The False Hope of the Rapture

The False Hope of the Rapture

By: Brandon T. Ward

Revised: 11-11-2013

The rapture is a commonly taught doctrine by the churches of today. This doctrine wrongly teaches believers they will be removed from the earth by Christ in either a, Pre-Tribulation rapture, Mid-Tribulation rapture or Post-Tribulation rapture. This belief is leading many Christians right into the arms of Satan who appears at the sixth trumpet claiming to be Christ.

This false idea the church will be “raptured” before the Tribulation has not been taught throughout the history of man. Not until the 1830s when a troubled young lady named Margaret McDonald claimed to have a vision from God showing her the Saints would be removed from the earth before the Tribulation. She admitted the vision seemed evil and dark, yet the preachers of the time took the idea and it quickly spread the world around. We will discover in this study of God’s Word the rapture is another tradition of man which makes void the Word of God.

Before we start our Bible study, let us ask our Father for wisdom and understanding of His Word, in Jesus Name amen.

What rapturists fail to understand is the earth is our home, we are not going anywhere, Christ is coming here. As Zechariah 14:1-4 documents, “the day of the Lord cometh… And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.” This verse documents Christ is not only returning to the Mount of Olives, but upon His return there shall be a great earthquake which divides that mountain. Let us further document Christ’s return in,

Revelation 11:13
13 “And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.”

What hour? The hour of temptation which is the Tribulation of the Anti-Christ, Satan. What city? Jerusalem, where the two witnesses will be killed and arise after three and a half days (Revelation 11:3-12). This event ends the Tribulation and triggers the great earthquake in Jerusalem as Christ descends from Heaven. “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever,” (Revelation 11:15). Once the seventh trumpet sounds there shall be time no more. Therefore settle it in your minds, Christ is coming here at the end of the Tribulation.

To expand on this point, Christ must remain in Heaven until His appointed time which is the seventh trumpet as we just learned. Turn your Bibles with me to,

Acts 3:20-21
20 “And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:”

21Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”

These two verses alone document there is no rapture. God’s Word has just stated, Christ must remain in Heaven until all prophecy has been fulfilled, He cannot leave to rapture the church away. In the prior verses, we documented Christ will return to the Mount of Olives at the end of the Tribulation and not a moment before (Zechariah 14:1-4, Acts 1:11-12). It is Satan’s message that he will come to fly you away, if you believe this false doctrine you will be harvested out of season as Christ warned us of.

Now let us analyze a few verses typically used by those who believe in a rapture. Many point to 1 Thessalonians 4:17 as proof of their premise. However, in order to make sure we are “rightly dividing the word of truth,” (2 Timothy 2:15) let us start with verse 13 to identify the subject at hand.

I Thessalonians 4:13-14
13 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”

The subject is where are the dead. If we believe Christ is risen, then we should understand those who have passed on before us are with our Father in Heaven (2 Corinthians 5:8). Upon the return of Christ, He will bring those who sleep in Him back to earth with Him.

I Thessalonians 4:15
15 “For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.”

Those who remain alive at the return of Jesus Christ cannot “prevent(Strong’s word: 5348), which is to say “precede” those who have passed on before us. Why? We are still in a flesh body while they have died in the flesh and have already risen into their spiritual body with Christ. We should note, our spiritual body has mass, it has substance, but it is not corruptible, it does not die (1 Corinthians 15:35-55). Further, Angels and men ate each others food as documented in Genesis 19:1-3 and Psalms 78:24-25.

I Thessalonians 4:16
16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”

The Trump of God is the last trump, the seventh. “In the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished,” (Revelation 10:7). When this trumpet sounds there will be time no more as Christ will have returned and His feet will be firmly placed upon the Mount of Olives. Remember, we just documented in Acts 3:20-21 that Christ must remain in Heaven until the fulfillment of all prophecy which occurs at the sounding of the seventh trumpet.

However, we must understand the trumpets are in chronological order, six comes before seven. At the sixth trumpet, which is Satan’s trumpet, he will be cast from Heaven to earth along with his angels (Revelation 12:9). Satan will act as the Lamb to deceive the nations into believing he is Christ returned. If you are entangled in the lie called the rapture you will end up worshipping Satan believing he is Jesus Christ returned to rapture you away. This is one of Satan’s many wicked lies.

I Thessalonians 4:17
17 “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Now we have a clear picture. We that are alive and remain at the seventh trumpet which is the return of Christ will instantly be changed into our spiritual bodies to meet Him and those (in Christ) who have passed on before us. The word “air(109) in this verse means “breathe.” This is the breath of life which is our spirit and soul, this is what God breathed into Adam (Genesis 2:7). In essence, this is the change of bodies from flesh to spirit as Paul told us would occur “in the twinkling of an eye” at the last trump. There are only seven trumps my friends, this is the event of the seventh trump (I Corinthians 15:51-56). Further, if you are not in a spiritual body, then Jesus has not yet returned, no matter what miracles are being displayed upon the earth!

Let us now take a look at the word cloud” as used in the verse we just read. Turn your Bibles with me to,

Hebrews 12:1
1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”

Every Christian understands this verse is a figure of speech which references a multitude of people being gathered together. Yet, they let the word “cloud” confound them in 1 Thessalonians 4 and Matthew 24. What have we learned about the return of Christ? We discovered that Christ is bringing back with Him those (believers) who have passed on before us. Christ is bringing back a multitude of people, a cloud of people as Paul would describe it in these verses. Do not let this be a mystery to you.

We are not flying away. Remember, Jesus is returning one time to the Mount of Olives which occurs after the Tribulation of Satan, the Anti-Christ. The earth is where Christ will reign with the Saints for one-thousand years, which is the Lord’s Day also known as the Millennium.

In I Thessalonians 5:1-6, Paul tells us to stay awake, be sober and watch. Had a rapture been a part of God’s plan we would not have been given this warning. Nor would we be told to equip ourselves with “the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” (Ephesians 6:10-17). Did it say run and hide or fly away? No! We are to stand like a man or woman of God against Satan. As a matter of fact the oil in our vessels is comprised of the very armour of God. How much oil is in your lamp?

With that said, now let us take a look at Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians.

II Thessalonians 2:1
1 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,”

The topic is the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we gather together with Him.

II Thessalonians 2:2
2 “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”

Paul wrote this second letter to the Thessalonians in order to provide clarity concerning our gathering back to the Lord.

II Thessalonians 2:3
3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”

What day shall not come? The Day of the Lord, our gathering back unto Him. What “falling away?” The “falling away” (646) from God’s Word which means, defection from truth.” Who is the “man of sin”, the “son of perdition“? It is none other than Satan himself, “perdition” means to “perish“, to “die“. Satan is the only one that has been condemned to death by name (Revelation 20:10, Ezekiel 28:18-19).

This verse makes it abundantly clear, the Day of the Lord, His return shall not happen until there is a “defection from truth” which is a defection from one’s professed faith, this is the Great Apostasy. This occurs when Satan, “the man of sin” appears in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ. The whole world including most Christians will stop believing in Jesus Christ and start worshipping Satan as they believe him to be Christ. They believe him to be Christ because of the miracles Satan performs and their lack of understanding of God’s Word (Revelation 13:13-14).

