Bible Verse of the Day

Bible Verse of the Day

1 John 2:15-16

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

Always rightly divide God’s Word.

This verse does not mean you cannot enjoy the world. We should enjoy the world, go out and see some of it and enjoy your family, friends and hobbies! Think about it for a moment, why did God create the earth? He “created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created,(Revelation 4:11). Our Father created everything, including you for His pleasure. He created this earth and the creatures in it for His pleasure and yours I would add.

Think about yourself, why did you decide to have children? For your pleasure.

Our Father created you for the same reason. So enjoy life and never feel guilty about it. This is how we learn and meet people and share what we know about our Father with them. I tell you what, experiencing new things and meeting and talking to people can actually help you learn new perspectives and even help you with your sharing of the Word.

The point of this verse is we should not place the world over God. If all we focus on is things of the world, that is where our heart is (Matthew 6:21). The world can be as good or as bad as you want it to be, depending on what you partake of.

Enjoy the world, but always, always ensure you make time for our Heavenly Father.
