Question 1:

Name: Enni
Question: Hey, my question is who are the two witnesses?! Are they the two churches? Philadelphia & Smyrna ..
Thank You

Answer:

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question Enni. Pryce also had a similar question that we will include here, thank you as well.

The Bible does not clearly document who the Two Witnesses are, but I do believe we have some clues (account of the Two Witnesses during the end times can be documented: Revelation 11:3-12).

Hebrews 9:27 tells us “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” So we know for certain a man can only die in the flesh once. From Revelation 11:7-12 we know the Two Witnesses will be killed by Satan right at the end of the Tribulation. So we also know the Two Witnesses will either be men on the earth today which I doubt or they could be Enoch and Elijah who never died in the flesh (Genesis 5:21-24, 2 Kings 2:11). Since the Bible does not clearly state one way or the other, these are only my thoughts. I will say, while it would seem likely for Moses to be one of the Two Witnesses as he was the Law Giver, Moses died in the flesh as the Bible documents.

I do believe we have a very good idea who one of the Two Witnesses will be. Please turn your Bible with me to,

Malachi 4:5
5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:”

Who will send Elijah? Our Father in Heaven.

The Great Day of the Lord is His return which is after the appearance and lying wonders of Satan who will claim to be Christ (2 Thessalonians 2:8-9). If you read the first four verses of Malachi it is clear the time element is just before Christ’s return and is in line with 2 Peter 3:10 with respect to the explanation of the wicked elements being destroyed by fire.

When we factor it all in, it seems reasonable to believe that Elijah will be one of the Two Witnesses.

Question 2:

Name: Ginny
Question: Hello Brandon: I would appreciate your help in clearing up Elohiym H430, Nephilim H5303, and Rephaim H7497. The Strong’s Concordance is not too clear. I believe they are compound words, such as Elohiym, Creator and His angels.

Thank you, Brandon

Answer:

Name: WEB Staff
Answer: Thank you for the question Ginny.

I think you are on the right track here. Let us look up the words together.

First, “Elohiym” which is Strong’s word 430 in the Hebrew (hence the H in front of the 430 below for those unfamiliar with the Strong’s).

H430
אֱלֹהִים
‘ĕlôhı̂ym
el-o-heem’
Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: – angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.

We would agree with you that the best fit here is God in the plural sense where He is including the Angels when referring to Himself.

Next, let us look at the word “Nephilim” which is 5303 in the Strong’s.

H5303
נְפִל    נְפִיל
nephı̂yl    nephil
nef-eel’, nef-eel’
From H5307; properly, a feller, that is, a bully or tyrant: – giant.

We are talking about the giants who were the offspring of the fallen angels or the angels who became fallen when they “left their own habitation” which is Heaven and came to earth. Due to the decision they made they “hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day,” which is the Judgement of our Father (Jude 1:6).

Finally, the word “Rephaim“.

H7497
רָפָה    רָפָא
râphâ’    râphâh
raw-faw’, raw-faw’
From H7495 in the sense of invigorating; a giant: – giant, Rapha, Rephaim (-s). See also H1051.

The “Rephaim” were also giants under another name. The following is an excerpt from our study, “As in the Days of Noah and the End Times Flood of Lies“;

“The giants are also known as Rephaim, Emim (Genesis 14:5), Anakim (Numbers 13:22;33), Horim, Zamzummim (Deuteronomy 2:10) and Avim (Deuteronomy 2:20-21).”

Question 3:

Name: Anthony
Question: Brandon, can you cover as to how we can be sure that the time of tribulation is reduced to five months? Is it based on the time of the locust?

Answer:

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question Anthony.

There really is not a lot written about the time of the Tribulation, especially the shortening of it. Please turn your Bible with me to,

Matthew 24:22
22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

What days? The days of the Tribulation which is the subject of Matthew 24. Christ, our Lord and Savior shortened the time of the Tribulation otherwise no flesh would be saved. That is how successful Satan will be with his deception during the Tribulation.

Now right here, right from the mouth of Christ we have been told the days of the Tribulation were shortened and Christ has proclaimed, “I have foretold you all things,(Mark 13:23).

So we know there is an answer in scripture. We are going to turn to Revelation 9 in a moment, but before we do it is important to understand Revelation 9 covers more than just the Fifth Trumpet, it also covers the Sixth and Seventh Trumpets if we pay close attention. In Revelation 9:6 it reads, “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Where else have we read about men not dying during that time?

Revelation 6:15-17
15 “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;”

16 “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:”

As Revelation 9:6 documents, in those days, the days of the Tribulation, just before the appearance of Christ men will seek death but they will not find it. One can only imagine the burning feeling they will have when they realize the True Christ is only now appearing and they were deceived by Satan who only claimed to be Christ.

It is important to understand we are talking about the Tribulation in Revelation 9 and that is why I am stressing the point. Now turn with me to,

Revelation 9:4
4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”

It was commanded to who? To the Locust Army, Satan’s fallen angels in part that they should not harm those with the Seal of God. Those who were Sealed as documented in Revelation 7.

You will learn in Chapter 3 of our study, “The Timeline of the Tribulation” the Sealing while it has been taking place for years is not yet completed and when it is then and only then will the Seven Trumpets begin to sound. This will be a really good Chapter to dial in some of these events for us. Let us continue.

Revelation 9:5
5 “And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.”

There we have it again. Those with the Seal of God cannot be harmed by Satan and his wicked angels and we know from Luke 21:18, “But there shall not an hair of your head perish” during the Tribulation. So Revelation 9 is actually providing a double witness to that fact.

What else has Christ told us?

Matthew 24:37
37 “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Christ shortened the time of the Tribulation and He has also, “foretold us all things“. I believe Christ is directing us to turn to the book of Genesis, as Noah experienced a flood in his time, we are going to experience a flood in our time. Satan’s flood of lies and deception during the Tribulation.

How long did the flood waters prevail upon the earth during Noah’s flood?

Genesis 7:24
24 “And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

What happened at the end of the one hundred of fifty days?

Genesis 8:3
3 “And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.”

The flood waters of Noah’s time were abated, they ceased after one hundred and fifty days, that is five months Anthony and I believe Satan’s flood will be abated after five months as well.
