Did Adam And Eve Live With Dinosaurs?

There is no debating the fact, Dinosaurs once roamed the earth, there are fossils to prove it which are found to this day. The better question would be, when did Dinosaurs roam the earth?

Science tells us, Dinosaurs roamed the earth millions of years ago, making the earth old.

Of course, this clashes with mainstream Christianity that teaches the “young earth doctrine”, which states the earth is only 6,000 years old. Even going so far as to say the Dinosaurs lived at the time of Adam and Eve, but is that belief Biblical?

Absolutely not.

The Bible offers zero evidence to support the idea that Dinosaurs lived with Adam and Eve. This theory is quite literally made out of thin air.

Due to the “young earth doctrine,” young earth Bible teachers are forced to place all of Creation and world history into a 6,000-year window which does not fit.

This concept without Biblical support is drilled into the minds of Christians. We had a first-hand experience of this at “The Ark Encounter” which is a tourist attraction featuring a replica of Noah’s Ark located in Kentucky. The concept of Dinosaurs roaming the earth with Adam and Eve was overwhelming despite no Biblical evidence for such a belief.

Since there is no Biblical basis, young earth teachers simply invented; movies, sounds, replicas, and pictures to fit their beliefs. They even placed Bible verses on the pictures in order to deceive their audience into accepting this theory. I say “deceive” as there is no other word to use that properly explains what is occurring within mainstream Christianity.

Adam And Eve And Dinosaurs

Adam And Eve - The Ark Encounter
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden as depicted at “The Ark Encounter”

The image above was one of many on display at “The Ark Encounter” which immerses the visitor in “young earth doctrine”.

The image depicts Adam and Eve wading in a pond with Dinosaurs off in the distance in a seemingly peaceful moment. This scene is not Biblical however, it is simply a picture used to convince individuals, especially children, of a young earth, and that Dinosaurs existed with Adam and Eve.

When we study the Bible we need to ensure we allow the Holy Spirit to lead the way while applying common sense to the Biblical Text.

Had carnivorous Dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptors existed during the time of Adam and Eve, they would have quickly met their demise. Even herbivores, such as herds of Brontosaurus would have destroyed the homes and camps of man due to their immense size.

Were Dinosaurs Sacrificed For Adam And Eve’s Sin?

Adam And Eve With Dinosaurs On An Alter - The Ark Encounter
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden with Dinosaurs on an altar as depicted at “The Ark Encounter”

The next image is even more disturbing and was also taken on our tour of “The Ark Encounter”. This image depicts Adam and Eve hiding from God and baby Dinosaurs being cooked on an altar.

The caption in the image reads,

“First Sacrifice God Provides A Substitute”

First off, nowhere in the Bible did God require Adam and Eve to perform a sacrifice due to their sin in the Garden of Eden. Nor were Adam and Eve to be sacrificed themselves and in need of a substitute, much less baby Dinosaurs roasting on an altar.

Further, it would have been an abomination to sacrifice an unclean animal to God.

“The Ark Encounter” provides Genesis 3:7-8;21 as documentation for the depiction (see above photo). However, these verses have nothing to do with Dinosaurs much less any sacrifice on an altar.

We are going to read these verses together, please turn your Bible with me to,

Genesis 3:7-8
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Clearly, these verses have nothing to do with Dinosaurs and sacrifices being required by God, they simply cover the sin of Adam and Eve.

Genesis 3:21
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

God, our Heavenly Father used animal skins to make clothing for Adam and Eve.

Obviously, several animals must have been killed by God since He is the one who provided the clothing, but how did this turn into sacrifices by Adam and Eve and burning Dinosaurs on an altar?

Both of these graphic scenes in no way, shape or form are Biblical accurate.

So why are “Christians” creating Biblically unsupported imagery and placing Scripture on the imagery in an attempt to validate it?

Summary

Bible teachers should not become so anxious to teach God’s Word that they stop teaching it. By replacing it with their own doctrines that have no Biblical basis in order to explain their beliefs. That does not help the body of Christ, it only confuses the body and makes a mockery out of the Christian faith.

We do not conform the Bible to our beliefs, we conform our beliefs to the Bible. When we properly accomplish that, we find no issue with Scripture or the world around us.