II Thessalonians 2:4
4 “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

The “son of perdition“, Satan has always wanted to be God as we can read of in Isaiah 14:12-16 where God called him “Lucifer“. Satan’s sin was that he wanted to be God himself and he wants everyone to worship him. He will get the opportunity to play God on the earth before men for a short time when he is cast out of Heaven. Satan being the father of lies and deception will “doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,” (Revelation 13:13) deceiving even ‘if it were possible the very elect(Matthew 24:24). This is why Christ stated, ‘if they say I am here or there believe it not,’ (Matthew 24:26-27). Why? When the True Christ appears we will be instantly changed into our spiritual bodies and not one moment before that.

II Thessalonians 2:5-6
5 “Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?”

6 “And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.”

Who will be revealed? Satan and all of his lies will finally be revealed to the entire world. Though it will be one day too late for the world as the appearance of Christ brings this action forth.

II Thessalonians 2:7
7 “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.”

The subject in this verse is still Satan. Michael holds Satan in Heaven and he will be the one who casts him out (Revelation 12:7). That is what we are talking about here. He who letteth, (he who holds Satan) will let (will continue to hold Satan) until he (Michael) casts Satan and his angels out of Heaven and unto earth, this is the war in Heaven (Revelation 12:7-9).

II Thessalonians 2:8
8 “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:”

What wicked? Satan, who will appear on earth before Christ at the sixth trump, claiming to be Christ as verse four states. Then our Lord will return at the seventh trump to destroy Satan’s reign upon the earth. Remember, there are a total of seven trumps and they are all in order.

II Thessalonians 2:9
9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,”

Paul just told you these scriptures are about Satan and even named him so there is no doubt who the scriptures have been referring to. And pay attention to the sequence of events. The coming of Christ is after the lying wonders of Satan. Satan will perform miracles in the sight of men to prove to them he is Christ.

This leaves absolutely no room for a rapture of the church my friends. Quite the contrary, we are not going anywhere. The job of the Saints is to prophesy against the false messiah who is Satan which will appear on earth before men (Luke 21:12-18).

Matthew 24:29
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:”

After the Tribulation of those days, which are the days of Anti-Christ. The days when Satan will play his role as Jesus Christ, that is the Tribulation. Christ will not return until after Satan has been cast out of Heaven and is on the earth claiming to be Christ. As documented in II Thessalonians 2:2-4.

Matthew 24:30
30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

Once again documenting Christ’s return is after the Tribulation and workings of the false messiah, Satan. We should note, these tribes are not the 144,000 who are sealed before the Tribulation.

God knew long ago that His most precious Word would be distorted by the traditions of man. Turn your Bibles with me to,

2 Timothy 4:3-4
3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

And so that time has come. We have multitudes of different denominations teaching various traditions of man which make void the Word of God. These Christians are like a reed shaken in the wind, leaning whichever way the wind blows. Ears that cannot hear God’s Truth, but ears that are quick to listen to the traditions of man, quick to listen to whatever sounds good at the moment. God’s Truth always sounds good for those with eyes to see and ears to hear!

Our Father also knew the traditions of man would lead to the lie called the rapture. Turn your Bibles with me to,

Ezekiel 13:3, 6-7
3 “Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.”

7 “Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?”

Divination, “the power of foreseeing, prediction, to be inspired by a god.” That god is not our God, yet many claim to have seen visions from the Lord both past and present which has led to many false doctrines, even new religions. These are vain, which is to say empty visions which offer false hope by false prophets which God is clearly against. God is saying, ‘they have seen nothing, I have not sent them!’

Ezekiel 13:9
9 “And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.”

These are the very words of your Father who is against these false teachers. If you are teaching God’s Word you better be certain you are teaching correctly. Those who teach will be judged first! Listen to the Words of your Father.

Ezekiel 13:17
17 “Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,”

Just as Margaret McDonald claimed to have a vision, which the preachers of the time brought forth of their own vain and corrupt hearts.

Ezekiel 13:18-19
18 “And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?

19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?”

These false prophets who preach a rapture are sowing pillows over the armholes which block God’s outreaching saving arms, sowing over the very truth of His Word. God is stating, can your lies bring Salvation to the people? Obviously they cannot, only God has the power to accomplish this.

Ezekiel 13:20
20 “Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

God is against those who sow pillows over His outreaching saving arms. He is against those who teach His children to fly to save their souls. God is boldly stating He is against the rapture doctrine.

A part of this deception is due to the fact that many Christians are told they do not need to read the book of Revelation. I beg to differ, more importantly God does. The very word Revelation (602 from 601) means, “to be revealed”, “to take off the cover”. Further, the Word of God including the book of Revelation is so important we have this warning, “if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life,(Revelation 22:18-19). Had the book of Revelation not been important nor meant to be understood God would have never given us this warning. With that having been said please turn your Bibles with me to,

Revelation 4:1
1 “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”

Rapturists believe God is calling the church to Heaven in this verse. Was the voice talking to the church? Absolutely not! The voice from Heaven was talking to John (Revelation 1:1). John was taken to Heaven and shown the future. Christ is not bringing the church to Heaven, Christ is coming here. Wherever God is, Heaven is also.

Revelation 7:1
1And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”

After what things? After John witnessed the events of the first six seals. Then we read of the four angels who are holding back the very winds that initiate the Trumpets sounding. You can document this by studying Revelation 8 where the earth, sea and trees are harmed (they are not literally harmed) when the first two Trumpets sound.

Revelation 7:2-3
2 “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,”

3 “Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”

For every negative there is a positive. While Satan’s mark is known as the Mark of the Beast, God has His own mark called a Seal as this verse just documented. Both are placed in the receivers foreheads which is to say their brain. It is the lie of Satan or truth of God’s Word which is firmly planted in their brains.

The four angels holding the four winds at bay were told by the angel of the east not to release the four winds until the servants of God are sealed. The sealing of God’s servants with His Word is so important the Tribulation cannot begin until it is completed! If God had intended to rapture away the righteous of His flock they would not be here and this requirement would not be in His Word. In essence, this sealing is our spiritual armour of Ephesians 6, the armour we equip ourselves with in order to make a stand against Satan. It is the very oil in our lamps.

If we continue reading Revelation 7:4-8 we will document the 144,000 who are sealed consist of 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel. These are the Saints who are delivered up to Satan, not raptured before the Tribulation. This documents all twelve tribes of Israel are God’s chosen to bring forth the Word of God, not just Judah which is a single tribe (Acts 10:36).

Revelation 7:9
9 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;”

After what? After the Tribulation, after the return of the True Christ, on the Lord’s Day. John beheld a multitude of all the peoples of the earth, different nations, races and languages who were before the throne of God. These also overcame the Tribulation of Satan and his One World Beast Government.

Revelation 7:10-13
10 “And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.”

11 “And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,”

12 “Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.”

13 “And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

The Elder said to John, who are these in white robes standing around the throne of God?

