This Is Why God Destroyed His Vineyard

Do you ever wake up, crank up the news and think, what the heck happened?

I mean what happened to sensibility, common sense, and decency?

It’s certainly absent from our world these days. How ironic, since the modern world was supposed to bring everyone closer together. Technology was supposed to make life easier, benefit all, and make knowledge and truth easier to obtain.

Oh, I hear you laughing all right, I’m right there with you.

The only thing the modern world has acomplished is divide nations, states, neighbors, and families. We cannot agree on anything anymore. Truth is more scarce than it’s ever been. Reality is manipulated and exaggerated by just about everyone.

What a big mess.

It seems the more sophisticated we become, the more morally obscure we are.

What is morality anyway?

There’s no such thing, after all, more and more people don’t believe in the Almighty, so why the heck do they need morality? If you’re just a chemical concoction that evolution conjured up, then there is no such thing as morality.

No wonder I saw articles about people using AI for sex, and children acting like animals. That was all before I saw a preacher, oh, and I use that term very loosely say,

“I believe in the non-binary God whose pronouns are plural. I believe in Jesus Christ, their child, who wore a fabulous tunic and had two dads.”

Alpha News

Say what?

Two dads?

Then another shouted,

“Now is the time to say … ‘God is queer.’”

Christian Post

Huh?

These Christians have lost their minds.

Then you have the AI sex freaks, barking children, and the perverted priests. Hey, who needs the Devil hard at work when you have preachers destroying our faith?

So I did the only thing a sensible man could do. I read the Bible before I went to bed, to try and obtain some common sense to wash away all the madness. I mean, who wants to go to bed with all that stuck in their mind?

Not I!

So I turned to the book of Isaiah, and the prophet prophesied.

The Prophecies of Isaiah

If you’ve read the Old Testament, I don’t have to tell you the Israelites were a hot mess! I mean these folks, God’s chosen people did everything they could to tick God off. He was with them, He blessed them, they lived the good life, then they forgot about God and abandoned Him.

Oh, it gets worse, much worse!

They didn’t just abandon Him, they served other gods instead of Him. Then they enjoyed every perversion they could think of, including those found among the nations around them. Then the Israelites doubled down!

It became so bad, God said, “That’s it, I’m done with you nuts,” and He scattered them.

Ahem, now think about the modern world…

That’s right, recall your mind back to AI sex, barking kids, and wacky preachers. Oh, and that’s before we ever get into “diversity, equality, and inclusion.” I shudder at the words.

But seriously, think about all the Christian nations, that are no longer Christian nations. There’s no doubt in my mind, God originally blessed them, as they walked with Him to a large degree, during their foundation and early history, but not anymore.

So, I want to take you on a trip down memory lane, in the book of Isaiah…

This is what I read last night, this is what happens to sinful nations that turn their back on God.

Isaiah 1:4
Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

Does that not sum up our nation today?

We are sinful, we are laden with iniquity, we are evildoers, we have forsaken the Lord, and we have gone away backward.

You know, that phrase “gone away backward,” it means going backward from God.

Now, what does that remind you of?

It reminds me of the Great Apostasy, (2 Thessalonians 2:3).

How about this next verse…

Isaiah 1:7
Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

Our nation is spiritually desolate.

Do I really need to re-quote the nutty preachers for you?

Strangers” which means “foreigners” do devour our land.

Our nation is being overthrown by strangers, by foreigners, and foreign powers. Even those from within, who destroy for their own personal gain…

Oh, but there are even more parallels.

Isaiah 1:23
Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Get this, “princes” means,

A head person (of any rank or class), captain, chief (captain), general, governor, keeper, lord, ([-task-]) master, prince (-ipal), ruler, steward.

Do you get it?

Today, we’re talking about our political leaders, our President’s and Prime Ministers, and all the people who serve under them. They rebel against God, and their pals are thieves, and the “gifts” you read of are bribes, and those “rewards” they go looking for are bribes as well.

So back in ancient Israel, the leaders stopped serving the people and started serving themselves.

Does any of this really sound any different from today?

Oh, I’m quite sure, the apostate leaders spoke with fork in tongue. I’m sure they said, “We serve the people to build a strong nation,” while they served themselves and built a strong treasury for themselves.

Look what else we have…

Isaiah 3:5
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

Today, as back then, the people are oppressed by their leaders. The people are divided among each other, thanks to their leaders, and the children have no respect for their elders. We’ve become a cesspool of a nation, just as Israel long ago.

Why?

Israel left God and we followed suit.

Isaiah 3:9
The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

If that verse doesn’t peg the Western nations of today, then I don’t know what does.

Any and all perversion is elevated above God and nature itself. Today, society “Declares their sin as Sodom, they hide it not.” This is to their own detriment, and don’t be surprised by it. It happened to the Israelites thousands of years ago, and it’s happening to us today.

Now here’s the best part…

God’s Vineyard

Isaiah goes on to provide a parable of sorts.

God explains, He planted a vineyard on very fruitful land. He placed a fence around it, removed all the stones from the soil, and planted the very best grapes. God even built a watchtower in the middle of the property, and it even came with a winepress, (Isaiah 5:1-3).

You would think, this vineyard would produce fantastic grapes for a fantastic wine. I mean, God did all that was required. Yet, this vineyard produced bad grapes.

This vineyard is symbolic of Jerusalem, but today it’s symbolic of the Christian nations.

Isaiah 5:4
What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

What else could God have done, except plant, protect, and nurture?

Even after all that, “wild grapes” which are “poison berries” overtook the good.

Therefore…

Isaiah 5:5-6
5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

That’s heavy stuff right there!

Since God’s people turned on Him, and became “poison berries,” God removed His wall of protection. He even destroyed His people, all due to their abundant and proud sins.

God’s Judgement

Isaiah 5:24-25
24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Hey, God did it then, and He will do it today.

Christians are supposed to be God’s people. We are supposed to make the paths straight, we are supposed to uphold all that is righteous, not make excuses for sin. Not embrace sin and perversion, yet we find so many people doing that today.

God will not bless the once-Christian nations.

Instead, God will tear down what He built, He will tear it to the ground, and allow the stranger to move right on in.
