All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.2 Timothy 3:16
There is so much truth, inspiration, and encouragement contained within this verse. The Bible was given to us by God, passed down to us through His servants. This makes the Bible profitable for “doctrine” which means “instruction”.
The Bible is the textbook of life. If you pay close enough attention, the Bible tells us how to please God and our fellow man. The Bible tells us what foods we can and cannot eat so we stay healthy. The Bible tells us how to use our money so we stay financially sound. The Bible even tells us the future so we know what is coming down the road.
The Bible tells us how we should govern ourselves, how to correct one another, and provide instruction to a world lost in sin. No matter the circumstance in life, the Bible either has an answer for it, or one can be found by applying other Biblical examples to our specific need.
The Bible even explains the meaning of life, something mankind cannot answer without acknowledging the Divine. The Bible is a book that explains the Creation of the universe, the creation of mankind, the animals and our place in the world.
It is not just a history book of past events, but our guidebook that helps us through life’s troubles, a book that when we apply to our life, provides instruction that will save our soul.