Revelation 7:14-15
14 “And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.”

These are the very Saints who stood against Satan and came out of the great Tribulation. They are rewarded for the stand they made against Satan by serving at the very throne of Almighty God! For them to have come out of the great Tribulation, they had to go through it. Documenting there is no rapture of the church or Saints. Jesus said himself in John 17:15, “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

We are kept from evil just as the woman (symbolic of the twelve tribes) in Revelation 12:14 is protected from Satan and nourished in the wilderness for three and a half times which is the second half of the Tribulation of Satan. God always keeps us from evil and He provides a way out of temptation if we stay in His Word and seek out the scriptures asking Him for wisdom and understanding of them (1 Corinthians 10:13). We have numerous accounts of this from, Noah and the Ark, to Daniel in the lion’s den, Jonah in the whales belly and the three in the fiery furnace. “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come,(1 Corinthians 10:11).

The end of this earth age will come upon our generation. In the examples just given all of these individuals put in work for God and made a stand for Him. They were not raptured away. They made a stand just as we shall make a stand against Satan with the whole armour of God on and in place. During the Tribulation some of us will be delivered up before death, who is Satan (Hebrews 2:14), the false messiah at which time the Holy Spirit will speak through us. A testimony that even our “adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist(Luke 21:15). This act will convert many during the Tribulation.

I ask that you turn your Bibles one more time with me to,

Revelation 6:15-16
15 “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:”

The people of the earth hide themselves amongst the rocks as they are overcome with a paralyzing fear as it has now been revealed to the world they have been deceived by Satan. This reality grasps their very soul as they behold the appearance and Glory of the True Christ. As Matthew 13:42 documents, “there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

Revelation 6:17
17 “For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

We shall be able to stand! Instead of being rapture ready we need to be Tribulation ready. We can achieve that by no longer listening to the traditions of man and get into God’s Word asking Him for wisdom and understanding.

We make that stand against Satan properly suited with the whole armour of God as Ephesians 6 proclaims. We make that stand by ensuring we have enough oil in our lamps and vessels. This enables us to put forth a constant flame which dispels the dark lies and deception of Satan and his children in these end times and the Tribulation which is shortly to come!

  1. You have definitely given me something to think about.

  2. A very prominent theologian once said, and I’m paraphrasing here, “If, in fact, there is no rapture, then the Banquet in Heaven Jesus speaks about will have to be a box lunch!”, since the resurrection precedes the return of Christ and He returns with His saints. (Sorry folks, no time to eat, we have to run, we have a battle to go to so you’ll have to fight on an empty stomach!) Really? (And here He’ll need to squeeze in the judgement of the saints before the lunch!)

Either we believe in the rapture of the church or we don’t. In my mind, so-called mid-trib believers are saying that those on earth will suffer God’s wrath along with the unbieliving world.

God’s wrath will be poured out on an un-believing world!

  3. BillybonesIII,
Thanks for your participation. I don’t believe any of us should be concerned with what any Theologian said. No, we should be worried about what the Word of God says. Those who have died before us will comeback with Christ at the seventh trump. Christ doesn’t come twice, he comes once to the mount of Olives. Why would you want to leave when Christ is coming here? To stay on topic, do you have a bible verse you would like to use in support of a rapture? As none of them here do that. I plan to do a follow up as there is so much more to this topic.

    • Brandon

In all courtesy, I will not be drawn into an argument but please read I Thess. 4:15, 17 (NAS). Jesus clearly comes with the trumpet of God [not the seventh/last trump as some believe.] We who are alive at this coming go up to meet Him in the air. This is NOT the second coming as some think since He does not touch the earth.
This is where I think many make the error that this is the return. It is not!
But whether you believe or not in this interpretation, your salvation is secure if you believe that God came to earth to be born into a human body as Jesus(Emmanuel) and that he subsequently died on the Cross for my/our sin(of unbelief).
That brother, is the simple message of salvation. The gospel.

I will say no more on this.

      God bless you

    • BillybonesIII,

You may contact me if you wish to continue the discussion. For the watchers…

In I Thes. 4 13- the topic at hand is the returning of the Lord and our gathering back to him. Not the escape of the church nor is the church the topic, neither was it in Revelation, as documented.

There are only seven trumps, the trump of God is the seventh, the last. Always seek a second witness to what you perceive to believe. II Thes. 2 details the return as documented in this study. It will not happen until Satan is here claiming to be Christ. The saints go through the tribulation as documented in God’s Word (Rev. 7).

Furthermore, the rapture is a recent invention which started in the early 1800s. A troubled girl named Margret McDonald had a dream that the saints would be taken off the earth. You can read the book which documents this historically. It’s titled: The Incredible Cover-up found at:

  4. Thanks for this timely post. I plan to share it with my family and friends.

  5. I personally do not subscribe to a pre-trib rapture or sometimes called a “secret rapture”…. NTL, it is a very comforting extra-biblical doctrine preached in many churches. The rationale used is the second coming as described clearly above is not the rapture, but the rapture is a separate event, at the beginning of the TRIB, which is justified by the belief that Christians will not suffer persecution. It is a VERY APPEALING teaching, and it is almost impossible to dispute the “secret rapture” to those that fear persecution.

Take a few minutes and listen to Chuck Missler, parts 1 – 5.
It will shed some light and understanding on the subject.

  7. There is no rapture …. “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that t
hou shouldest keep them from the evil.” -Jesus (John 17:15)

  8. Brandon,
What about the verse that clearly says God has not appointed us to wrath?
    The Tribulation IS wrath.
What about God not judging Sodom and Gomorrah until Lot was gone? Something does not add up. What about Enoch and Elijah being a demonstration of being “taken”?

    • inChristalone,

Thank you for the comment. Can we argue with God’s plan? Biblically, what has God always required? The people to do the work. Who fed the multitude the fish and bread? It wasn’t Jesus, he told his disciples to do it (Jesus power was behind it). Jesus being God in the flesh came to show us how to get it done. I would encourage you to read Luke 21:12-18. The subject is the end, the tribulation, and that you, being one of God’s people will be used as a testimony for the entire world. The Holy Spirit will speak through you at that time. This is a study in itself. Christ has told you, you will be put before kings and rules to fulfill His Word. What a gracious honor! How will you do that if you are “ruptured?”

    • inChristalone

The tribulation is not wrath, it is trouble caused by satan being here on the earth. It is a trial, are you going to be deceived and follow satan or will you be working in the field until the true Christ returns. Christ will not return until AFTER the falling way, at which time the desolator will be revealed as satan himself.

At that time everyone who though they were going to be raptured away is going to be so ashamed of themselves for worshiping satan they are going to wish they were dead and try to hide from Christ and his angels.

It is pretty simple, the trumps are a call to action, watch any war movie, when they blow the trumpet it means to take action and do something. The trumps happen in order.

6 comes before 7 most people know that much.

satan gets here at the 6th and Christ returns at the 7th. In every school in the world they teach you 6 comes before 7. Do you not know this?

