So the rumor mill swirls some more. Numerous reports indicate President Donald Trump is seeking attack options for Iran. Previously, we were told those plans were already in place and “on the table”.
According to MSN,
President Trump asked senior advisers in an Oval Office meeting on Thursday whether he had options to take action against Iran’s main nuclear site in the coming weeks. The meeting occurred a day after international inspectors reported a significant increase in the country’s stockpile of nuclear material, four current and former U.S. officials said on Monday.
Why now?
With potentially just two months remaining in office, why consider attacking Iran now?
I know, there are numerous reasons we could come up with. However, this is still very odd, but what else would you expect from 2020?

Elliott Abrams, the administration’s top envoy on Iran, was in Israel this week for talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be here next week for three days to continue those conversations; and on Thursday night, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi held a video call with his US counterpart, chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley.

I find it very interesting this news comes on the heels of potential announcements of troop withdrawals from the Middle East. I have heard this so many times during the last four years I lost count.
Nevertheless, I can envision troops being withdrawn if there are plans for war with another nation…
