Bible Verses About Encouragement

At times, we all need a little encouragement to make it through the day. It is times like these we should be reminded of all the encouragement that comes from the Bible. Not only will we find encouraging verses, but the stories from the past show God is always with His People when they are with Him. Never forget that, and be encouraged by it.

Encouragement For Your Walk Through Life

God Helps Us Through Our Troubles

Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

These are such encouraging words from God. He can protect us no matter the circumstances or situation we find ourselves in. The Bible provides numerous examples where God performed miracles for His People. God opened the Red Sea for Moses and the Hebrews during the Exodus, (Exodus 14:13-28). Later God parted the Jordan River under the leadership of Joshua, (Joshua 3:13-17). God protected His People, and provided a way for them, when there was no way.

In the great book of Daniel, three Hebrews were cast into a great fiery furnace by king Nebuchadnezzar, yet, the fire had no effect on them as God was with them, God protected them, (Daniel 3:19-30). These events document, the words of God are promises we can always count on.

God Will Renew Our Strength

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

When the troubles of life come knocking on our door, we should be encouraged by God’s promises. We have to wait for God, He will do things in His time. Sometimes that is hard for us, but we must be patient and continually stay in His Service throughout the good and bad times. That means we must stay committed to Him, we must keep Him in prayer, and continue to read and study His Word.

When we accomplish these things, God will come through on His end of the bargain, it may take time, and it may not always be what we expect, but He will never leave us or forsake us. Instead, He will renew us.

Be Encouraged, God Is With Us

Deuteronomy 31:8
And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

If we are with God, then He is with us on our walk through life. God is there to provide encouragement and be a positive force for us. Yet, we have to open our heart and mind to Him. We must knock on His door, then He will answer us, (Matthew 7:7-8).

When we do our part, God will help us over the hurdles in life, when we cannot clear them on our own.

God Encourages And Comforts Us

God Is With Us Through The Valley Of Death

Psalms 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

The Bible provides so many examples of God’s protection from past history, they document God’s promises are in fact true and accurate. He has always been there for His People when they stand by Him. That is why even if we walk through the valley of death itself, we will not fear. Why would we fear? We have the Creator of Heaven and earth by our side!

God Will Help Us Escape Trouble

1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

God is telling us, nothing has happened to us that has not already happened to someone else. When the troubles of life hit us hard, sometimes we can begin to feel sorry for ourselves, and we act as if we have it worse than everyone else. God is comforting us here, and letting us know that is not true. Moreover, God provides us with encouragement by letting us know He will only allow our troubles to last so long, and then He will provide a way out.

When God helps you overcome a problem in life, thank Him for it, and use what you learned to help and encourage someone else down the road.

God’s Comfort Helps Us Encourage Others

God Comforts Us, So We Can Encourage Others

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Be comforted knowing God is with us. Be encouraged knowing God will help us through the difficult times in life. When we understand that, then we are able to encourage and comfort other people in trouble who may not know God. This my friends is your time to shine for God by helping them through. You are not alone in that task, God is with you when you call on Him.

Our Help Comes From God

Psalms 121:2
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

Always be encouraged knowing we have the Creator of Heaven and earth on our side. When we stick with God, we simply cannot be overcome. When you look at the mountains, remember our Creator founded this beautiful planet. When you gaze into the stars at night, understand and know our Creator did that.

That is where our help comes from, we can always be assured that God will provide the victory.