You are being deceived, there is no rapture. Christ is coming back with a cloud of angels in their breath of life (spiritual) bodies. We will see him coming, when he puts his feet on the mount of olives, that is it, no time left, no repenting at this point, too late. Everyone will be changed instantly into there breath of life bodies and the 1000 years begins here on earth, with Christ. Sorry Captain, Scotty cannot beam you out of this one.

If you are still in a flesh body, then Christ is not here. If Christ says get away from Me, I never knew you, then you screwed up and followed satan. Believing in the rapture is one sure way to follow satan. Everyone who is alive on earth is going through the tribulation. Only the Elect know the truth and will stand against satan. The rest will bow a knee. You are not going anywhere, but you are setting yourself up for a fall.

  9. BillyBones, time is short, you need to start rightly dividing the word of God. That means you need to understand what you are reading. You haven’t a clue. Satan is coming first at the 6th trump then Christ comes at the 7th, obviously you cannot count to 7. When satan gets here pretending to be Christ you are going to bow a knee to him. You already have the mark of the beast in your forehead. That means in your brain. You have already been deceived.

  10. To InChristAlone and all those who may be struggling with this teaching.

Fathers wrath will be pour out on the earth toward the end of tribulation, but not on those who love and serve Him. This has been His way throughout time. Look at Egypt as the example, how His own had light and freedom from the 10 plagues poured out while their neighbors took the force of His wrath.

As for facing the enemy, surely Father has prepared us to stand with His armor , sword, helmet and shield against the adversary. Father will give His children the strength and supply every need and in Daniel chapter 10 : they will “do exploits”.

I understand how some of you feel hearing this for perhaps the first time. I remember that at first, for me it did not compute. That was because I did not have a fullness of the Word in understanding, only the teachings of men. But I challenge you all to seek His Word and not the “traditions of men”, even putting out a fleece in prayer seeking the facts there with the leading and teaching of the Spirit for truths we shall all soon face. Prepare with faith in Him to withstand any and every day He has proclaimed for us on the earth.

One thing for sure, His plan will stand whether any of us understand /accept it or not.

    I can do all things…remember?

  11. Many believers think that Matthew 24:40-41 describes the rapture. I often wondered what that verse was about. It always troubled me since it didn’t really say it was the rapture; therefore, does Matt 24:40-41 really pertain to the rapture?
    1. Context–The context of Matt 24:40-41 does not suggest Yeshua is talking about a “rapture”. The context is one in which we find Yeshua talking about the judgment of the ungodly. See verse 37-39, which establishes the context of verses 40-41. Note, Yeshua says that the flood “TOOK them all AWAY” meaning that they were TAKEN/killed in judgment/destruction. Verses 40-41 use the same wording, “one will be TAKEN”.
    2. Parallel Passage–Luke also records the same utterances from Yeshua, albeit with extra insight. In Luke 17:34-37 the disciples ask where will those who are TAKEN, be TAKEN to? In verse 37, those who are TAKEN are TAKEN to a place of judgment/destruction (a place of carcasses and vultures). Note how both passages give the same message. People TAKEN as in the day of Noah, into judgment/destruction. Clearly the place is not one someone wants to be “raptured” to.
    3. The Parable of the weeds–In the parable of the weeds Yeshua also talks about the end of the age when He returns (Matt 13:40-43). Note, when He comes He will send forth the angels to TAKE all the unsaved into judgment/destruction. Again, this passage matches up perfectly with the two referenced above. When He returns, He will first destroy the unsaved by taking them to a place of judgment/destruction.
    4. A question of timing–Both the Matthew passage and the Luke passage give the timing of the TAKING AWAY. It’s AFTER the “tribulation of those days”. So even if it did refer to the rapture (which it obviously doesn’t) it wouldn’t occur until after the tribulation, not before. Both of those passages clearly describe an event after the tribulation.
    5. Note, Revelation 19:17 When Yeshua returns, an angel calls the birds/vultures of the earth to prepare for a feast on the flesh of people. Verse 21 states that when Yeshua returns, the remnant (of evil doers, i.e., the tares of Mt 13) will be killed by Yeshua and that the fowl will eat their flesh. These scriptures match perfectly with those found in Mt 13, 24 and Lk 17.
    6. It is a mistake to apply the Scriptures above to the rapture 1) because NONE
of them say anything about BELIEVERS being RAPTURED to MEET
YESHUA in the AIR to be with HIM FOREVER, and 2) because none of
the parallel passages teach anything about BELIEVERS being RAPTURED
to MEET YESHUA in the AIR to be with HIM FOREVER. As you can see,
the parallel passages do not support (in any stretch of the imagination) a
secret pre-trib rapture of the church. This is very important. Please read the
passages again. They don’t state any of the above statements concerning a
pre-trib rapture as is so popularly taught.
    7. Last but not least: The Biblical understanding of Being “Taken Away”
The current interpretation by many believers is that those taken away
in Matthew 24 and Luke 17 are taken away in the rapture.
Torah Foundation–Although most believers would mentally agree that the
Tanakh (“Old Testament”) is the foundation for understanding the New Covenant
(“New Testament”), few hardly ever build the foundation of their faith on the
Tanakh, which is the only true biblical source for a foundation.
As with most non-Jewish believers who were saved and discipled in the
traditional Church institution, the foundations of my

    • Matthew chapter 13 is not the parable of the weeds. Its the Parable of the wheat and tares. and Yahshua(I used to spell it wrong to but that is what it sounded like to me, I don’t have very good hearing) but I don’t believe that He is talking about Judgement yet. You see the Parable of the Wheat and The Tares is something entirely different, The Son of Man planted the Wheat (which is symbolic of Gods People, House of Judah, and the House of Israel) the Tares (which looks like wheat but isn’t its a blackish corrupt plant symbolic of the Kenites) To understand what the Kenites you would need to study what really happened in the Garden of Eden plus a study on Who are the Kenites” But the lesson here that Christ Jesus is conveying is in reply to what one of His disciples asked him <” should we pull up the tares”? by this time of the question asked of Christ Jesus, the wheat and the tares were ready to be harvested” but Christ Jesus replied and said, ” No, if you pluck up the tares you’ll take some of the wheat with it. We were told to leave the Tares alone, and that the Angels (goodly) can tell them apart and just pluck up the tares. that is my understanding of the Parables of the Wheat and Tares. I study at shephards chapel. very very knowledgable pastors. Most excellent.

