I Don’t Feel Strong Or Wise Enough

We are going to discuss an email I received recently. A reader was commenting on the Bible study I wrote titled, “The Watchmen of the Last Days.” In that study, I said, if world events upset you, turn it all off.

The reader admitted to being a bit scared by the events of our world.

The reason?

They felt they would never be prepared enough: spiritually, mentally and physically.

They felt they were not strong enough or wise enough.

This individual has been a reader of our site for a fair amount of time from my recollection. I think the thoughts of this person are fair and probably cover a large portion of our audience and the people in our world when we really think about it.

As Christians, who provides us with strength, wisdom and the ability to be prepared; spiritually, mentally and physically for anything that comes our way?

Who provides us with these things?

Who makes us wise enough, strong enough, spiritually, mentally and physically prepared?

God does.

He can make the dumb to speak, the lame to walk, and the blind to see, (Matthew 15:31).

God Provides Strength

Turn your Bible with me to,

Isaiah 40:28
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

This is our qualifier, this verse documents the power and ability of God…

Isaiah 40:29
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

God, the Creator of everything provides the faint with strength.

He provides those with no might, increased strength.

Even when you have nothing left in the tank. If you reach out to God He will hear you and help you.

These are promises from your Heavenly Father, claim them.

We covered strength, now how about wisdom…

God Provides Wisdom

How do we obtain wisdom?

Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

The LORD, that is Jehovah, our Heavenly Father, the Creator of all. He is the one who provides us with strength and wisdom. He is the one who can build our spirit to endure our walk through life.

It takes effort on our part.

We have to seek Him out daily, through prayer and/or study of His Word. The rewards we read of, the strength and wisdom will not necessarily be instant, but you will obtain them through time and by diligently reaching out to Him.

Fishers Of Men

For those feeling like they are not good enough, not prepared enough, I want you to go back to the basics for a moment.

Turn your Bible with me to,

Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

This is the beginning of Christ’s Ministry.

Matthew 4:18
And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

Peter and Andrew were simple fishermen. They too probably thought they were not good enough, not wise enough or strong enough. Little did they know how their future would change in an instant…

Matthew 4:19
And He saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Christ said, “Follow me“.

Many would consider Peter and Andrew lowly fishermen, yet in an instant, they arose to the highest levels within Christ’s Kingdom on earth.

Think about that for a moment…

  • When you think you are not good enough.
  • When you think you are not strong enough.
  • When you think you are not wise enough.

Then you remember it is God who provides you with these things. I want you to remember how Christ turned simple fishermen into those who helped make Christianity a reality by walking with Christ.
