Brandon, The Jews Are God’s Chosen People, We’re Gentiles

Name: Gayle Gorrell
Question: I have always enjoyed your emails til October 7, 2023. I have been reading the Bible for years now. We the gentiles were grafted into the Olive tree. We were grafted in, because of the faith of Abraham. God said I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who curse you.

Why would Jesus say you will not see me until the time comes when you will say Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord to the jews. The promise to Abraham who is the father of the 12 tribes and the gentiles who believe.

God has a way of letting me know if what I am reading is wrong. My gut cringes when I read your anti Jew articles. I have unsubscribed from your website.

Answer: Gayle, thanks so much for your honest and sincere email.

In Genesis 12:3, God did tell Abraham,

“I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee…”

However, wasn’t God talking to Abraham here?

Let’s complete the verse.

“…and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Yes, God was speaking to Abraham.

In Abraham would all the familes of the earth be blessed.

Now, how exactly do we reconcile this, if we believe it speaks of modern day Talmudic Jews?

That would be anti-Christian Jews.

How exactly have they blessed “all the families of the earth?”

They haven’t.

So that means we need to open Scripture, to see if we made an error in our understanding of God’s everlasting covenant to Abraham.

Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Speaking of: Genesis 17:4-7

You see, when God made that promise to Abraham, it did fall upon his descendants for a time. However, Scripture makes it very clear, the ultimate fulfillment of,

“I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed…”

Is found in Jesus Christ.

That’s what Galatians 3:16 is teaching us.

From Abraham, down through the generations eventually came Jesus Christ, “the seed,” the promised seed who would fulfill this everlasting covenant. Through Jesus Christ, all the families of the earth are blessed, not through the Jews.

Why?

When we accept Jesus Christ, we gain eternal life Gayle.

“All families of the earth” can take part in that.

Let’s read some more Scripture together.

Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

The Bible, God’s Holy Word is saying, there is no difference between races.

In fact, to teach the Jews are God’s chosen people is to teach racism.

It’s to teach, that God automatically chooses and blesses someone due to the color of their skin.

Yet, that’s completely contrary to the Bible.

God is no respecter of persons,” (Acts 10:34).

You see,

“…the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

1 Samuel 16:7

God looks at our heart, our faith and works, not our race.

So then, God has not chosen a people based on their race.

Instead,

“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Galatians 3:29

Do you see?

If you have accepted Jesus Christ, you are Abraham’s seed.

You are a part of that promise.

Look what the Bible teaches concerning “Gentiles.”

1 Corinthains 12:2
Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

Paul was speaking to the Corinthians who were a heathen people.

They were Gentiles, past tense, until they knew Christ, and then they became Abraham’s seed. So that tells us, Gentiles are not based on race, but one’s belief, one’s faith.

If you do not accept Jesus Christ, you are not Abraham’s seed.

1 Thessalonians 4:5
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God.

The Gentiles are those who do not know the God of the Bible.

The Gentiles are those who do not accept Jesus Christ.

Thankfully, we have more details.

Romans 4:13-14, 16
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Plainly stated in several Holy Scriptures, God’s chosen people are those who have accepted Jesus Christ. To teach otherwise, to believe otherwise is contrary to Scripture, and it would mean that God is a racist, only choosing and blessing those of a certain race.

That’s not reality Gayle.

Instead, God’s chosen people are Christians, the only people that are saved, and it’s not based on race, but faith alone.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