  12. This less than ideal understanding will exist because you will lack the proper foundational understanding to interpret Renewed Covenant passages properly. This should be self-evident. Earlier I stated that the Tanakh couldn’t be fully understood without the illumination of the Renewed Covenant Scriptures. Now we see that the reverse is true also. It will be impossible to fully comprehend the Renewed Covenant Scriptures without the foundation from the Tanakh. They are two witnesses that go hand in hand. Understanding that Torah is a FOUNDATION for understanding the New Covenant Scriptures, we can go to the Torah and quickly learn that the phrase “take away” was a Hebrew idiom which meant to destroy/kill something/someone. When Yeshua spoke of some people being taken and some left, He was simply using this idiom to say that those taken were taken for destruction. Here are only a few verses (from the Tanakh) of the many, that clearly teach–to be TAKEN AWAY is to be taken to destruction: · Isaiah 57:13 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
    · Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
    · Isaiah 40:24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown:
yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
    · Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
    · Ezekiel 30:4 And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down.
    · Ezekiel 33:4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
    · Daniel 11:12 And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
    · Hosea 1:6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
    · Matthew 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
    · 2 Kings 12:3 2 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. In light of 1) the proper analysis of Yeshua’s statements in their context and 2) understanding “TAKEN AWAY” as a Hebrew idiom for destruction, I don’t think the passage in Matthew 24 is a proof text for the “rapture”. In the context of Matthew 24, I think I’d rather be

    • “This less than ideal understanding will exist because you will lack the proper foundational understanding to interpret Renewed Covenant passages properly.”

“Earlier I stated that the Tanakh couldn’t be fully understood without the illumination of the Renewed Covenant Scriptures.”

What planet are you from buddy? Drop the trash talk and keep your tanakh to yourself. We are Christians here, not whatever it is you are talking about. We go by God’s word, not what you and other men dream up. Get yourself a KJV bible and a Strong’s Concordance. Translate the words back to what was in the original manuscripts and learn some truth. You are so far from God’s truth you are either utterly deceived or you are intentionally doing satan’s work and deceiving people. Either way, God is not happy with you. Christ said not to change his word, haven’t you read?

  13. Brandon,

I believe your thesis is in error. Please consider a couple reasons.

    1. You changed the word “air” to “breath” ignoring the context of “clouds”.

    2. 2pet 1:20 Privately interpreting the “trump of God” as the “last trumpet, the seventh” found in revelation. The trump of God is distinguishing the authority and certainty of the shout. 1 Cor 14:7,8,10 This is Jesus Christ himself (read the text) using the voice of an “angel” not man’s voice and the authority of God to raise the dead and catch “up” the living for a battle that is about to take place. No changing of words or context necessary.

    3. You started out over exaggerating about churches teaching this doctrine. It is abandoned regularly because of false prophets predicting dates, teachers that do not know how to study and “rightly divide” the scriptures as directed, and people that are tired of waiting. The Catholic Church does not teach a pre-tribulation rapture so that when it happens they can tell the world that Jesus has come and the tribulation is over when in reality it is just starting.

    4. God has one unfulfilled week (7years) to deal specifically with Israel. The bible states and warns of teachers that miss this important point. Read carefully.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Rom 11:25

For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? Rom 11:15

Did you get that “life from the dead”

    5. II Thes, is dealing with two events, (his coming “and” the gathering) two preconditions and two revelations.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

Paul said “remember…I told you these things?” “and now ye know what withholdeth” I’m sorry but it is not Michael the Archangel.

I won’t tell but I’ll give you a clue. Jesus cannot come back until the Anti-christ is revealed and the Anti-christ cannot be revealed until something is taken out of the way. And remember He’s already told you what that is.

Mysteries in the Bible are written so that some can understand while others scratch their head.

I hope you will reconsider your error. There are hundreds of verses new and old that teach a disaperance/departure of people and then the tribulation.

    Pastor Steve

    • Pastor Steve,

      Thanks for your comment.

Firstly, I didn’t change the word. Look it up yourself in the Strong’s Concordance. It’s 109 which I documented. Understand the Bible was NOT written in English but translated to it. There was no English language in those days.

Secondly, I couldn’t respectfully disagree with your comment more. II Thes. 2 is about the return, what happens when someone comes home when they are gone for along time? You go love on them. You don’t all disappear somewhere when they show up or go hide for awhile. Nor does II Thes. 2 give any indication of this. You are partly right, saying Jesus won’t return until Anti-Christ is revealed. The man of sin, the son of perdition that is Satan we are talking about. Satan is the Anti-Christ who comes in peace as the book of Daniel so states.

By accepting the rapture doctrine you are lining yourself up and your congregation to accept the first one that comes, you will be worshipping Satan and think it’s Christ. Very dangerous my friend.

God expects his people to speak before kings, to have the Holy Spirit speak through them for a testimony (Luke 21). How will you do that if you’re gone? Jesus is coming back here friend. Look back to the book of Daniel. The three stood their ground and were thrown into the fiery furnace that was heated seven times hotter than it needed to be. They didn’t disappear. No, Jesus protected his servants who stand by Him, He was in the fire with them and they were just fine. Not even the smell of smoke on their clothes.

The Bible is not in error sir, it is mans misunderstandings. There is no room for a rapture. We are watchman and are awaiting the day of his return but before that day we must go through tribulation and I’m looking forward to it. Doing the Lord’s work at that time!

  14. I just wanted to take the time to thank you my friend sound teaching straight “out of the word of GOD ” . There can be no deniing when all your doing is relaying a message from the bible . Now days and ESPECIALLY in American POP-culture feel good Christianity people “LOVE ” to argue and bicker about the WORD OF GOD ,because some “TEACHER” has taught some lesson on a suject in their past or present . Well my friends , I dont mean to be any form of berrer of bad tidings, but , it does say in GODs Word , that in the last days many will gather to themselves teachers with iching ears who teach false doctrine and doctrines of demons . I am no scholar , I am no theologian , I AM “CHIEF” among all sinners , so nobody has to or should take my word for it ……….ALL I truthfully ask from the bottom of my heart is that in the days ahead of us that we as “THE WORLD” are faced with , please treat EACH OTHER with BROTHERLY LOVE and ALL kindness , for the greatest thing we could ever posssibly HOPE to accomplish in this short life on earth is to love ONE ANOTHER as CHRIST first loved us and showed us a path as HE first died for us and gave himself for us on that cross of calvary . It says in LUKE that we should not argue with one another and bicker and fight for it is not beneficial to the faith that we proclaim we ALL have …….each and every one of us who are in CHRIST JESUS OUR TRUE AND LIVING SAVIOR ! For if we look and act just like the world around us what differance have we then ? And this I Promise my dearest brothers and sisters …… can we win the lost to CHRIST AND CHRIST ALONE if we dont show them first how to love by the way in which we love one another , for i promise , they already have enough reasons to HATE us ………….I Ask us in this hour and time of such need , let us ALL lay down pride and childish differances and take up our CROSS of humility and lead those who are truely lost ! AMEN ! AND AMEN !
I truely love you all with only CHRIST LOVE AND HIM ALONE . your friend PERRY

    • If you take the time to look around the site you will know this to be true.

I understand your point. Accepting Jesus Christ will get you through the gate. But do you want to be naked in heaven? Many mistake judgment day as a bad thing. For those who perform evil deeds. It will be a bad day. For those who follow his Word with righteous acts it will be a wonderful day. The saints will inherit God himself. What a wonderful promise. No one ever received a blessing by running away from God’s Word or the Work he has required of us. During the tribulation some of us will be blessed enough to have the Holy Spirit speak through us before kings and rulers for a testimony of the Lord which NO man can gainsay against. Will you be one of them? Luke 21.

    • Right on Brandon, well said. Keep up the good work.

