Bible Was Inspired By The Holy Spirit). Where everything came from nothing, all on its own.

If you follow their logic, it leads to the formation of stars, galaxies, and planets which does not add up. After all, their own theory describes a random explosion that sent debris into all areas of the universe. A universe that created space itself, defying all logic.

The most unfathomable part of their theory comes from earth’s formation. A theory that explains, gas and dust clouds formed our beautiful planet. Then, a massive object collided with the earth causing a part of it to fracture, move off into space, and become our moon.

  • Do not ask how earth repaired itself from such a gash.
  • Do not ask why the moon is round, and how it began to orbit our planet.
  • Do not ask how earth came to spin and revolve around the sun after such an event.

Those details are elusive, and the theories are even finer on details and facts.

Our Universe Has A Creator

For myself, these seemingly obvious details cannot be overlooked or explained away by some random event. What we can observe with our eye can only be explained through the understanding that our universe has a Creator. Our Heavenly Father who created all things through His Son Jesus Christ, (1 Corinthians 8:6).

Our universe does not display the characteristics of random design where nothing created itself. Rather, our universe displays an intelligent design by a Creator with a plan who set everything in motion, (Colossians 1:16).

Common sense tells us, no top created itself. Nor can a top stand up and spin on its own. The same thought applies to our planet. Someone must have designed it, and set it in motion. Just as other planets are in motion, and all obey the circuits they are on that traverse the sun.

Rejecting Knowledge

It was no accident, mistake, or stroke of luck that created our universe. It was no random chance that all life came into existence, and it certainly did not evolve to become the carefully crafted machines life represents today. Those thoughts and ideas are by wise men of the world who have rejected knowledge from our Father.

Though God created all things “so that they are without excuse,” being an explanation of His Majesty, (Romans 1:20)… Mankind still attempts to explain away His existence. Nevertheless, man is here today and gone tomorrow, while God’s wonderful works will always be remembered, (Psalms 111:4).

Summary

Though the heavens and all life are a constant reminder of God’s handiwork, (Ephesians 2:10). Unbelief abounds in our world today through the perverse knowledge of wise men, to misguided religious beliefs, and many other irresponsible facets of life.

Never become so “wise” that you forget about God or try to dismiss Him and His Wonderful works, (Proverbs 3:5). Whenever you need a reminder, walk outside on a clear night, look up, and remember, “The heavens declare the glory of God”.
