But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
Often times we feel as if the wicked always get ahead, yet God is promising us they will not win, nor will they escape in the end. Their hope is nothing more than their final breath.
That says a lot, it truly does. Unless the wicked change their ways, their only hope is the grave. You, on the other hand, have a much better hope. Your hope and promise from God is Eternal Life in a perfect body that does not see the effects of age, (1 Corinthians 15:35-55, Did Adam Have An Immortal Body?). Your hope is to be apart of God’s Perfect Government that will last forever without tears or pain, (Revelation 21:4).
These days, that sounds more promising than ever as the governments of our world abound in confusion. Yet, no matter how difficult life becomes today, and the days ahead, I want you to remember this life is very temporary. We are here today, and gone tomorrow. Those who have gray hair will tell you, life speeds up as you age, call it the Twilight Zone effect if you like.
That means we need to make the most out of each and every day we have on earth. Not only do we need to stay connected to God through the Bible and prayer, but we need to help uplift our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. It means we need to reach out to those who have not yet accepted Christ, that is why you are here, to serve God.
You know, some of us have practiced our Christian faith our entire lives. We have not practiced so long for one specific event, that is not necessarily God’s desire. His desire is for us to practice our faith each and every day to help other people, and try and change our world for the better. We do our best, and He will take it from there.
Now is not the time to become complacent, sad or upset. Now is the time to stand tall and strong for God. Now is the time to put our Christian faith to the test, and try and draw as many as we can from the flame to come, otherwise, their only hope is the grave.
Hey, we cannot accomplish this on our own. We simply have to ask God to help us on this journey through life, and He has promised, He will be with us every step of the way.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