  16. Brandon,

You did change the meaning of the word by finding a second connotation of the word. A trick people use regularly to make the Bible say what they want.

Waiting for the rapture is the ONLY doctrine that saves anyone from accepting anyone that comes. I don’t meet Jesus on this earth; I meet Him on a cloud. That my friend is not an Anti-christ deception.

Anonymous is very correct about “taken away”, but there is a much easier way to see it.

(Luk 17:27) . . .the flood came, and destroyed them all.

(Mat 24:39) . . .the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

(Luk 17:36) Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

(Luk 17:37) And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

“took them all away”, “destroyed them all” Jesus answers the question HIMSELF Lk 17:37. The people “left” are going to enjoy a thousand years of peace with Jesus Christ and the “RESURECTED” saints that God brings with him.

The church is not the doctrinal fulfillment of Lk 21 although they have been doing this very thing since the first arrest(see the book of Acts et al.) The turning of the nation of Israel to Jesus Christ is the Biblical mandated purpose of the tribulation.

To say Michael is the withholder when the answer is in the text is Looney tunes.

    See you in the breath.

    • The verses concerning the flood. What happened to those people? They were destroyed, they were bad people who didn’t listen to God. This is not talking about a rapture.

Concerning two in the field. What is the subject? The coming of the Lord. What’s it say in the scripture? Let’s read.

      Matthew 24
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Watch because you don’t know when he will return. If a rapture were true there would be no need to watch. Jesus is saying one will be taken by anti-christ, deceived. What does Jesus say to the faithful servant still working in the field? Blessed is that servant.

    • Right on Brandon! We have to 1st and foremost be obeying Messiah Yahushua’s commandments proving we love him. This is the kind of love that is not a tinkling cymbal or clanking gong. This also will keep us from being lukewarm in these last days! That is certainly something no believer wants to be is lukewarm for Messiah will spit us out and count us with the enemy for there is no neutral ground with Messiah. We are either for him or against him. We are to watch and pray to be counted worthy and anyone doing that will be obeying Him for you will be wanting him to say well done thou good and faithful servant. So let’s be prepared to be instant in season and out. Let’s occupy til Messiah returns and we will see him at the last trumpet!

    • Pastor Sumner,
When Christ returns he is going to deal with you false pastors first before he moves on to the fools that listened to you. That is the wrath that is coming, that is the cup Christ asked God to take away if it be His will, and that is what you have to look forward to. Christ has a rod of iron with your name on it.

  17. 2 Thess. 2:2-3 – “falling away” is the common modern translation of the greek word apostasia. Before the King James version came into being (which by the way has some major issues, as a result of the King’s demands, but not fundamentals of the faith fortunately), all versions to that date agreed that apostasia was to be understood to mean a DEPARTURE, not a falling away. This is critical and helps so many other verses make sense.

ALong these lines, I ask a question – what good Bridegroom allows his bried to experience his own wrath? None. The truth is, our Bridegroom, Yeshua, will NOT permit His Bride to experience His own wrath. How is this possible? Yeshua said He goes to prepare a place for us (the prepared aka His Bride – John 14:2-3). Revelation 12:6 then describes just such a place for the “woman” escaping into the wilderness, while at the same time, the dragon is being cast down to earth. The Bride and the Dragon (Satan) trade places.

Be a good Berean and check all this out for yourself.

    • Scott in Texas,

Welcome. The word “falling away” here is Greek word 646 in your Strong’s Concordance. The word “away” can mean:

feminine of the same as – apostasion 647; defection from truth (properly, the state) (“apostasy”):–falling away, forsake.

So the word is correct in the KJV, “falling away”. Please follow the timing sequence. II Thes 2 says, Christ shall NOT return until the man of sin is revealed. The man of sin is Satan. Why is the timing so hard to follow? For your claim to be true it would contradict a big portion of the bible.

God’s wrath is not poured out until the seventh trump when He returns. Let me ask you this. Were the three harmed when they were thrown into the fiery furnace, when it was heated seven times hotter? Was Daniel harmed in the lion’s den? Did Noah and those aboard the ark perish in the flood? The answer is no. During the tribulation God will also comfort those who stand by Him as He protected those who stood by Him before. Luke 21 tells us, during the tribulation we will be brought before kings and rulers to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us. It continues by saying NOT ONE HAIR ON YOUR HEAD SHALL PERISH. Just like during the days of old you will be ok.

We should not be afraid or lean on feel good doctrine when God’s Word gives us all knowledge if we only seek it out.

    • How about Luke 21:16?

…and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

What about the hairs on their heads?

      Paul M.

    • Paul,

Do not stop, continue to read,

      Luke 21
17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

Those are Christ’s Words, who will you believe Christ or man? Concerning death in verse 16. Who is death? “death, that is, the devil” – Hebrews 2:14. Remember we have to rightly divide the Word of God. If something does not add up we have made an error in our understanding or there is a mis-translation.

We are currently working on a study documenting the Saints and what happens to them during the Tribulation. I think you will enjoy it.

    • Brandon,

I did read all that. My reply was short, as I was writing on my ridiculous iPhone. Here are the verses again:

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

I think Jesus is saying Christians will be persecuted in the end times, even to physical death. But not to worry, as their soul will be saved.

Mathew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

That’s my humble opinion, anyway. I am very new to Christ, as he only came to me in October of 2012. I was raised with no religion at all, and am 42 now. I started attending a local bible church last year, and am getting baptized this Sunday!

As far as ‘rightly dividing the word of God,’ how will we know if we have divided it correctly? ‘The proof of the pudding is in the eating,’ as they say. We won’t know until it actually happens. until then,

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

I am trying not to take my salvation for granted.

      Paul M.

    • Paul,

First, let me say congratulations on becoming a Christian!

You are digging into God’s Word like you are suppose to, very good. You know when you have rightly divided the Word correctly when everything lines up and there are no contradictions. I am working on the Saints study of the Tribulation right now and hope to have it completed in a few weeks.

In the meantime. Christ was not talking about your soul in that verse. Hair not being harmed was a very specific thing. Do me a favor. Go read Daniel 3 and read carefully about the three in the fiery furnace…

    • Brandon,

OK, I read Daniel 3. Sure, they were protected from the fiery furnace. Even their hairs were not singed.

Could you please comment directly on the apparent contradiction between being ‘put to death’ and ‘there shall not an hair of your head perish?’ in Luke 21?

This topic seems timely, considering the Christians that are reportedly being tortured and even murdered in the Middle East, as documented on your own website. It makes me wonder if I would be able to endure such torture for Christ’s sake. It also makes me realize that committing to Christ is not something to be taken lightly.

      Paul M.

