Trust In The Lord, Not Man

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

Psalms 118:9

We typically place our faith and trust in the people around us. We place our trust in family and friends. We expect them to always be there for us. Yet, we are often let down by them. Sometimes, we can even become the one who lets others down.

We place our trust in the people who form our governments, we trust them to do what is right. We expect them to serve us, and the interests of our nation, just as the law has directed.

Rarely is this the case though, and instead of holding men accountable, we typically make excuses for their failures. We do this as we have no one left to trust. When family, friends, and our government officials let us down, there is no one else to turn to. So we latch on to what we can, otherwise, we feel all alone and hopeless.

Unfortunately, this thought is far too common.

Yet, there is One we can trust in. There is One who will always be there for us. This One should have been first on our list, but this One typically comes in last on our list.

While men let us down as they seek after their own needs, never considering our feelings. God is the One who always considers our needs and feelings.

In fact, over and over again in the Bible we find God being there for His Children. Both historically, with promises being made for each and every one of us who seek after Him.

God is the One who will never let us down.

God is the One who will never leave us.

God is the only One we should always trust and place above all.
