Can You Explain Casting Out Devils?

Name: Wayne
Question: What about casting out devils?

Answer: Wayne, thank you for the question.

I am not sure which angle you are looking for here, so let me just freely talk about this subject. Please turn your Bible with me to,

Luke 10:19
19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

We are not talking about literal snakes. I guarantee if you step on a rattlesnake, you will get bit.

Who then are we talking about?

Who is the enemy of God and naturally the enemy of His children?

Satan of course (Revelation 12:9).

The scorpions are Satan’s angels, the supernatural portion of the Locust Army which will appear with Satan on earth during the Tribulation, (Revelation 12:7-9, 9:1-10).

Who granted us this authority, this power over our enemies?

Jesus Christ.

Please turn your Bible with me now to,

Mark 9:38
38 “And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.”

Read very close now.

Mark 9:39-40
39 “But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.”

40 For he that is not against us is on our part.”

In whose name?

In the name of Jesus Christ, that is how we have power over our enemies and that is how we cast out evil spirits. This man did not walk in the presence of Christ, but he was wise enough to understand who Christ was and used Christ’s name to cast out evil spirits, in no other name would they ever leave anyway. This is what we as Christians should do, boldly in the name of Jesus Christ order out that evil spirit and demand it be sent back to Heaven and bound there.

Turn your Bible one more time with me to,

Luke 11:24-25
24 “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.”

25 “And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.”

Never ever think once you cast out an evil spirit that everything is okay.

Is this a lack of faith?

Absolutely not, let us read the scriptures of our Father.

Luke 11:26
26 “Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

If we ever have to cast out an evil spirit, we better make certain we place the light of Jesus Christ into the individual who had the evil spirit. Otherwise, it will come back to the individual with seven other evil spirits more wicked than himself.

So we are to, cast out the evil spirit in the name of Jesus Christ, we then ask our Father to help us fill the individual with Christ. Then we do our best to share the Bible with that individual, doing our best to ensure that newly placed light of Christ grows into a beautiful flame of fire.