    • Paul,

I did answer in my original reply to you. Please see that. Hebrews 2:14 documents who death is. For further comment on this topic please send me an email as this is off topic for this article. Thank You.

yes Brandon ,i most definitely agree –this is a great site–compliments of Peg aka slapthedevil

  19. Brandon,
Good study–very logical, Biblically sound and to the point!! There will be NO return of Christ (in the clouds or anywhere else) until AFTER Satan and his fallen angels have been here on earth in Jerusalem deceiving the world and claiming Satan is “Almighty God” etc. Speaking of I Thessalonians 4 and “clouds”, Paul makes very interesting use of the word “clouds” in Hebrews 12 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a CLOUD OF WITNESSES, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1). So here Paul is talking about a CLOUD of Christian witnesses that all gather to Christ at His Return—which does not take place until the 7th Trump–the Final Trump.
All Pastors, “Bible teachers”, ministers, etc who teach contrary to sound Biblical doctrine are not only obviously deceived–they will have A LOT to answer for if they end up leading their entire congregations to worshiping Satan ie the FIRST “Messiah” to set foot on the earth with his New World Order–global government. Christ is going to be doing a lot of “spewing” people out of His mouth at the time unfortunately (See Matthew 7). Thank the Eternal Father there is the 1000-Year period for people who screw up now to hopefully get things right with Christ during that time. Blessed is he who gets it right NOW, remains faithful to the True Christ through the tribulation period and takes part in the 1st Resurrection ie gets to serve Christ in His earthly Kingdom coming. Thanks again Brandon and keep up the good work!!

  20. Wonderful study Brandon. I would like to add that the word “air” in I Thess Chapter 4 verse 17 is 109 in the greek dictionary in your Strong’s Concordance. It means “to Breathe” or simply “Breath”. The hebrew word for breath or “to breathe” is Ruwach. 7307 or 7306 in the Hebrew dictionary in your concordance. What does Ruwach mean in English? Spirit! The Holy Spirit.
That is what this means here in I Thess. We are to meet the Lord in the Spirit. See I Cornithians 15:50-54. We cannot meet or be with Jesus or God; neither can we enter Heaven in our flesh bodies. Those of us still here in the flesh have to be changed. In the twinkling of an eye. We must put on the incorruptable.

The clouds mentioned in I Thess 4:17 is not what many think. It is not the puffy, cotton looking things we see up in the sky. See Hebrews 12:1. “So great a cloud of witnesses”. We are talking about a lot of people coming with the Lord as he descends from Heaven back to earth. His destination: Mt Olives. His sights on Jerusalem. He comes with a rod of iron. For war.

We who stayed faithful to Him will join Him when he descends with all those people who are Christian who have died and went before us to Heaven. This is what these verses in I Thess mean. Just as Brandon said “Follow the subject”. I hope this helps some of you who still have confusions concerning this topic. God Bless you all in your studies.

  21. Great study Brandon!

This subject, like so many others in the Bible, is so clear-cut, it is hard to understand how many people do not understand. It would seem like a person would need to have a huge leap of faith to believe in the rapture theory. It is called only a theory because, it cannot possibly be proven.

The million dollar question is why do so many people believe the rapture rubbish? Let’s look at a few possibilities:
1.) The rapture is what I was taught by a reputable teacher. Everyone wants to believe in their Pastor. After all, he is a man of God!… Years ago, I used to go to this Baptist Church. As far as I could tell, the Pastor was apparently still teaching everything he was taught in his training 40 years prior.
2.) Psychological. It is much more desirable to believe in the rapture. The thought of going through a tribulation is not very appealing at all!
3.) Ego. After believing something for so long, it is really hard for people to admit they were wrong. The mind has a way of rationalizing. We believe what we want to believe. Don’t let facts get in the way!

I am certain that there are other reasons, as for why people cling to this rapture theory. Perhaps some of you can provide some thoughts.

These are just some of the potential reasons why people do not believe the truth about any subject. In this case, the rapture. All I can say is to keep an open mind. Pray on it, seek the truth. It sets you free! (Proverbs 23:23) Buy the truth, and sell it not; Also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

  22. Great points Rod. People want to cling to the traditions they were taught by their so-called “Pastors”. I mean, after, Pastors or Seminaries cant be WRONG about anything can they?! If that were true then how would one explain how the Scribes and Pharisees in Christ’s day (the so-called “LEARNED ELDERS OF THE LAW” did not understand Who Yeshua the Christ is even though He had performed tons of miracles that were prophesied about Him? In Daniel 9:24-27 it’s made very clear that 483 years after Daniel uttered those words, Messiah would be here on earth beginning His ministry. The Scribes and Pharisees all had knowledge of the book of Daniel. My point is man needs to put their faith in the Almighty and put their faith in NO MAN–Pastor or otherwise. Let the Holy Spirit and common sense by your guide. Study to shew yourself approved as the Good Book says: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (II Timothy 2:15).

  23. Very nice and detailed picture of why there is no rapture, Brandon. Hopefully many will read and understand. We’re not here to be babies, we’re here to fight the devil. Thanks for posting.

  24. A very good article! The “secret rapture” theory is only about 170 years old. The ancient church, many of whom heard the apostles, did not teach this, but taught that the Body of CHRIST, the Church, would be on earth until HIS+ return in Power and Great Glory. The Church will be shielded and kept (sealed) and the judgements/wrath will be upon those who worship anti-christ/satan, and will not touch HIS+ sealed and shielded “called-out” ones, HIS+ Church. Our calling is to stand strong for our LORD+, JESUS CHRIST, and proclaim HIM+ to all. HE+ is with HIS+ servants. HE+ has not left us here as orphans. We are HIS+ disciples and our joy is to do those things HE+ said and to keep HIS+ sayings. HE+ is our LIFE.
Thank you again for this good post. Bless you.

  25. Israel will be living in peace before the seven year contract. The world government is beginning at that time to take full shape. The Tribulation of Gods wrath begins in the middle of the seven years when Satan declares he is god. The wars/problems before the seven year contract are under Satan’s last years of earthly rule….but the wrath of God (which believers will be protected from) because it is from God upon a wicked world. Daniel

  26. If all righteous are raptured, why would the Bible say that the days will be cut short for the sake of the elect (chosen) or holy ones? Matthew 24:22 That means they will still be here on earth! John 17:15 Do not take them out of the world, but watch over them. Rev. 7:14 …these are the ones that come out of the great tribulation. Luke 21:34…come upon All those dwelling on earth. Matthew 13:24-30 says to first gather weeds then gather wheat, which is backwards from the rapture. Psalms 37:34 when the unrighteous are cut off, you will see it! Also see Psalms 37:10,11,12,13,18,19,22,29

The covenant promise was for land (earth) not heaven. The rapture invalidates the promise from God! Matthew 5:5 meek shall inherit the earth.

  27. less we forget, Ezekiel 13 -20 what God says about flying away. He is against it. got it, our Father is AGAINST IT. GOT IT …… from a Cherokee man who studies God’s word

  28. Matthew 24:29-31, Mark 13:24-27. Here is the ‘rapture’ the very same coming of the Lord and gathering together Paul wrote of in 2Thes. 2:1. Simple enough for a child to understand. ‘Immediately after the tribulation of those days…’ Those who keep the word of his patience will be preserved just as Israelites were living in Goshen when judgments fell on Egypt. Rev. 3:10. Watch and pray that you might be counted worthy to escape/flee out these things and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:36. Pay attention soon God will send two witnesses dressed in sackcloth to earth, one of them being Elijah, to prepare way for second coming of Messiah. Malachi 4:5-6, Rev. 11.

