Can Christians Refuse Government Vaccine Mandates?

We are continually being pressed to follow government vaccine and mask mandates. This is causing quite a stir in the Christian community.

Readers have reached out to me with their concerns. Being, some Christians, and Pastors are stating Romans 13 declares, we must follow government law and their vaccine mandates.

This disturbs me greatly, so we are going to talk about it.

Christians Follow Righteous Laws, Not Mandates

First off, there are no laws that state we have to take the vaccine.

There are “mandates” which are not laws, but decrees. We do not follow decrees which go by the whims of men, but Christians do follow the laws of the land, being, the Constitution.

The Bible does not say we have to take a vaccine, in fact, quite the contrary as we will learn.

We are going to cover Romans 13:1-4, these Scriptures are being used by Christians (Pastors) as justification to adhere to government vaccine mandates. We also tie in other Scriptures as well.

Let’s see what Romans has to say.

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

The Bible said, God appoints our rulers, (Daniel 2:21).

However, that does not mean they are God’s rulers. That does not mean God approves of them.

Let’s think about that for a moment.

God Appoints Rulers To Chastise The People

Let’s recall Biblical history.

Ask yourself…

Were the rulers of the nations who took the Israelites captive good God believing people?

No, they were heathen.

Yet, God appointed them to take the Israelites captive in order to teach His people a lesson.

Now, bring your mind back to the modern era.

God still appoints our rulers (the ones we deserve), even here in the United States. Now those same rulers put forward laws that allow for the murder of the unborn.

  • Do we honestly think God wants that?
  • Do we think God approves of that?

Of course not.

Therefore, Christians and Pastors should really be careful citing Scripture to coax someone into taking the vaccine.

That is not Godly.

That is not Christian.

Instead, all health decisions remain in the hands of the individual. Certainly, not in the hands of the government.

Rulers Are Not A Terror To Good Works

Let’s read the next verse.

Romans 13:2
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Woah!

That sure makes it sound like we better listen to our corrupt politicians, or else, God is going to rain down fire and brimstone on us!

Yet, just relax, let the Scriptures flow.

Romans 13:3
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Now here we go, do not read over this verse, this is the most important one here.

This verse is our qualifier.

The whole assumption with Romans 13:1-4, is that our rulers, are good rulers.

A good ruler would not be a terror to good works.

However, an evil ruler would be a terror to good works.

Look at the lockdowns.

The government, which would be our rulers broke the law of our land. They broke the law, being the Constitution, and forced healthy people to isolate themselves in their homes.

The government forced us to wear masks because of their interpretation of science.

That was wicked, not good, but wicked.

Romans 13:4
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Have our rulers done good?

The answer is no.

Therefore, our rulers are not qualified to be called, good rulers. Our rulers have disqualified themselves from the blessings in this verse. Our rulers have relinquished our duty to adhere to them through their own wicked works.

God’s Word is complete my friends.

Our Rulers “Must Be Just”, Fearing God

Let’s follow this up by turning to the Book of Samuel which provides the qualifier for Romans 13.

2 Samuel 23:3
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

Now that right there, that is exactly what I was talking about in Romans 13.

Those who rule over us “must be just”.

That means, our rulers must be righteous men, ruling with fear and love of God.

If our rulers are not doing that, they are not God’s rulers.

God may have appointed them, but they are not “ministers of God to thee for good”, and God does not approve of their actions.

This is why we must always remember, the Bible does not contradict itself.

Romans 13:1-4 is talking about adhering to righteous rulers, those are God’s ministers. Not unrighteous men and women, they certainly would not be God’s ministers.

God does good, not evil.

A Warning To Christian Pastors

I have to say, someone who teaches that God approves of rulers who murder the unborn, and steal our rights as free people, is slapping God in the face.

That’s perverting the Word of God to drive someone’s idea of what is right and wrong. It disturbs me greatly that a Christian would distort what God said to fit their ideology.

No Christian should ever, ever do that.

No Christian should ever shame another into believing they must obey an evil government that hates God. If our government loved God, God would be number 1.

Yet, it’s exactly the opposite.

Easily proven as God has been driven out of our life and government, and replaced with perversion and sin. The government helped make that a reality, rulers like that are not of God, they are not “ministers of God”.

Your takeaway, your health, no matter what we are talking about always remains your decision. The Bible does not grant an unrighteous government to make those decisions for you, whether they are mandates or laws.

Now that we understand Christians are not compelled to follow unrighteous rulers…

The Bible On Vaccination

What does the Bible say about taking a vaccine?

Not a darn thing.

However, we can draw on examples in order to make some conclusions.

Let’s see what we can learn from 1st Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Our flesh bodies are God’s Temple.

If we are “one in Christ”, if we adhere to God’s Word, then the Holy Spirit dwells within us, (Galatians 3:29). That means we are to be clean. If we are not clean, it is of great offense to God, even to our destruction.

Considering vaccines, they contain; DNA, cells, proteins, metals, and all sorts of other substances that do not occur in our bodies naturally. Nor are they found in the foods we consume.

Therefore, by taking a vaccine, I feel one is ‘defiling the temple of God’.

Speaking of vaccines in general, God never intended for us to insert DNA and cells from aborted fetuses and other organisms into our bodies.

In my opinion, that is an abomination against God’s creation.

A Dividing Line

Further, Jesus told us, render to government the things that are governments, and render to God the things that are God’s.

Mark 12:17
And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.

Vaccines are not of God, they are a concoction of various cells, proteins, metals, and other substances. Adding cells from other organisms, and DNA to our body does not sound Godly to me. It does not sound like the “temple of God”, but that is your decision to make.

Take it in prayer.

2 Corinthians 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

This verse covers the cleanliness of our flesh and spirit.

We are to be clean as the temple of God.

Vaccines And Aborted Fetal Cells

Christians should also be aware, while the COVID-19 vaccines do not contain aborted fetal cells. Fetal cells were used during the research and development of these mRNA vaccines.

I feel taking vaccines associated with abortion in any manner is promoting sin. One of the seven things God hates are “hands that shed innocent blood”, (Proverbs 6:17). Destroying an unborn child is shedding innocent blood. A baby is an innocent life, a baby is flesh and blood.

The womb of our mother was never intended to be our grave, (Jeremiah 20:17). A woman’s womb brings forward life, it should never be the place to bring about death through murder.

Therefore, Christians should not partake of any vaccines produced, researched, or developed using aborted fetal cells.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we ask that you be with and console our Christian brothers and sisters who are dealing with pressure from the government, family, friends, and church members to be vaccinated.

We ask that you pour out your Spirit full of wisdom on us all. We need you Father in order to make appropriate life decisions for us and our children. We continue to feel alone in our decisions as the world continues to push down on us.

Help us Lord, lift us up, bless us with spiritual wisdom. Help your Pastors and Ministers teach Your children according to Your Word. Lead us on the right path, your path to Eternal Life.

We ask all of these things, in Jesus name, amen.
