When Will The Antichrist Be Revealed?

Name: Barb
Question: Will you please explain why you say the Antichrist/Satan comes to earth at the sixth trumpet? I do not understand how Satan arrives with the 200 million horsemen.

Answer: Barb, thank you for the question and comment.

The 200 million or “two hundred thousand thousand” horsemen are the angelic Locust Army that appears on earth with Satan. They are those who will be cast from Heaven to earth with Satan at the Sixth Trumpet, (Revelation 12:7-9, 9:16).

Satan’s Number

Satan’s number is six.

We find special reference to him, his actions, and his kingdom in the Sixth Seal, Trumpet, and Vial.

Please turn your Bible with me to,

Revelation 13:18
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The Beast being described is the Dragon from verse 11, that is Satan the Antichrist, (Revelation 12:9). Naturally, Satan is the great imitator, (2 Corinthians 11:14). Satan will appear on earth claiming to be God, claiming to be our Savior before the real Savior, (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12).

So when does the real Jesus Christ appear?

The Seventh Trumpet

At the Seventh Trumpet.

Revelation 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

This verse makes it extremely clear, Jesus does not return until the Seventh Trumpet. Therefore, Satan must appear before Jesus in order to deceive mankind into believing he is God. That is exactly what 2 Thessalonians 2 explains.

The Fifth And Sixth Trumpet

In order to properly understand this subject, we are going to start with the Fifth Trumpet. However, we must realize the events listed under the Fifth Trumpet do not all occur within that time frame. In fact, they flow through the Sixth and Seventh Trumpet.

Let’s read the verse, and then I will explain.

Revelation 9:1-2
1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

see: Why Did Jesus Say, I Saw Satan Fall Like Lightning From Heaven?

Essentially, these two verses conclude the events of the Fifth Trumpet. While verses 3-12 offer details of the Sixth and Seventh Trumpet.

How can we be certain of that?

Verses 3-5 explain, an army of locusts will arise from this bottomless pit. Once they do, they only have five months on earth. The five months represent the Tribulation, the shortened days Jesus told us about in Matthew 24:22.

Now, if we jump down to Revelation 9:14, the Sixth Trumpet officially sounds, and we find the release of the four angels in the Euphrates. However, that’s not all…

Revelation 9:16
And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

“The army of horsemen” is the wicked angelic Locust Army.

We are officially reading about the events of the Sixth Trumpet, and we have the Locust Army on earth spiritually destroying men. The Locust Army that only has five months.

Moreover, this Locust Army appears from the bottomless pit, and they can only appear with Satan. Revelation 12:9 tells us, when Satan is cast out of Heaven, “his angels were cast out with him.” Satan’s angels are this Locust Army, which is the army of horsemen.

So once we see the Locust Army appear in Scripture, we know Satan is present as well. When they appear in Scripture, Satan has appeared, which means the Tribulation has begun.

Revelation 9:6
And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

This verse fixes the time frame, and these events transpire at the very end of the Sixth Trumpet, just before the return of Jesus at the Seventh Trumpet.

In those days, ‘men will seek death and not find it.’ They ask for the mountains to fall on them in order to hide their shame, “from the wrath of the Lamb,” (Revelation 9:16). This is the moment when the tribes of the earth mourn, when they witness the coming of Jesus, (Matthew 24:30).

That perfectly aligns with Revelation 6:13-17 and 9:6 which locks the event to the Sixth Trumpet. In fact, Revelation 6:13-17 discusses the Sixth Seal, when “the stars of heaven fell unto the earth.” Those “stars” are Satan and his angels that appear before Jesus, (Revelation 12:7-9). They are this Locust Army of 200 million.

The King Of The Bottomless Pit

Let’s continue reading Revelation 9, and see what else we can learn about “the bottomless pit.”

Revelation 9:11
And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Who had a king over them?

The Locust Army have a king over them.

Who is this king?

We are told his name is “Abaddon” in Hebrew, which means “a destroying angel.” We are also told his name is “Apollyon” in Greek, which means “a destroyer (that is, Satan).”

Plainly stated, the king of the Locust Army, and the angel of the bottomless pit is Satan. This Satanic angelic army can only appear with Satan, when they are cast from Heaven to earth by Michael, (Revelation 12:7-9).

Now, please turn your Bible with me to the final events of the Sixth Trumpet.

Revelation 11:7
And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

The Beast that ascended out of the bottomless pit, is the king of the Locust Army, the angel of the bottomless pit, that is Abaddon in Hebrew, and Apollyon in Greek, that is Satan himself.

It is Satan who kills the Two Witnesses right before the return of Jesus Christ. This conclusively proves, Satan is cast to earth at the Sixth Trumpet.

Jesus made it abundantly clear to us in Matthew 24:20-30, the false one, the false messiah would come right before Jesus. That false one is Satan, who appears at the Sixth Trumpet.