    • That is right, there is no rapture. Christ is coming back here to establish His Kingdom. When it says Christ has prepared a place for us, He is not talking about removing us from the Earth as He already prayed to keep the children in the world and not take them out as we documented. The Isralites in Goshen were not harmed, they were safe in their “place.”

  29. In the last year I’ve restarted my walk with God after he called to me and told me that it was time for me to turn to him andhe would take away all my pain (lost both of my teenage sons in ’03) if I would just give it to him and I did and broke down and cried with my whole being and he revealed to me when I cried out to him, why and he said that he let me do what I wanted as to strengthen me for what is to come, that I would do battle in h8s name and years ago I was prophesied over and told that I would speak to crowds so I believe that God has big plans ahead for me so the last year, I’ve been reading, praying, changing, and seeking and for months the state of our gov has been heavy on me and the antichrist and I’ve always had a hard time understanding the book of revelation until I stumbled onto this site tonight and my eyes have been opened however I’m still struggling with a couple of things and I will pray on this so I need advice for tye best translation of the bible to read and as of tonight I still haven’t found a church to attend and I’ve prayed about this but have always felt that God has a special, spirit filled church for me and that’s why i haven’t found my place yet so I’m asking for advice about how to proceed because I want to hear the word of god, his teachings the way I’m supposed to hear it and what is strong’s dictionary and what version of the bible is best that hasn’t been changed so much to suit mans plan. I want to learn about all ofrevelations and I need to know how and what study tools to use and of course I know to pray and let God guide me but I do need to be in the word always. I want to be prepared with God’s Armor at all times and be a witness for Christ so any suggestions are appreciated and so is any fellowship or teachings you feel led by God to offer. Tonight I’ve had my eyes opened quite a bit and I’m hungry for more. Thank you Brandon and the rest that had insightful input.

    • mamapammiepie, Thank you for your comment and sharing such a powerful story. I am very sorry about your children, but understand they are with the Father (2 Cor. 5:8). The best unaltered Bible is the KJV Bible, not the new or revised one either. As for a church, the only church I have found that teaches God’s Word verse by verse is Shepherd’s Chapel. We approve of them so much we link to them in every article on our site, you can start watching them right now online, there are many viewings options. You also asked for some assistance, understanding some things. Please send me an email I would love to chat with you, email me here.

  30. mamapammiepie you have come to the right place. I am very much like you. Extremely painful things have happened in my life and I know at least in part, it was to build my strength for the battle that is soon to be here. I do not Blame God for it, I know I did a lot to myself, but I do realize God has led me down a path because He has a job for me to do when Satan gets here.
It will not be easy to stand for God against this entire world, and for those who are going to you can bet Satan knows who you are and he is attacking you constantly. If he can get you to react and end up in jail or commit suicide or any other thing that will prevent you from testifying for God then Satan wins. Do Not let Satan win. Another thing, Only God’s Elect know the truth and have the strength to make the stand. If you are one of God’s Elect, Satan will be all over you. Here are two ways to encase yourself in God’s Armour. #1. This web site is an excellent source of truth and knowledge, stay with it. #2. Call the Shepherds Chapel, request the free tape “The Mark of The Beast”. It is free, no shipping and handling, nothing. It is free to you. The chapel is on over 325 TV stations, they have their own 24/7 satellite hookup. Ask them how to watch in your area. Pastor Murray has never taken a penny for teaching, he was called by God and he answered. His son Dennis also teaches. When you see them on TV you will find all they do is sit behind a desk and read the bible, verse by verse, the whole thing, and extremely important, they show you how to study for yourself. Here is there web info: You can download the daily studies from the web site and watch them on you computer.
    Introductory Offer:
Our free introductory package which includes the Mark of the Beast CD is available to new students – from the United States, Canada and Mexico call (800) 643-4645 or (479) 787-6026 or write to:
    Shepherd’s Chapel

God and these two sources will change your life. Follow through, you are on the right path. I pray you have eyes to see and ears to hear.
    God Bless

hi yes yes mamapammiepie and bible student~ I have been with the Shepherds Chapel and studying the Word Of God there for at least 10+ years and I am still learing stuff anew. There is one thing you cant rest assured of that Christ Jesus gave all Christians power over all their enemies including satan and his familiar (evil) spirits and evil angels. The Chapel recommends that you first become a strong Christian then get your self a small vial and fill it with extra virgin olive oil (which is the oil of our people) ask Father to bless it and assure him that you will use it in obiedience to Him, then you use it for just anointing house, or yourself. but you must be strong in Christ Jesus and never forget to say In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name while you are anointing. I learned alot from the chapel and they are just great Pastors. they explain things very well very well indeed . I know you will enjoy learning the Depth of Gods Word! I know I do.Onward Christian Solider put on the Whole Armour of GOD!

  31. Brandon, I was brought to salvation by our merciful LORD 30 years ago through the reading of the book of Revelation. It was preceded by the loss of one of my precious babies in what I can only describe as a supernatural appointed visitation. At any rate, I read the word in those days, as a person starving for truth. At the time, my husband And I began attending a church that taught a pre-trib rapture, when I dared to discuss with my pastor what I was seeing in the word and the connections in all of the books you have mentioned in this study I was told, it is in our mission statement that we believe in a pre-trib rapture so if you want to belong to our church you must adopt this view also. My point is that there was no offer of prayer, or come let us reason or anything else we are admonished from scripture to do to gain more understanding. I was confused, I was earnestly seeking the truth and was attempting to understand how he could see the same scriptures and come to such a different conclusion then what I was sincerely seeing, especially since he taught on other subjects and seemed to be right on. Many years have passed and I have to say, many times I wanted to believe in a pre-trib rapture, mostly because of the grief I experienced when I dared to speak out about what I felt the LORD was revealing to me in my studies. Wow, people get down-right nasty regarding this subject! I have found that most of the congregational folks who believe this are basing it on what they have heard from the pulpit or read in the left behind series, because when I mention specific verses that seem to dispute what they believe they seem clueless and speak the well worn one or two verses that they apparently think seals the deal.
I pray, we all seek first HIS Kingdom and HIS Righteousness, and that HE heads us into all truth for HIS NAME’S sake….

    • Sophie, sorry about your loss, but your child is with the Lord as you know. Concerning your story, I am so glad you stuck with what you felt God was telling you rather than some man. By the church making that statement to you, I am sure that confirmed for you where your information came compared to where his came from. I have had many conversations with pro-rapture believers and only one went well. You have to understand you are taking their security blanket away from them. If they only took the security of God’s Word they wouldn’t need that blanket of lies.

  32. John 17:15 cited above–if this verse doesn’t convince folks there is no rapture, then maybe John 17:20 will…the not-to-be-removed-disciples Christ refers to in 17:15 is, in 17:20, applied to all disciples who come after these disciples-meaning it applies, the non-removal that is, to us believers today. To repeat: THERE WILL BE NO RAPTURE!!! Thanks Brandon for making the picture even more clear with this new post.
